Lana raised an eyebrow.
"The agreement?"
She opened the contract again.
"The agreement where I willingly allow you to devour my soul, steal my body, consume my remaining lifespan, and then attack my family members afterward?"
Vox nodded as though everything written there was perfectly reasonable. "Exactly."
Seeing his entitled expression, Lana could not help laughing. The sound immediately irritated him. "You seem very confident."
She tapped the unfinished signature at the bottom. "Looks like you've finally met your match."
Vox's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
Lana pointed toward the incomplete signature. "See this?"
Vox nodded reluctantly.
"If only you had signed a little more, things might have turned out differently."
Lana smiled.
"Fortunately for me, I don't make a habit of signing contracts without reading them."
As she spoke, she reached into her bag and pulled out a small recording device.
The room became quiet. Vox stared at the device.
