Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Genesis

Sengo..... No he was known as Yuki Kinatarou.

Even though he had been cast away from his rich family and sent to live on his own he felt like he had hit the jackpot.

He stood outside staring at his new home in front of him.

It was a one story building, the landlady and her niece lived on the ground floor while they had just rented out the first floor to Yuki.

Yuki carried his bags and went straight upstairs. The room was 150 square feet, it also had a kitchen space and bathroom. It was totally empty, no ceiling fan, or air conditioner, just one light bulb that had lived more that it's life span. There was also a thin mattress at the end of the room.

"Wow!" Yuki breathed, the dim light reflecting in his wide eyes. To anyone else, it was a cramped box. To him, it was the first place he'd ever stood where he wasn't a prisoner. "It's... perfect."

He was more than excited, he was only sixteen years old but he was already living on his own.

"It's time!" Yuki closed his door and threw his bags aside. "It's time to test my kizo." Yuki was referring to his super power. That's right super power.

In this world most of the population was blessed with super powers they called kizo. It was totally normal for a person to be able to run faster than a car, be strong enough to break concrete walls and even fly. Anyone who had a kizo got it from birth, it was something that manifested as they got older.

Before Yuki tested his kizo he took a small black box out of his bag and placed it at the top right corner of the room. It was an AI system that was created by his family for them only. It could assess the strength of his kizo, give him advice on how to use it properly or he could just have normal conversations about food with it. It was mostly used to handle the family businesses because of it's vast knowledge.

"Kira?" Yuki called out. "Are you there? I mean, are you on? Sorry like....."

"I'm here Yuki." A beautiful feminine voice came from the black box.

"Good. I'm going to release some ki now. Could you help me assess it and tell me my level please?" Yuki asked nicely while taking off his shirt.

A person's kizo is powered by their ki. Yep, ki. It's the circulating life force energy that dwells in all living things.

Yuki released his ki from his body at full force, the temperature of the room dropped slightly. The light bulb flickered and frost formed on it.

"I got it." Kira the AI informed.

"Okay tell me." Yuki sat on the floor in a crossed legged position waiting for an answer.

"I accurately assessed your ki and I've come to the conclusion that you're a mere Acolyte." Kira stated.

"Acolyte, that means I'm pretty strong right?" Yuki asked while rubbing his chin.

"Nope. It's the weakest level in the whole power scale."

Yuki's face turned grim. He had never checked where he was on the power scale and it turns out he's in the weakest level.

"What other levels are there?" Yuki asked in curiosity. He had been locked away in an empty room for most of his life so it was safe to say that he was dumb.

"The power scale is divided into three parts; Alpha, Beta and Gamma. Each part is further divided into six levels each, you're currently at the lowest level in the Gamma part. The levels in Gamma include:

1. Aethelgard

2.Archon

3.Luminary

4. Paragon

5. Adept

6. Acolyte.

You're probably on the same level as a bag of trash."

Yuki's jaw dropped at Kira's last statement. He wondered about the other parts but didn't ask.

"With you being an Acolyte I'm sure an ordinary human with no kizo could hold their own against you in a fight. I'm not even sure if there's a single kizo user who's an Acolyte."

"Okay! I get it." He lay flat on the floor and heaved a sigh of disappointment.

"How can I get stronger?"

"Well you can start by exercising." Kira calmly stated.

"I've been exercising for years inside that room I was locked in."

"You can get stronger through actual combat experience. Your body can't produce much ki, you have to learn to utilize the little ki you have. And you should also use your kizo in ways that fit you best."

"Combat experience, utilize ki, and use my kizo in ways that fit me best." Yuki had an ice based kizo. He was still very weak so all he could do was create tiny ice cubes.

"Lord Satoshi enrolled you in Kyorin Highschool as a second year student." Kira informed.

"Second year? I've never even attended school before?" Yuki pouted but soon after stars appeared in his eyes. His expression became overjoyed.

"What's with that stupid look on your face?"

"You know for an AI, you're surprisingly grouchy." Yuki answered. "You said I could get stronger through actual combat. I'm sure there will be kizo users at Kyorin Highschool, that's my chance to get stronger." Yuki got up and thanked his stars that his older brother had enrolled him in school, although he was going with the intention of getting into fights and not to learn. "When do I start?"

"Next week Monday. You'll recieve your uniform upon arrival."

"How would they get my size right?" Yuki asked in curiosity.

"I sent them your measurement."

"You pervert, you've been sizing me up without my permission. You dirty minded AI." Yuki covered his body with his arms.

"No way! You're just a puny kid. If I was human I would go for someone stronger and not a weakling like you." Kira's tone changed slightly, Yuki could imagine that if she was a human she would be blushing.

"Whatever. I'm gonna spend this week using my kizo to do more than make ice cubes, I'll also boost my workout routine." Yuki pushed his black hair backwards revealing an incredibly handsome face.

He had light blue eyes that seemed magical, he wore glasses which made him look like a nerd, his black hair reached his eyes but didn't obstruct his vision at all. And his body, it was fit, he could pass up as an athlete. For a sixteen year old he was tall, standing at 5'10" (178cm).

He stared at his reflection in cracked mirror of the bathroom.

"This is my genesis." Yuki spoke in a tone that oozed of determination.

"What a dumb thing to say." Kira commented.

"I really hate you."
