"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Chapter 297: Knight Battle (Part 2)

Siris screamed, pain tearing through her as Liban's sword left her body riddled with bloody wounds.

"Give up," Liban said, lowering his blade but keeping his eyes locked on her. "With my Gravity Jail, you're fighting at half your strength. Victory is impossible."

He wasn't cruel—Liban had no taste for tormenting women. If Siris would yield, he'd gladly end the fight with dignity.

But Siris only gasped for breath, blood flecking her lips.

"No… I refuse. I'm Lord Tenra's Knight. Even if I lose, I'll fight until the very end!"

Her body screamed for rest, but Siris forced herself upright, jaw clenched, refusing to falter. Tenra was watching. She would not fall—not here.

Liban's eyes softened for a moment.

"Your resolve is impressive, but… for my lord's sake, forgive me, Knight Siris."

He raised his sword again and lunged.

Siris staggered, her body heavy as lead, barely able to lift her holy sword to parry. Steel met steel, sparks flying, but she was losing ground—until she noticed something. In the blur of their clash, her body suddenly felt lighter.

No mistake. In that instant, the crushing weight vanished.

When Liban spun and locked eyes with her again, the pressure returned, pinning her down.

It's his gaze! Siris realized. His Sacred Gear manipulated gravity wherever he looked. If she could block his line of sight, she could break free.

Without hesitation, Siris swung her sword—not at Liban, but at the ground.

A thunderous boom split the air, dust erupting in a thick cloud. Siris grinned through the pain.

Just as I thought!

With Liban's vision obscured, the gravity spell broke. Siris felt her strength return.

Her heart pounded with hope. She unleashed a flurry of sword beams, not at Liban, but at the earth around him, kicking up more dust and debris.

Explosions rocked the battlefield. Liban vanished within the swirling haze.

"Tch, she figured it out!" Liban muttered, frustrated. He began casting a wind spell to clear the dust.

But Siris was already moving.

Steel rang out—she slashed at Liban, forcing him to block instead of casting.

"Gravity Jail!" he shouted, trying to target her again.

But Siris wouldn't give him another chance. She pushed her Knight's speed to its absolute limit, vanishing in a blur and reappearing behind Liban, sword poised to strike.

The next moments were chaos—dust swirling, blades flashing, Siris attacking from every angle. She had one window before visibility returned. She had to end it now.

Liban spun, sweat beading his brow, sword lashing out.

"Left… right… behind!"

He stabbed, feeling resistance—his blade pierced Siris's body. She went limp, mouth open in shock.

Liban exhaled, relief flooding him—until he heard Siris's voice behind him.

"It's over!"

The Siris he'd impaled shimmered, then vanished—a phantom. He'd been tricked.

Before he could react, Siris's blade crashed down, sending him flying with a scream.

The dust settled. Siris, pale and trembling, knelt with her sword for support. Liban lay broken in a pool of blood, barely conscious.

"A complete reversal!" the host shouted, voice cracking with excitement. The crowd erupted, cheers rolling like thunder.

Yubelluna and the girls sagged with relief; Tenra's lips curled into a faint smile.

Siris staggered over to Liban, voice soft but resolute.

"Sorry… for winning with such a cheap trick."

Liban managed a weak smile.

"No… strong will and flawless tactics. I lost, fair and square."

He looked to Siris, pride in his eyes.

"Beruka's strength surpasses mine. Keep fighting, Knight Siris. Your battle isn't over yet…"

Light enveloped him, and Liban vanished from the battlefield.

"Lord Sairaorg's Knight—eliminated!" the host announced.

Siris drew a shaky breath, but her eyes burned with renewed determination. The fight wasn't finished.

She quickly tended her wounds and raced toward the other front—

"Liban got taken out, huh?" Beruka muttered, sword pressing Kalamaina back. "Guy relied too much on his Sacred Gear. His weakness was obvious."

He patted his Pale Horse, Altobrau.

"They're getting reinforcements, old friend. Time to pick up the pace."

Altobrau whinnied, magic swirling. The beast spat a fireball directly at Kalamaina.

"Damn—!" Kalamaina tried to dodge, but Beruka's blade pinned her in place. The fireball hit squarely.

A massive explosion rocked the field, flames leaping skyward. Kalamaina crashed into the earth, leaving a crater in her wake.

Azazel, watching from the VIP seats, grinned mischievously.

"Told you—Pale Horses are nasty. Focus on the rider and ignore the mount, and you'll pay for it."

Back in the ruins, Siris found Kalamaina, battered but alive.

"You okay?" Siris knelt beside her.

"Not dead yet…" Kalamaina managed, blood trickling from her lips.

She'd survived Altobrau's attack, but barely. Even so, the two Knights were together again.

Beruka descended, his tone light.

"Didn't expect you two to regroup. Looks like I'm in trouble now."

His words said "trouble," but the smile beneath his helmet gave him away.

Kalamaina wiped blood from her mouth.

"Siris, this guy's sword work is nasty. That demon horse is lethal. Stay sharp."

"Got it."

No more words. Both Knights summoned their swords—Kalamaina with her demonic blade, Siris with her holy sword—and charged.

Beruka laughed, battle-lust in his voice.

"Altobrau, let's show them!"

He and his mount surged forward, blue flames trailing.

Steel clashed, explosions shook the ground—the entire battlefield became chaos as three Knights fought for supremacy.

Beruka, Sairaorg's ace, was a nightmare with Altobrau at his side. But against Tenra's two Knights, even he started to falter.

"This won't do…" Beruka muttered, watching the sisters close in.

He snapped his reins. To Kalamaina and Siris's astonishment, Beruka and Altobrau split, multiplying into countless copies that scattered across the field.

"Phantoms?" Kalamaina slashed at the nearest Beruka, but her sword passed through—no resistance, no flesh.

"Not just illusions, sister!" another Beruka called out, grinning as he stabbed at Kalamaina.

Sparks flew, the force numbing Kalamaina's arm. She readied a counter, but the attacker split again, multiplying further.

"Damn, he's using this move!" Kalamaina growled, backing up to Siris. The two stood back-to-back, eyes darting between the many Berukas.

Most were mere illusions, but one was real—and every copy felt identical. There was no way to tell the difference.

Beruka's voice echoed from somewhere in the swarm.

"This is my specialty. Not even Lord Sairaorg can pick out the real me."

"All right, sisters—brace yourselves!"

Every Beruka charged, Altobrau's flames blazing.

Steel rang out in a storm. Kalamaina and Siris could only defend desperately. Their wounds multiplied, exhaustion mounting.

"Hah… hah… At this rate, he'll wear us down," Kalamaina gasped. "Siris, I've got an idea."

"Funny—I have one too," Siris replied, sharing a grim smile.

"Let's see whose luck holds," Kalamaina said.

With a nod, both Knights faced the oncoming horde. But this time, they didn't block or dodge—they let themselves be struck.

Kalamaina cried out as a sword pierced her abdomen.

"Sister, why didn't you dodge?!" Beruka exclaimed, startled.

Kalamaina grinned through the pain, grabbing Beruka's arm in a vice grip.

"Guess my luck's better. Got you."

She shouted,

"Siris!"

Beruka realized too late.

"Let go! You crazy woman—let go!"

"Altobrau, kick her off!" he barked, but Kalamaina held fast.

"Demonic Sword Birth!" Kalamaina called, channeling her last reserves of magic. Blades shot out, stabbing Altobrau.

The Pale Horse screamed, Beruka panicked, and Kalamaina's eyes gleamed with cold triumph.

"Finish it!" she cried.

Siris leapt, holy sword raised, and brought it down on Beruka with all her remaining strength.

"AHHHHHHH!"
