It's been days since we completed the mission. Tatsumi has been training with Sheele while I've been training with Bulat.
Nothing much really happened during my training with Bulat, except for the fact that he's a complete battle maniac and would constantly insist we spar every now and then and also do five hundred pushups.
Of course, during our sparring, I don't always go all out but I have to admit, he's quite skilled.
"Okun, this is the last day of your training with me. I'll be sparring with you today using Incursio and I won't hold back, heheh," Bulat laughed as he unsealed Incursio and pointed the large sword-spear at me.
Is this guy mocking me? I've been pretending and enduring him beating and tossing me around for the past few days. It seems like he's a bit sadistic and intentionally doing that to me. Well, how about I give him a taste of his own medicine?
Suddenly, I let out a sigh.
"Are you sure about going all out?" I asked, clasping my hands together as I cracked them.
"Heh, haha. So you mean you haven't been going all out?" he asked while laughing, which only infuriated me further.
This guy thinks I'm joking.
"I didn't want to injure you as my senior. But now it seems like you're intentionally thrashing me around even though you call it training. My eyes don't deceive me," I said sternly and Bulat laughed even harder.
I see…
Suddenly, I picked up my sword from the ground, still in its sheath, and strapped it around my waist.
"Heh, you're planning to use only your sword?" Bulat asked, chuckling at my actions.
But I didn't say anything and simply shifted my right leg backwards, my left knee pressing forward while my upper body bent slightly, my hand tightly wrapped around the hilt of my sword.
"Oi, do you even realize that an ordinary sword can't hurt me?" Bulat mocked again, brandishing his spear this time as if ready to attack, but I didn't respond.
"HIYAAAA!"
Bulat shouted as he sprinted forward, and in that split second—
Sanguine Dance; First Form.
Suddenly, I dashed forward and drew my sword in less than a split second, slashing across Bulat's chest as I blitzed past him.
BOOOOM!
A thunderous boom echoed afterward because I had moved past the speed of sound, and when I looked at my sword, it had already shattered into tiny pieces, leaving only the hilt. At the same time, my hands vibrated from the force I exerted when slashing against his chest.
I also breathed heavily because I put all my strength into that strike.
I turned around and walked back, noticing Bulat muttering to himself.
"H-How… with an ordinary weapon?"
When I reached him, I saw that a huge chunk of Incursio had been chipped off where I struck.
"Haaa, I'm sorry about that, Bulat," I said with a deep bow. I already passed the message anyway.
"Haa~ There's no need to apologize, Okun. I underestimated you. Perhaps I got too cocky because you were my junior. To think you could damage Incursio without using any Teigu… it has never happened before. Don't apologize anymore, Incursio will repair itself," Bulat said as he unequipped Incursio, sealing it back into its sword form.
"You win, Okun. But… why… why are you hiding your strength? I felt death for a moment. I felt a nostalgic feeling… reminding me of that crazy woman," Bulat asked, clenching his fists while looking at me for answers.
