"What did you do?" Crystal instinctively felt that the failure of the Locktooth Dog's teleportation ability was closely related to the man in front of her, although she had no idea how he had done it.
"What do you mean? Is teleportation prohibited?" Luke glanced at little Becky, who was sitting up on the bed with sleepy eyes, rubbing his eyes with his little fleshy hands, and winked at Venom, who subconsciously moved a distance towards the door.
Venom was reluctant when he received Luke's signal, but under Luke's gaze, he compromised and jumped to where little Becky was.
"We need to talk somewhere else." Luke stepped out the door first, then motioned for Crystal to follow. As for Venom, who was trying his best to coax the awakened little Becky back to sleep, that was not within Luke's consideration.
Two people and a dog sat down in the living room.
"My name is Crystal. I'm an Inhuman who has awakened abilities in Attilan. It's Locktooth, my inseparable companion. Are you also an Inhuman? What are your abilities? How did you manage to stop Locktooth from teleporting?" Crystal just sat down and started asking questions continuously. It seemed that she would not give up easily without getting an answer.
"Inhumans? No, I know the Inhumans exist, but I'm not an Inhuman. I'm just an ordinary person who has mastered a little bit of technology." Luke sat down opposite the crystal.
The locktooth dog squatting at Crystal's feet sensitively felt some kind of threat from Luke, and its throat occasionally made some low and long threatening sounds. After Crystal stroked and soothed its big head with her palm, it calmed down a lot.
"Locktooth Dog is very afraid of you, so you must be a very powerful person. Are you the most powerful person on this planet? Also, you haven't told me how you managed to make its ability ineffective?" Crystal persisted.
"I just used some of the tools in the data dimension to modify some of the rules and logic regarding space in the surrounding area." Luke explained simply.
"Do you understand what he said?" Crystal looked at the Locktooth Dog with a puzzled look. The Locktooth Dog hurriedly shook its huge head when asked.
"It's kind of complicated to explain. Do you know anything about magic?" Luke asked.
"I know. I've read some books about your place. Are you a wizard?" Crystal opened her eyes wide, nodded, and asked curiously.
"Just think of it as me using some kind of magic to suppress its teleportation ability in this area," Luke said readily. This effect achieved through the use of data dimensions, if not traced back to its source, would indeed seem like magic to most people. It's just that compared to the immediacy of other magic, it's more persistent. But in reality, it's just an alternative technological application of knowledge and data. He looked at the man and the dog: "Now, what I want to know is, how did you get here and end up in this bedroom?"
"We didn't mean to harm that child!" Crystal explained hastily, realizing belatedly. "Attilan, the city where the Inhumans live, experienced a shameful rebellion. Locktooth and I used his abilities to teleport some of the victims to your planet, but when it was my turn, Locktooth's teleportation went awry."
"Accident?" Luke frowned.
"Yes, it said it was affected by some force, and its coordinates were inexplicably altered," Crystal said sincerely. "This has never happened before, and Locktooth Dog's teleportation abilities have never caused any problems."
Luke subconsciously glanced in the direction of Little Becky's bedroom. Was it the spatial energy Little Becky unconsciously radiating that caused all this? After all, given Little Becky's affinity for spatial energy, even if Luke had taken numerous protective measures beforehand, he might not be able to perfectly control the energy that was gradually resurfacing within Little Becky.
"I noticed you mentioned teleporting to our planet? Are you also extraterrestrial visitors?" Luke looked at her thoughtfully. He hadn't really done any in-depth, formal research on the Inhumans.
Crystal felt a chill run down her spine at Luke's gaze and instinctively hugged Locktooth's neck, which was as thick as an adult's waist. "We are the natives of this planet. However, for some reason, our city, Attilan, has been constantly relocating. Now, Attilan is on the moon. Please believe us. Locktooth and I truly have no ill intentions. We simply want to avoid persecution from some people and seek some help."
"I believe it." Luke nodded.
"Then can you let us leave?" Crystal's face lit up and she asked happily.
"No." Luke shook his head. Seeing the surprised expression on Crystal's face froze after his reply, he said nonchalantly, "Don't worry, there's an organization that specializes in dealing with issues like yours. I'll pass you over to them. You can tell them if you have any comments or needs. They're professionals in handling similar situations!"
"Arrest us and put us in jail?" Crystal subconsciously clenched her fist. Although she didn't want to provoke a mysterious figure like Luke, she wouldn't surrender if she had no choice. She still needed to find her companions she'd teleported here, as well as her sister! She couldn't accept being captured, or having her personal freedom severely restricted.
If the Locktooth Dog's ability had not been sealed by the man opposite her using some unknown means, she wouldn't have to sit here and talk so much to him, answering every question and even revealing her secrets.
Crystal shuddered, realizing something was amiss. She hadn't resisted Luke's words, or even held anything back. While this had been her nature under the protection of her sister and the others, after the Attilan rebellion, she'd become wary of both familiar and unfamiliar people. However, this wariness melted away like snow under the heat of Luke.
Is this a bit similar to the psychological suggestion caused by some of the Inhumans who are good at psychic abilities?
"Why do you think so? It's just a negotiation between two organizations. If you need to find partners and seek help, then my advice is not to be averse to such contact. Believe me, even if you avoid it this time, you will definitely have to deal with that organization in the future. It will either be you or the person who succeeded in the rebellion you mentioned." Luke stood up. He had received data information that a Quinjet was about to land not far away.
"You are not an ordinary person at all. Ordinary people don't have magic or the ability of mental suggestion." Crystal looked up at Luke and said dissatisfiedly.
"I'm just telling the truth. What you call mental suggestion, I think it's more accurate to say it's the guidance of certain emotions." Luke had casually thrown out a metal ring, and before Crystal and the big dog could react, it snapped and locked onto the big dog's forelimbs.
"What did you do?" Crystal suddenly stood up from his seat, and the Locktooth Dog's sharp teeth bit down on the bracelet-like equipment on its forelimb. However, his sharp teeth, which could chew metal effortlessly, were unable to do anything to the metal buckle forged from an unknown alloy.
"It's just a small device that temporarily limits its abilities. Once its internal energy is depleted, it will automatically fall away and disappear. It won't cause any harm," Luke said. It's true that Stark's Hell Alloy is truly impressive, with excellent enchantment capabilities! While not as good as Uru Gold, it's mass-produced. Using it as the main material for the new mass-produced Mind Ring would significantly improve its performance! While still not as powerful as the custom version, it's far superior to the Beast Series.
Coulson, whose hair was thinning and whose forehead was already bald, appeared in the living room with his men. After greeting Luke, he walked up to Crystal and said, "I'm Phil Coulson, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and to you, Miss Inhuman, I think we need to change to a more formal setting to conduct some in-depth intelligence exchanges. What do you think?"
…
Moon.
Attilan.
This place had just experienced a bloody purge, with blood of all colors congealed on the ground, and those being cleaned up poured water on it to clean it up bit by bit. The chaotic city had won, and after clearing out a group of disobedient people, a certain degree of order had been restored.
Maximus successfully drove out his brother Black Bolt and took the highest position in the city. But this did not make him feel satisfied, because his brother and some of his staunch opponents were taken to the atrium by Crystal using the power of the Locktooth Dog.
"What should we do next?" A female alien came to Maximus' side. She was a loyal supporter of Maximus's rebellion. "Those rebels fled to the courtyard. Should we send people to look for them?"
"Of course, let Modis lead the team. His abilities are dangerous enough." Maximus said with a faint smile. "Also, notify the human leaders and ask them to help find the rebels! If they refuse, declare war on them!"
"Declare war?" The female alien was a little surprised.
"Yes, declare war. Sheltering Attilan's rebels—that's a good excuse, isn't it? Look at them, weak, stupid, and good for nothing, yet they occupy rich land and resources. My rigid and foolish brother is content to live in seclusion, but I'm not. Inhumans are supposed to be nobler than mortal humans, and they should serve us!" Maximus' words revealed no disdain for humanity. In fact, according to his plan, after dealing with his brother's men, it would be time to wage war against the humans of Midgard.
"What if they agree?" the alien woman asked back.
"Agreed? Then have them kill my brother or send him back," Maximus said calmly. "His genes will strengthen our forces. We can then find any excuse to wage war against humans. Go ahead! Let's see what those humans choose."
"I understand." The alien woman nodded.
Maximus sat in the empty room, watching the alien woman's back disappear outside the door, and slowly closed his eyes.
Everyone called him Mad Maximus because many of his behaviors and mental states seemed abnormal.
The Inhumans are a race that has existed for a very long time. They possess powerful superpowers and have developed powerful technology over a long period of time, as well as a unique history, culture and social system of their own.
At some point in their lives, they undergo a ritual to acquire various supernatural powers. This ritual is centered around the energy of the Terrigen Mist. They call this ritual process of gaining supernatural powers through the Terrigen Mist an Awakening. However, this Awakening ritual is not without risk. While granting Inhumans various supernatural powers, the Terrigen Mist can also cause genetic damage and deformities.
If before awakening, the Inhumans looked no different from ordinary humans, then after awakening, all kinds of strange and deformed awakeners would appear, and some of them even had their life forms changed.
The leader of the Inhumans was forced to implement a breeding program to mitigate these mutations.
According to the rules of the Attilan Inhumans, residents are allowed to freely develop their own thoughts and genes, and decide whether to participate in the awakening ceremony. However, with the exception of the royal family, a resident's status is truly determined by their awakening ability! Once designated, the awakened person is instantly promoted from a lowly individual to a class akin to nobility, and their position and class within the tribe can never be changed.
Maximus had also participated in the awakening ceremony with his brother Black Bolt. His brother had gained powerful energy manipulation abilities and could convert energy into various sound waves to carry out indiscriminate attacks. Therefore, he could not open his mouth. Once he did, it would be a disaster for everyone around him.
His awakening was not obvious. He gained a certain degree of telepathic ability and could enter, paralyze or control the minds of others. He could also implant memories or cause short-term amnesia in the target. However, his mental state was also unstable, which greatly affected his ability.
Until one day, he was connected to a strange dimensional world. After spending a huge amount of time to figure out some of the rules of this strange dimension, he invested his intelligence and Attilan's knowledge system into it and obtained corresponding energy feedback from it!
The crystallization of the spirit!
A unique item capable of significantly boosting his mental strength and calming his emotional and mental fluctuations! With it, Maximus's psychic abilities have been significantly enhanced. This ability to continue improving after the awakening ritual is extremely rare in the history of the Inhumans!
