Chapter 223 - Chapter 223 First Attempt

The Konoha Camp was bustling with Ninja, constructing defenses, and moving crates of Shuriken, Kunai, and other weapons, transported from Konoha, into storage.

Compared to them, Ren, walking leisurely through the Konoha Camp with empty hands and a relaxed expression, stood out.

"It's only early afternoon, and I've already eaten. What should I do next?"

Ren scratched his head, a bit troubled, and pondered for a long time but couldn't figure out what to do.

"No, wait, I think there is!"

Ren's eyes suddenly lit up, and he quickened his pace, heading straight for the Commander's tent. Before long, he arrived in front of it.

After the usual announcement, Ren lifted the curtain and stepped inside. He immediately saw Minato sitting at the desk opposite him, a slight frown on his face, his pen flying across the paper.

Noticing the movement at the entrance, Minato paused his pen, looked up at the newcomer, and, realizing it was Ren, asked with a puzzled expression,

"Is something wrong, Ren?"

"Don't mind me, Minato Bro. I have something to do at Mount Myōboku with the two Sages. You go on with your work."

Ren saw that Minato was busy. After explaining, he went to the side, bit his finger, and began forming hand signs.

Within the Konoha Camp, the use of Chakra was forbidden except for Medical Ninjutsu. Ren came here just for convenience.

No one would be foolish enough to cause trouble at the Commander's tent.

"Alright, come back early after you're done training."

Minato nodded, and after his instruction, he lowered his head and continued to review documents.

Meanwhile, Ren had finished forming his hand signs, slamming his palm to the ground as he uttered a low cry,

"Summoning Technique!"

As black runes appeared on the ground, a small cloud of white mist exploded. When the smoke cleared, Kaeru Kosuke, who had previously delivered messages for Ren, appeared before him.

"Kosuke, I need to go to Mount Myōboku for something. I'll trouble you to ask Fukasaku Sage to use the Reverse Summoning Technique to bring me there when you return."

Kaeru Kosuke nodded, his hands clasped together as he said,

"Alright, I'll go ahead then."

"Thank you for your trouble."

As white smoke erupted, Kaeru Kosuke disappeared again. Not long after, Ren vanished from the tent.

Minato looked up at where Ren had just stood and at the entrance, then dismissed it from his mind, his pen pausing for a moment before continuing to move.

Outside the Commander's tent at this moment stood two hesitant Konoha Ninja, members of a patrol team. They had rushed over after sensing Chakra fluctuations. They hadn't expected to end up at the Commander's tent.

Should they enter? It felt inappropriate to disturb the Commander's work. But not entering also felt wrong.

"Forget it, let's just go. Let's not disturb Lord Minato over such a small matter."

One Chunin, after a moment of hesitation, whispered to his companion. The other immediately reacted and quickly replied,

"Right, right, let's hurry back. The captain is still waiting over there."

With that, the two turned and quickly left, leaving the guards watching their retreating figures with strange looks.

Of course, Ren knew nothing of this. He had already arrived at Mount Myōboku.

As soon as Ren landed, he saw Fukasaku Sage in front of him. He immediately stood up and respectfully said,

"Fukasaku Sage, I've troubled you again this time."

"It's nothing, little Ren. Is there something you need at Mount Myōboku this time?"

Fukasaku Sage waved his hand dismissively, then jumped onto Ren's shoulder and said with a chuckle,

"I want to test the power of a newly developed Ninjutsu, but it's not convenient there, so I came here to find a training ground to practice."

As soon as Ren finished speaking, Fukasaku Sage understood his meaning and said without hesitation,

"That's simple. The place where Gamabunta and those boys train will do. I have nothing to do anyway, so I'll go with you."

"Great, please lead the way."

Under Fukasaku Sage's guidance, Ren hurried across Mount Myōboku, leaping onto cliffs, climbing over giant rocks, and finally, after passing through a forest, arriving at an open space.

"Whew, Fukasaku Sage, this place is quite far."

Ren panted slightly, a thin layer of sweat appearing on his forehead, and as a gentle breeze blew, his face felt a chill.

"Hahahaha, this is considered the very edge of Mount Myōboku. Gamabunta, Ken, and Gama Hiro often train and spar here, so the space is quite wide."

Fukasaku Sage extended a hand from his cloak, stroked his beard, and chuckled at the slightly out-of-breath Ren.

"It certainly is big."

Ren said with full agreement.

Before him was a gigantic open space, with nothing but some giant rocks. The ground was covered in pits of various sizes, and not far away, two giant toads were fighting.

"Tsk, is that Gamabunta Bro and Goro? They're full of spirit."

Ren watched the back-and-forth, evenly matched opponents, rubbing his chin and chuckling.

"Hm?"

At this moment, the two toads also noticed Ren approaching. They immediately stopped fighting and looked over.

"Ren, Dad, why are you here?"

Gamabunta put his short sword back into its sheath, took the pipe out of his mouth, and looked at the two with a puzzled expression.

"Little Ren said he wanted to come and test a new Ninjutsu, so I brought him over."

After Fukasaku Sage finished speaking, he jumped from Ren's shoulder onto a nearby giant rock, sitting cross-legged.

"Little Ren, do you mind if we watch?"

"Of course not. I was just about to say I'd come to your house for dinner later."

Ren responded with a chuckle, then looked up at Gamabunta and spread his hands.

"Gamabunta Bro, do you mind moving aside? Look at Goro."

"Hm?"

Gamabunta turned his head, somewhat puzzled, only to find Gama Hiro squatting next to his father, calmly sheathing his twin swords, then crossing his arms and looking over.

"That Gama Hiro, when did he get over there?"

Gamabunta muttered as he also came to squat on the other side of his father, his gaze entirely fixed on Ren in the center of the field.

"Isobu Bro, let's give it a try."

Ren's consciousness sank into his mind, looking at the two Tailed Beasts who had opened their eyes before him, and smiled.

"Hm?"

Isobu blinked his red eyes, not understanding what Ren meant for a moment.

"I mean, let's try the complete form."

As soon as Ren finished speaking, the two Tailed Beasts' eyes widened. Isobu was silent for a moment before speaking.

"Okay."

"Alright, then let's start now."

Ren was about to return to his main body and begin, but suddenly, as if remembering something, he turned to look at the silent Brother Jōmei beside him.

"Oh, right, Brother Jōmei, next time I'll find another place for you to get some fresh air. Don't worry, it won't be too long."

"Okay."

Brother Jōmei nodded, agreeing.

Although he also wanted to see the outside world again, he understood Ren's current situation. He was a Jinchuriki of two Tailed Beasts, and if this were discovered, they would surely become targets.

Giving this opportunity to Isobu was fine. Besides, Ren said he would let him out again soon.

He had waited so many years; he wasn't in a hurry for this moment.
