Chapter 253 - 253. My Name is Gluttony

Alan's heart trembled!

Feng was casting the second-level spell "Field of Honesty."

This was a genuine divine spell!

Alan had only seen it in the Meditation World.

That was in ancient times, when the gods still roamed the mortal world.

It was a spell used by paladins and priests to detect lies.

Feng , looking like a ghost, cast a divine spell with such ease...

"Alright! Now let's begin the quiz!"

Feng enveloped him in the "Field of Honesty."

"First question, tell me, do you like the world of warlocks?"

"Yes."

"Lie!"

"Second question, do you think it's reasonable for the warlocks to ban the worship of gods, crack down on religious associations, and prevent people from spreading their beliefs?"

"It's reasonable."

"Lie!"

"Third question, do you feel righteous indignation when you see the warlocks oppressing the common people, committing rape, looting, and all sorts of evil?"

"No."

"Lie!"

...

Feng had only asked three questions when she couldn't hold it in anymore.

"You idiot! Why won't you tell the truth?"

"You know I can tell you're lying, yet you keep spouting nonsense without blushing or beating your heart. What's your mentality?!"

Alan shrugged and said calmly, "I don't know you well. There's no reason to tell the truth right away."

Feng clutched her chest, looking as if she was about to get a heart attack.

After taking a deep breath, she regained her composure.

"All chosen Holy Spirits are deeply dissatisfied with the current state of the Warlock World, determined to change this unjust world, even at the cost of their own lives!"

"Before descending, Holy Spirits voluntarily bear a spiritual imprint. No matter what disguise they assume, deep down they harbor hatred for the major Warlock families that rule this world!"

"This is a crucial criterion for identifying Holy Spirits from Beyond Heaven!"

"You, as the founder of a newly emerging Warlock family, a vested interest, yet deep down you harbor contempt for the world you help rule, wishing to overthrow this corrupt and decadent world yourself. And yet you claim you're not a Holy Spirit?!"

Alan twitched his lips, wanting to speak but stopping himself.

Feng 's misunderstanding was enormous.

He hated certain customs and rules of the Warlock World, not because of some "spiritual imprint," but because they conflicted with his values from his previous life.

He wasn't a Holy Spirit from Beyond Heaven, shouldering a profound mission, determined to overthrow the rule of the Warlock families.

However, he couldn't explain his identity as a time traveler to Feng.

Rather than exaggerate, it was better to just let it go.

After all, Feng alone was unfathomable, and the "Holy Spirit Society" behind her was not someone he could afford to offend right now.

"Feng, I'm sorry, I honestly can't remember anything about the past."

"It's okay, just cooperate with me, and everything else will be easy."

Feng's tone softened upon noticing his change in attitude.

"What good will it bring me to cooperate with you?"

Alan raised a question that concerned him most.

If Fengand the organization behind her were to launch a revolution in the sorcerer world, overthrowing the corrupt rule of the sorcerer aristocracy,

Then Alan wouldn't mind being their guide.

After all, he didn't particularly identify with the sorcerer world's ruling class; rather, he felt more sympathetic towards the common people. However, the prerequisite is profitability!

Give him enough benefits, and he, the great philanthropist Panthers...

He could also embrace progressive ideas, betray the decadent class he came from, and become a holy spirit!

Feng remained silent for a long time.

He seemed to finally understand Allen's vulgar nature.

Talking to him about lofty ideals and dedication was like talking to a cow.

Feng was also a flexible person, understanding the principle of speaking the truth to different people and different things to different people.

"Okay... before you serve me, I'll give you some valuable information."

"You're a beastman, fused with the blood of an ogre wizard. You can follow both the evolutionary paths of Warcraft and Titans."

"The advancement paths you know of so far, like the Gaiding Celestial Clan and the Rakshasa Demonic Ghost, aren't even top-tier."

"If I were you, I'd choose between the Behemoth and the Titan as my path to advancement!"

"Behemoth and Titan...?"

Alan perked up immediately!

"Aren't these two legendary creatures extinct long ago?"

"There's no way to find a living Behemoth or Titan in reality, so how can one obtain their blood essence?"

"No, they exist, and they're right here in the Trial Space."

Feng 's voice held a hint of mystery.

"However, according to the normal trial process, you won't have any chance of encountering Behemoths or Titans."

"However, if you follow the clues I provide and enter the hidden secret realm, you will discover the door to a new world..."

Alan listened silently, his heart pounding.

"If you're truly capable of completing the advanced quests and successfully integrating the blood of a Behemoth or Titan, I can offer you some benefits," Feng continued.

"What benefits?"

"I'll take you to a sacred place for cultivation." Feng smiled slightly. "The cultivation efficiency there is much higher than in Origin City!"

"One day of cultivation there is equivalent to ten days in Origin City!"

"What about the time flow multiplier?" Alan asked cautiously.

If the time flow rate is also ten times that of Origin City, it wouldn't be as wonderful as it seems.

"The time flow multiplier is the same as in Origin City—ten times."

Feng replied calmly.

"The cultivation efficiency there is much higher... It's not just about wasting time; there are other mysteries I can't explain to you right now."

Alan had already activated his telepathy, but unfortunately, he couldn't detect her thoughts.

He could only rely on his intuition and experience, tending to believe she was telling the truth.

"Well, I hope we can have a pleasant cooperation."

Feng smiled with satisfaction and continued, "In private, I'll call you Alan, but for confidentiality, you must use a pseudonym in correspondence."

"Since you've forgotten your Holy Spirit name, choose a code name. I'll report it to the organization for your record."

"Code name... Handsome!" Alan said without hesitation.

"What do you mean?"

"Ordinary handsome."

"So superficial!" Feng shook her head repeatedly. "That's not good. Try something more stylish!"

Alan thought for a moment and asked tentatively, "

"Yesterday evening, I saw a giant squid swimming in the icy sea. Its size rivaled that of a glacier!"

"I bet it's the sea monster you're looking for."

Deep-sea squid?

Alan's heart skipped a beat.

According to the ancestral memories of the ogre wizard, deep-sea squid do have a faint trace of Leviathan bloodline.

Ordinary deep-sea squid are merely fifth-tier sea monsters.

However, there's a special kind of deep-sea squid called the Kraken, also known as the Kraken.

It's a direct descendant of the Leviathan, a true sea beast of the lineage!

A mature Kraken rivals the elemental behemoth, possessing strength of at least the late sixth tier!

Not only does it possess the power to overturn rivers and capsize ships, it also excels in both water and electricity magic.

When enraged, it shatters everything with thunder and lightning.

Controlling tsunamis and drowning the earth is terrifying!

Historical records show that the Kraken favors cold waters, living for years in the polar deep sea, enjoying offerings from evil fishmen and deifying himself as a sea god.

This habitat aligns with what Second Brother had said!

Challenging the Kraken will be difficult, but worth the effort!

Alan touched the copper ring on his hand, feeling more confident.

After all, with the Trial Ring protecting him, even if he can't defeat it, he can at least escape and teleport back to Origin Castle.

Thinking this way, Alan activated his "Navigation Bracelet" and found the coordinates Second Brother had provided in his reply.

Thousand Miles of Leisure Garden, teleport directly there!

…

Trial Space, Polar Sea.

A cold wind howled, stirring up piles of snow.

Glaciers of all sizes drifted across the vast ocean.

On the coast, piled with ageless ice and snow, it resembled a pale desert.

Occasionally, polar waterfowl and ferocious white bears could be seen.

Suddenly, the howling of wolves echoed from the icy shore.

The waterfowl, startled, flapped their wings and took to the air.

The white bears, also showing fear, hurriedly dived into the ice and hid.

Swish! Swish!

Two figures raced across the hardened snowfield!

The petite girl with glasses followed the bloodstains on the snow, tracking her wounded prey.

The Hound of Thorem, commonly known as the High-Level Winter Wolf, was the target of this hunt, pursued by the wolf girl Beiting!

She had already merged with the Winter Wolf's bloodline, evolving into a Winter Werewolf.

She had recently broken through to the fifth level of cultivation, advancing to the level of a Rakshasa Demon.

In her Rakshasa form, she still retained the characteristics of a winter werewolf, possessing inherent cold attributes and awakening the 5th-level magic "Ice Cone"!

A winter wolf Rakshasa possessed greater overall strength than ordinary beast-transformed Rakshasa.

However, Beiting wasn't satisfied.

Only after arriving in Origin City did she realize there was always someone better.

Not to mention the unfathomable Saint Demon Royal Family and housekeeper Mi Rui, the forty-two trialists in her same class alone possessed unique skills.

Beiting had always been proud, believing herself to be highly gifted.

However, the only problem was not knowing what was good, but comparing it to others.

Compared to the other trialists, she barely ranked in the middle.

The once proud daughter of heaven had fallen to mediocrity.

The proud and arrogant Princess of the Wolf Family was deeply shocked!

Even more terrifying was the fact that most of the participants whose strength was inferior to hers were younger, meaning they held greater potential.

They might not be as strong as her now, but that might not be the case in the future!

Competing with this group of geniuses put Beiting under immense pressure!

She didn't want to fall behind, or be eliminated after a hundred days, which would be disgraceful!

To achieve this, she had to work tirelessly, striving to improve her strength as much as possible during the hundred-day trial.

To achieve significant improvement in such a short period of time, there were only two paths: advancement or fusion!

Beiting had already advanced to the Rakshasa Demon, and hadn't yet found a warlock class that was significantly superior to it.

Furthermore, the Rakshasa Demon was closely tied to the Beast Cult's beliefs, making it difficult for her to simply switch classes.

Rather than switching to a different class, it was better to fuse other bloodlines with the Rakshasa Demon's foundation, striving for ever-higher perfection!

Beiting's chosen target was the High-Level Winter Wolf Bloodline.

She and Taffman searched across the frozen sea and snow.

After four days, they finally found a lone advanced winter wolf.

In their ecstasy, they impulsively attacked. As a result, they underestimated their prey's alertness.

The advanced winter wolf, sensing danger, immediately summoned "Ice Storm."

Under cover of falling snow and hail, it fled. Fortunately, Taffman intervened in time and injured the beast.

Beiting was able to follow the blood trail to this spot.

After a full morning of tracking, Beiting was exhausted and panting.

The wind and snow blew in her face, frost forming on her glasses.

She had to frequently remove her glasses to wipe off the frost.

Just then, a burly, bald man came running towards them.

He stretched out his long arms, lifted the wolf girl by the waist, and held her in his arms.

Beiting hugged the sturdy man's neck and smiled sweetly.

"Hubby, thank you for your hard work!"

Beiting's feelings for Taffman had long since transcended the boundaries of master and servant.

Officially, she was the eldest daughter, and Taffman was merely a favored concubine.

Privately, the two treated each other as husband and wife.

Taffman lifted Beiting up with one hand and wrapped her in his cloak, shielding her from the wind and snow.

He sprinted, following the bloodstains left on the snow by his prey.

Suddenly, a wolf howled from the front, faintly hinting at panic.

Soon, both of them sensed an unusually strong surge of magical energy!

Beiting's expression changed.

"Something's wrong!"

"Honey, it looks like someone's teleporting from the front!"

"It's just blocking the High Winter Wolf's escape route!"

"That beast is very cunning, always bullying the weak and fearing the strong!"

"Hearing it bark so frequently, I know... that uninvited guest is formidable and frightens it!"

"What should we do?" Taffman asked the wolf girl in a deep voice.

Beiting twisted her waist and slid out of her boyfriend's arms.

She quickly executed a series of hand gestures, unleashing a sphere of invisibility.

"Honey, walk softly. Let's go over and observe from the side."

Beiting stood on tiptoe and whispered in Taffman's ear.

"If it's another trial-taker trying to steal our prey, I'll hold them back while you take down the High-Level Winter Wolf and extract its bloodline essence. Then, join forces with me to deal with that troublemaker who showed up mid-sentence!"

Tafman nodded without objection.

Privately, through the mental connection established by the Forget-Me-Not spores, he instructed Junior Brother Allen not to harm his sister-in-law.

He knew that with Allen's current strength, if he really came to blows, he could kill Beiting with a single blow!

, okay?"

"What do you mean?"

"Everything tastes delicious."

"...Is that your style?"

"Is it not okay?"

"It seems your brain has truly been assimilated by your foolish host! Forget it, let's just use this!" Feng said impatiently. "How do you spell this word?"

Alan wrote it down for her to see.

Feng read it silently and wiped the sweat from her forehead.

Even in her Holy Spirit form, she didn't sweat.

"You can write my code name, right?" Alan asked kindly.

"Well... write it again. I'm sure I'll remember it this time!"

Feng said with a guilty conscience.

...

After seeing Feng off, it was still dark.

Since he couldn't sleep anyway, Alan followed Feng's instructions and teleported to the northern part of the Monster Mountain Range.

The teleportation point was located in the ruins of a military camp.

This place was once an orc fortress, destroyed by a tsunami.

Among the rubble, you could still find strange shells.

Alan activated his "Qi Sensing" and walked through the ruins.

The path leading to the fortress was filled with sand and gravel.

Alan pondered for a moment, activated his "Three-Phase Illusion," and transformed into a fluid form.

Like a ball of mercury, it rolled along the ground, untouched by a speck of dust.

Liquid Alan seeped into the cracks between the sand and gravel, passing through the silted area.

Inside the fortress, the dark hall was covered with dried mud.

A layer of salt frost condensed on the walls. Traces left behind by the receding tide.

‐‐ Qi sensing detected a cavity beneath the ground.

‐‐ This detail confirmed the accuracy of Feng's information.

‐‐ Alan, maintaining his liquid form, seeped downward through the cracks in the floor tiles.

‐‐ There truly was a secret room beneath the fortress!

‐‐ Puff!

‐‐ Liquid Alan flowed down from the ceiling, transforming back into human form the moment he hit the ground.

‐‐ Humanoid skeletons were scattered around his feet.

‐‐ Thick joints in the limbs, and fangs were exposed in the skulls.

‐‐ These features indicated that the deceased were orcs.

‐‐ The air in the underground chamber was foul.

‐‐ The stench of ashes mixed with decay was pungent.

‐‐ Alan simply transformed into gaseous form.

‐‐ In gaseous or liquid form, he could maintain normal physiological activities without needing to breathe.

Like an elemental creature!

In the center of the underground chamber stood an ancient bronze altar.

Surrounding the altar were seven animal-headed lampstands.

Alan floated over to investigate.

The whale oil in the lampstands had long since dried up.

Next to each lampstand lay a massive, gray skeleton.

Judging from the skeleton's shape, it seemed to belong to a gigantic aquatic creature.

Alan identified the vertebrae of a whale and a sea serpent.

There was also a gigantic mermaid skeleton, likely from a sea giant.

The other bizarre shells and fishbone-like bones made it impossible to imagine what they had looked like in life.

This chamber was the orcs' underground temple.

The orc army fought to the bitter end against the sea giants, who, accompanied by the tsunami, drove sea monsters to invade the fortress.

In despair, the orcs held a grand sacrifice here.

They attempted to use the flesh and blood of sea monsters and sea giants to activate the altar and awaken the ancestral spirits.

The results showed that the orcs' last hope was unfulfilled.

Before the sacrificial ceremony was complete, the seawater rushed in, drowning them alive.

Thousands of years later, the waters receded, and this underground temple resurfaced.

Alan walked over to the rusted bronze altar and examined the runes engraved on it.

These were the unique symbols used in ancient orcish rituals.

Even today, even a true orc shaman might not be able to recognize them, but Alan could read them fluently.

This was due to his training in the meditation world.

The ancestral spirit of the ogre wizard that Alan had merged with lived in the era before the Great Flood.

The memories of the ancestral spirits contain all the knowledge regarding the sacrificial rituals, including these obscure and mysterious runes.

Alan recalled and deciphered them. Sunrise and sunset, a day passed in the blink of an eye.

Alan immersed himself in his study, oblivious to the passage of time.

"Huh..."

He slowly exhaled.

A sense of relief washed over Alan.

After spending a whole day, he finally understood all the runes.

This altar is the gateway to "Giant Beast Absolute Ridge"!

Giant Beast Absolute Ridge is a hidden secret realm, the dormant place of the ancient Behemoth.

Only by meeting specific conditions can one be transported to Giant Beast Absolute Ridge via the altar.

Orcs or Warcraft bloodline sorcerers can complete the subsequent sacrificial ritual there and challenge the awakened Behemoth.

Successful challenges allow advancement to Behemoths, or the ability to acquire Behemoth bloodline essence and fuse with them.

Beastmen can transform into beasts.

Rounding it off, they can also be considered a type of magical beast.

Thus, beastmen can also advance to or fuse with Behemoths!

Entering the Behemoth Ridge is no easy task.

The sea monster skeletons scattered around the altar hint at this.

The Behemoths utterly hate sea monsters!

The same is true in reverse.

The sea monsters, likewise, regard the land Behemoths as their mortal enemies and a grave threat.

Just as dragons and giants hate each other,

The confrontation between sea and land monsters has lasted for countless centuries.

Until a catastrophic upheaval in the Warlock World, when most of the land was swallowed by the sea and land creatures could only survive on scattered islands, the war between the sea and land beasts finally came to an end.

Constrained by the drastic environmental changes, the Behemoths fell into irreversible decline.

The sea monsters known as "Leviathans" seized upon this opportunity and rose to power, hunting down their remaining enemies.

To this day, the Warlock World remains an archipelago, with ocean occupying over 90% of its surface area.

The deep ocean remains the domain of the Leviathans, while the Behemoths are nearly extinct.

Only in secret realms like the Giant Beast Ridge can dormant, fossilized prehistoric creatures be found.

To enter the Giant Beast Ridge, Allen must hunt a sea monster and perform a sacrificial ritual.

The rules of the sacrifice are quite strict! Sacrifice at least a fifth-tier sea monster's heart to awaken a Behemoth and gain a chance to challenge.

Ordinary Behemoths are similar to the enhanced versions of the Totem Behemoths Allen encountered in the Meditation World, with combat power no lower than that of an early-tier sixth-tier Behemoth.

In addition, there are six even more powerful elemental Behemoths.

Sky Behemoth!

Earth Behemoth!

Volcano Behemoth!

Glacier Behemoth!

Thunder Behemoth!

Raging Wave Behemoth!

Six elemental Behemoths possess the attributes of wind, earth, fire, ice, lightning, and water, respectively.

These Behemoths have higher growth potential and a higher ceiling than ordinary Behemoths, and can also awaken magic corresponding to their elemental attributes!

To awaken an elemental Behemoth, sacrifice at least a sixth-tier sea monster!

Sea serpents, Naga mistresses, deep-sea squids, giant octopuses, and hydras... all qualify as fifth-tier sea monsters, making them easy for Allen to deal with.

Sixth-tier sea monsters, considered distant descendants of Leviathan, are no less formidable!

Furthermore, neither the altar inscriptions nor the ogre wizard's ancestral memories provide the clues Allen desperately needs...

Where exactly should he go to find a sixth-tier sea monster?

Alan's first thought was the butler, Miri.

This cunning golem, while boastful, is actually quite tight-lipped.

Getting information from him would cost a fortune!

Even if he paid, the information the butler provided was vague and ambiguous, like a riddle.

Alan had suffered losses before and didn't want to waste his money again.

Compared to that profiteer, his family and friends were more reliable.

Among the 43 trial-takers, Allen's cultivation wasn't top-tier.

But when it came to networking, he was second to none!

Every faction participating in the trial, with the exception of the Dragon Vein faction, had his informants.

It was time to put his connections to use.

Alan extracted a trace amount of Forget-Me-Not spores and sent a mass "Wind Message" to inquire about the sea monster among his friends and family.

Soon, he received a reply from Taffman.

"Junior Brother, come to the Polar Sea as soon as possible!"

"Betting and I are hunting down the Hound of Solem!"

"Yesterday evening, I saw a giant squid swimming in the icy sea. Its size rivaled that of a glacier!"

"I bet it's the sea monster you're looking for."

Deep-sea squid?

Alan's heart skipped a beat.
