Chapter 225 - War of the Realms: Ether and the Abyss

Queen of Heaven, defeated.

No one could have anticipated this scene; even Odin was taken aback. He had previously recognized Luke, not only for his status but also for his potential to grow and help his foolish son in the future. But he had never imagined that his strength would grow to this point in such a short period of time.

Although the creation before him wasn't Luke himself, it was clearly a form of technology he possessed. Even though Odin had repeatedly overestimated Luke's growth rate in his mind, it seemed he had significantly underestimated it.

The queen defeated the war priest in a frenzied battlefield, especially since the opponent was epically strengthened by the War of the Realms started by Malekith at the beginning of the war. This is enough to prove the power and terror of the creation in front of her.

Malekith felt the Queen of Heaven's breath and vitality become weaker, and then disappeared together. He turned his head in shock and looked at the area where her breath disappeared.

Looking around, there was nothing there. Apart from the shattered pieces of armor and the broken queen's sword, there was only a silent stranger who looked like a robust old man standing there.

As if sensing Malekith's gaze, Guang Luke's indifferent eyes met his.

"What's going on? I can't feel the Queen's breath and the blessing of war!" In the distance, an angel suddenly spoke in panic.

"I can't even feel the Queen's life force anymore." Another angel spoke.

"Fernande, what exactly happened to the Queen?" The surrounding angels looked at their highest commander Fernande. As the military and political chief of the Kingdom of Heaven, Fernande's expression was extremely complicated at this moment.

"The Queen is dead," he said.

"How is it possible? How could the queen die on the battlefield! Who can kill her?" An angel widened his eyes in horror when he heard this, and subconsciously retorted to Fernando.

"That's the truth. I really can't feel the Queen's life breath anymore. Even more terrifying is that I can sense that the priesthood of war no longer belongs to the Queen." Fernande suppressed his complex emotions and said in a cold voice.

As the Queen's subordinate, he was loyal to her and to the Heavenly Dimension, but at this moment, he felt an irrepressible joy and sadness in his heart. He thought of his lover.

Malekith: I can help you defeat Odin, destroy Asgard, and let the Asgardians experience what Heaven has been through for thousands of years. But I need you to contribute a little, and let me experience the feeling of killing an angel.

The one chosen by lot to be sacrificed to Malekith was Fernando's lover, Annamni.

Out of respect for the Queen of Heaven, Fernando is willing to fight for her temporarily, but out of hatred for her, Fernando is happy to see her defeat and death.

The moment his lover died, he had a premonition of his own possible betrayal. He wanted to know who had killed the queen on the battlefield!

Because the situation on the Queen's side was unclear and her life or death was unknown, the angels in the Heavenly Kingdom were in a certain confusion. They didn't know whether they should continue to fight.

After all, with the Queen's aura and blessings gone, their combat effectiveness was also affected to a certain extent. However, the demons of Hell, who were their opponents, smelled the chaos and fear on their side and intensified their offensive.

"I'm going to the Queen's battlefield to see the situation!" Fernande chopped a demon with a sword, shouted loudly, and then flew towards the battlefield between kings without looking back.

Along the way, angels kept breaking free from their opponents and following closely beside him with flapping wings.

After traveling through the air for over a minute, they finally came upon a battlefield in utter devastation, its terrain dramatically altered. The familiar landscape was gone, now filled with soaring dust and violent energy. Bottomless gullies, along with the subterranean magma, gurgled upwards, emitting billowing waves of heat. The air was thick with steam, distorting the light. For a moment, the place had a certain familiar, sulfur-filled, inhospitable atmosphere of hell.

Three figures, moving at speeds too fast to be discerned by the naked eye, continuously collided within the area. Each collision was a massive explosion of energy, energy scrambling energy. This area had become a forbidden zone for only the strongest. Even angels, whose physical prowess far surpassed that of mortals in the Atrium, would be dragged about by the chaotic energy, becoming unable to control themselves and even severely injured upon entering this area.

For example, an unlucky guy who was thrown over would be directly swept away by the chaotic and active energy in this area. Blood would spurt out of his body, as if he had been cut into pieces in an instant. His skeleton was washed out, and then under the erosion of energy, he would be like weathered gravel. Although he seemed intact, any random external pressure would destroy his body and blow it away with the wind.

The angels sensed the danger and flew around the area in the sky, but none dared to step in. They could only patrol the sky continuously, trying their best to find any trace of their queen under the influence of the chaotic energy.

"Odin!"

Malekith cried out in anger. In response, a divine spearpoint hurled from the void. Aether particles formed a barrier, blocking Odin's eternal spear, Gungnir.

The energy effects of the Aether are ever-changing, hailed as the supreme power beyond the four elements. Especially when powered by a Cosmic Stone, it possesses the power to warp and tamper with reality. Malekith wouldn't be in such a state of disarray against any other opponent. When it comes to deception and concealment, Loki is no match for Malekith, who has mastered the Aether.

However, it was his old rival, his old enemy, Odin, the God King of Asgard, who was extremely familiar with the energy of ether particles and mastered various targeted restraint methods. Odin always managed to find his true identity, and Gungnir, known as the spear of certainty, would inevitably appear before him at the moment of need.

The three-eyed monster who had dealt with the Queen of Heaven could always find his true form and give him just the right amount of attacks that were impossible to avoid. Malekith now desperately needed a helper, one who could hold back either Odin or Luke.

As expected, Light Luke teleported behind Malekith the moment he blocked Gungnir's attack. His four arms unleashed countless blows, each one landing on Malekith's back. The blows shattered his dark armor, causing it to crumble under the weight. The chaotic high energy surrounding him distorted the space, and even those with the ability to teleport wouldn't dare use it in this area unless they were masters of spatial power. Malekith's constant release of aether particles exacerbated the situation, but it still failed to contain Light Luke.

He continued to leisurely utilize his teleportation abilities, ignoring the chaotic energies surrounding him. Even Malekith's reality-altering power, centered around the Aether, had no effect on Guang Luke. He possessed at least one energy core, a persona equivalent to the Aether, resisting and blocking the Aether's power.

Just like Odin once was.

An icy cold wave, bearing bone-piercing chill, roared in from afar like a tidal wave. Everything in its path was forcibly draped in a layer of ice, leaving living things unable to even struggle. Their souls, along with their bodies, were frozen into silent ice sculptures.

The steaming hot ground was suddenly cooled by the incoming cold wave, and the chaotic and violent energy around it became sluggish. In an instant, the area within a hundred miles was transformed into a piercing glacier by the cold wave. The terrain was forcibly altered once again.

"Raul!!" Malekith felt the biting cold on his body, but instead of being surprised, he was happy and shouted to an extremely tall frost giant.

King Raoul of Jotunheim stepped onto the battlefield.

"Is that woman dead? It's really not worth looking forward to at all." Raul exuded a strong chill all over his body. He glanced around and found that the life breath of the Queen of Heaven had indeed disappeared from the battlefield, and said sarcastically.

Malekith's face darkened. Before Odin's appearance, he had never considered himself to be losing this war. Whether in numbers or strength, his side held an absolute advantage. He had longed to bring Ragnarok to Asgard. Unfortunately, things hadn't gone as he wished. Ever since Luke's arrival, all his plans and designs had completely spiraled out of control.

A huge variable is enough to reverse all unfavorable situations.

He hadn't imagined that the Queen of Heaven, having undergone numerous enhancements and restored to peak strength, still on the battlefield, would be defeated so quickly in her battle with Light Luke! In less than two hours! For an opponent of their level to defeat a peer, it would inevitably be a protracted battle. Even with an absolute advantage, this was true. If the opponent was determined to escape, it would be difficult to stop them.

Didn't Odin want to get rid of him once and for all after he sealed the Aether particles?

It just can't be solved.

Unless he really wants to die.

"Odin!" Raul indeed went straight for Odin. As a war-mongering maniac, Odin's enemies spanned the entire Nine Realms. The Queen of Heaven wasn't the only one who harbored a deep hatred for Odin and Asgard.

Raul, whose Ice Box was stolen, was also one of the victims that year.

"Don't try to steal from me!" Malekith rushed towards Odin first, but Raul was no slower than him. The ice was raging, even the space seemed to freeze. Malekith and Odin were instantly covered in a layer of frost. Raul attacked Odin first after being the last to strike.

Malekith cursed inwardly. While he was the leader of the coalition, aside from the Queen of Heaven, the other collaborators were all unruly. Their sole purpose was to overthrow Odin's rule, carve up his territory, and replace him as the new master of the Nine Realms. Therefore, he couldn't command Raul or Surtur. Only the Queen of Heaven, out of gratitude, cooperated with his actions.

With Raul abducting Odin, Malekith was left with only Luke the Light to face. If possible, he would have preferred to fight Odin and hand Luke the Light over to Raul. While Odin might be more powerful than Luke the Light, he knew his old foe well enough to ensure his safety. Luke the Light, however, was a complete stranger to him, and with the Queen of Heaven in such a precarious position, Malekith would have been even more cautious.

A fiery, brilliant, and deadly ray burst forth from Light Luke's open palm, launching the first attack. The energy contained within the beam was powerful enough to penetrate the core of a normal planet. Malekith, harnessing the power of the aether, forcibly deflected the ray's direction. A dazzling rainbow of light streaked across the sky before vanishing.

Malekith retaliated tit for tat, wanting to erase a part of Light Luke, but the power of reality modification poured into Light Luke's body and inevitably encountered powerful resistance, which offset each other with a certain force.

Under the overflow of high-dimensional energy, Malekith even found it difficult to modify the reality parameters around Luke.

Light Luke opened his four arms and lifted them up to the sky. The energy core in front of his chest provided him with almost endless power. A bright and huge beam of light shot up into the sky, piercing through the sky and revealing a dark place.

Malekith instinctively felt a certain threat, which came from both the light Luke opposite him and the mysterious world that was opened up in the sky by him.

A massive black stain dripped down from the hole in the sky, seemingly slowly but rapidly. Simultaneously, a powerful and maddening force erupted from the hole, along with the black stain. For the first time, a maddening whispering sound appeared on this planet, causing a strong energy contamination to all objects on the planet, whether living or dead.

Even Malekith, momentarily aware of the whispers, felt a shift in his body. He quickly harnessed the power of the aether to forcibly reverse the changes and block out the voices. To his dismay, even the aether couldn't completely block out the reputation-staining power of the whispers; it merely reduced it to a tolerable level. The impact remained, but it wouldn't affect his mind or body in the short term.

The black stain stretched out a long tail, but eventually it fell to the ground like a drop of black water. The stain splashed and the entire frosty ground was covered with a layer of black energy.

A tall, dark figure emerged from the stain. The moment he saw the other person, Malekith's eyes widened and he blurted out, "Algrim?"
