The Sacred Gear [Cyan Light Arrow] flared to life. In Susanoo's massive hands, a divine bow materialized, shimmering with celestial energy.
Tenra drew the string back. Power gathered—an arrow of pure light formed, humming with lethal intent. With a sharp crack, he loosed it skyward.
BOOM.
High above, the arrow detonated. In an instant, the sky was filled with a blizzard of light—tens of thousands of arrows splitting off, raining down in a storm so dense it swallowed the horizon.
"Dodge!" someone shouted—but where could they run?
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM!
Flames roared upward. The battlefield and forest vanished beneath the onslaught; every inch of ground was hammered by merciless light. When the dust settled, the alternate dimension was a wasteland—ruins and scorched earth, as if the apocalypse had come and gone.
Host Naud Gamigin stared, lips numb. "Wh-what… incredible power…"
"One [Queen] of Rias-sama has retired!"
They were too late. Akeno vanished, swept away by the attack.
"Aaaaaaaah—!"
A massive energy sphere blasted from Susanoo's hand, tearing through the air to slam into Akeno.
WHOOSH—
Rias and the others shot upward, desperate to intervene. Akeno's eyes widened—she felt a suffocating chill lock onto her.
"Akeno!"
He raised Susanoo's palm, aiming at Akeno.
Tenra smirked. "Akeno, stabbing your own man? You really are a wicked woman. Now, let's see how you handle true terror."
She'd only had the spear for a few days. Against Tenra, it wasn't enough.
Akeno soared, [Twilight Holy Spear] extending in her hands. She drove it at Susanoo's chest—if it were Cao Cao wielding it, he'd punch a hole clean through. But Akeno, even with every ounce of strength, could only carve a shallow wound.
"Holy spear, pierce it!"
Rias and the girls were no less furious. Kuroka and Koneko—both gone.
"Damn you, Tenra Kamiyo! How could you do that to our brave, beautiful, adorable Koneko-chan?!"
The host's voice barely finished before a wave of outrage swept the male devils in the stands.
"One [Rook] of Rias-sama has retired!"
For the record, Tenra used [Angel's Whisper]—not some Sharingan trick—to knock her out. The tomoe? Just a little inside joke.
Susanoo's eyes spun with six blood-red tomoe. Koneko's gaze glazed over, and she slumped, unconscious.
"Koneko-chan, the power you just showed… even I was surprised," Tenra said softly. "I'll apologize for everything when we get home. For now, rest."
Spent, Koneko faltered. Susanoo's hand closed around her, lifting her from the ground.
But even heroes have limits.
Cheers erupted—admiration for the courage and strength of a warrior so small, yet so fierce.
"OHHHHHHHHH!"
Koneko went berserk, raining punches on the giant. The crowd watched, breathless, as the tiny girl drove the titan backward, cracks spiderwebbing across its armored form.
"Defeat you! Defeat you!! DEFEAT YOU!!!"
"Nee-sama… Kuroka… She protected me…"
Her fists were small, but the power behind them was monstrous.
The impact thundered through the battlefield. Tenra's laughter died; Susanoo staggered back, forced to retreat.
BOOM!
He laughed—a sound cut short as Koneko launched herself like a cannonball, fist slamming into Susanoo's chest.
Tenra grinned, playing the villain to the hilt. "Scary, scary. Is Koneko-chan mad now? Want to avenge your sister? Then come at me!"
Her voice was low, but the resolve behind it was unbreakable.
"Tenra-senpai. I'm going to defeat you."
Koneko didn't answer. Her gaze locked onto the towering giant in the distance.
"K-Koneko…" Rias whispered, shaken by the raw force radiating from the small girl.
A surge of spiritual energy exploded from her body, wild and untamed.
BOOM!
Then—
Koneko rose, eyes blank, realization dawning.
"Nee-sama… Kuroka…"
All eyes turned to Koneko, still sitting in a daze.
She was only a [Pawn] by rank, but Rias had spent four pieces to recruit her. Kuroka was second to none in strength among Rias's peerage. The arrow rain was brutal, but Kuroka should've survived—unless…
Kuroka—gone?
The host's announcement echoed. Rias and her team froze.
"One [Pawn] of Rias-sama has retired!"
A soft smile. Kuroka brushed Koneko's forehead—then her lips parted, a thin trickle of blood escaping. Her body shimmered, dissolving into motes of light.
Koneko nodded, still shaken. "I'm fine, Nee-sama."
Kuroka knelt beside Koneko, voice gentle. "You alright, Shirone?"
Just moments ago, they'd thought they were finished. Tenra hadn't held back at all.
Akeno and the others emerged from the rubble, battered, faces streaked with dust and ash—utterly spent.
"We're okay… somehow."
"Cough… Is everyone alright?" Rias shoved aside a boulder, voice trembling.
The crowd was stunned silent. What kind of monster had the Phoenix family unleashed?
