Chapter 71
"Absolutely not," Shikaku rubbed his head as he stood on the roof of the Hokage office, and a few hours ago, he had thought that everything was over, but in the end, his son and his teammate had managed to pull off a miracle and neutralize Minato of all people.
Minato, the man who had single-handedly decided teh Third Great Ninja War. But somehow they had managed to do teh impossible, and then one miracle followed another as the four Hokage returned to the village and with a single technique, Shodaime-sama repaired all of the damage done to it, while healing up every injured shinobi.
It was a miracle that only a man of his caliber could perform, and amongst those who had recovered was his own granddaughter, the Lady Tsunade. Their Godaime Hokage.
"You have no choice," she replied like a belligerent child, and Shikaku was getting tired of being bullied by Kages.
"The enemy that Jiraiya and the rest of the Kages face is something we cannot even fathom. I must go," and as per his plans, Jiraiya-sama had a Hiraishin seal on him as well, which could be used to provide aid, and now she wished to join him in battle.
"But you have just recovered yourself, Lady Tsunade," he countered, but she cracked her neck.
"I will be fine," she answered with a smile.
"I have to go, Shikaku," she added in a much somber tone, as she looked into his eyes.
"He is not just a Kage," and her words were a whisper.
"He is my only friend," and what could he say to that?
"Please be careful," he added in defeat, as she smiled.
"I will be," and then the Yondaime's guard unit surrounded her, as they closed their eyes.
"Hiraishin!" and then in teh blink of an eye, she was gone.

And Tsunade appeared on a battlefield, and her eyes widened, and her heart nearly gave out as she stared at the sight infront of her.
"No," she gasped, and the situation was far worse than she could have imagined, for infront of her lay a beaten, bruised, and armless Jiraiya whose blood soaked the ground.
"Jiraiya!" she gasped and immediately began to heal him, up, and he stirred slightly at her prompting as he whispered weakly.
"Run..."

And just as he felt Obito gather a massive amount of chakra, he lamented his own uselessness as he pushed his body to assimilate the gift that he had been given as fast as possible.
"Now, let me show you my true powe..." and then in one blink there and in the next blink, he was there, and Hikari could only gasp at that power, as a hand pushed through Obito Uchiha's chest as the traitor grunted in pain.
He saw Obtio's eyes widen as he began to cough up blood, and the entire battlefield froze up.
"Obito!" Kakashi-san gasped, in desperation, but it was all too late.
"What the hell is going on here?" Gai-san wondered, as Obito himself tilted his head to look at his creator and mentor.
"What have you done?" he eeked out, as Madara pulled back his arm, and Obito fell to the ground.
"You have served your purpose," Madara Uchiha whispered as he stepped forward, as Obito Uchiha bled out.
"It is time for you to rest and let me finish this," and with that, his eyes widened.
"You betrayed me," Obito Uchiha gasped, and Madara smirked.
"Good of you to realize this now. But the truth is that you were a useful pawn, one that I took great effort to create," and now Kakashi's eyes widened.
"Create!" he asked, and the man was smiling now.
"Do you really think it was a coincidence that your sensei was out of the village on another mission, that somehow Kirigakure captured and then turned your dear old teammate into a faulty jinchuriki?" and Hikari closed his eyes.
"YOUUU! You were behind teh attack," and Madara shrugged, as Obito Uchiha tried to push himself back up.
THUD!
The man pushed him down as he stared down at all of them.
"And to think you were struggling against the likes of them?" and this was not Reanimated, Madara. No, this was a fully alive Madara who was made out of flesh and blood.
"Wasn't he supposed to vanish along with the rest of the revived shinobi?" and that was true, but there was a way for him to survive.
"The Rininegan has many powers, and I think what we are witnessing is one such power," and now they were doomed. Still, the only way for him to get the Rinnegan was through.
"How did he even get those eyes?" Gai-san asked, and Hikari knew only shinobi possessed them.
"Pain," he answered, and saw Madara's face turn sour.
"A shame that Hashirama went ahead without even a single greeting," and he seemed genuinely sad at the affair.
"I would have loved to have a spar with him. Those so-called Kages of yours were quite a disappointment, truly," and then those purple eyes narrowed towards him.
"You!" and even from such a distance, Hikari could feel the Rinnegan seeing through him, as if all the secrets of his existence were revealed to those eyes.
"Your chakra. It is changing," and he was able to spot that.
"I can see traces of Hashirama's chakra in you," and to think he would spot that.
"Are you his descendant, boy?" and he shook his head.
"No, but I am the one he tasked with defeating you," Hikari answered, and Madara's shoulders began to shake.
"HAHAHAA. HAHAHAAAAA!" and he was laughing wildly now.
"Interesting, he always was rather naive," he mocked, "always putting his trust in teh next generation!"
And then he joined his hands, and suddenly the Gedo Mazo opened its mouth as chains sprang out and began to drag back the rest of the bijuu.
"Kakashi-san," Hikari warned, but the man was on it already.
"I know," and he saw the space around Madara begin to distort, as Kakashi san pushed chakra into his Sharingan.
"Kamui..." but before any damage could be done, he was blasted away as Madara raised his hands.
"Your tricks do not work against me," and then the Bijuu were all drawn in.
"It is still incomplete, but it is time to test the powers of the bijuu." But then, suddenly, the Gedo Mazo shifted as Madara Uchiha frowned.
"Hirudora!" Gai-san was infront of him, but just as Madara raised his hands to use his Rinnegan, he disappeared and appeared beside him, much to his surprise, and the man was sent flying into the air, as he saw Obito Uchiha push himself back up.
"I have been such a fool," he whispered, as his body turned pale from blood loss, and then he brought together his hands.
"I have committed grave atrocities in the past," and he was gathering a large amount of chakra now, pushing himself to use all of his reserves and then some.
"I know that I cannot atone for them. But as my last act, let me erase them from the face of this world," and he saw Madara's eyes widen, as Gai-san played with him in the air.
"Ninpo:..." and he saw blood gather in his eye, before it began to fall down his cheek, as the entire space around him began to distort.
"...Kamui!"
And he saw Kakashi-san rush forward.
"Obito! NOO!" he gasped, but he was too injured to step forward, as everyone realized his intentions as the Gedo Mazo began to twist and turn and get swallowed up.
"YOU FOOOL!" Madara Uchiha roared, and then in teh blink of an eye, a large force emanated out of his body, and Gai-san was sent crashing into the ground.
"AGHHH!" he grunted as Madara rushed towards Obito as the traitor screamed out in agony, as his chakra stores emptied out. The chakra was formed through a combination of yin and yang energy.
It was formed by the body's physical and intellectual prowess, and when your stores ran out, and you still pushed yourself beyond them, then it began hollowing these very integral structures to supply the necessary energy.
So, in essence, Hikari could see Obito's body eat itself up as it tried to make up for the shortfall.
"You dare stand against me," and he was almost there. Almost, yet Madara was simply too near.
Hikari knew that he had to intervene, and so he pushed himself forward as he molded chakra in his legs, and felt the chakra networks tear up, as a strange voice whispered in his ear.
"No, Don't..."
But he knew how integral this was, and so even as his entire legs burned because of his rush, he was able to blast off of the ground, as he intercepted Madara before he could get his hands on Obito.
"Wha..."
The speed was even greater than his usual attacks, and he could hardly get his arm up in time as he simply crashed into the Ghost of the Uchiha as they were both sent flying away.
"You bastard!" Madara roared as he spun in the air and kicked him in teh chest, and Hikari barely managed to raise his arms as he was sent tumbling into the ground.
"AGHHH!" he grunted in pain, as his back hit the ground, and he felt his bones break, but as Madara tried to launch himself back at Obito, he was stopped once more as Gai san appeared infront of him again.
"Asakujaku!" and once more, the Uchiha legend was forced to jump back to avoid the attacks.
"SHINRA TENSEI!" and once more he flung him away, but by then it was too late. Obito was nearly done with his technique.
"AGHHH!" he heard Obito grunt, as he reached teh finalization.
"NO! NOOOOO!" he Madara roared in rage, as he found himself interrupted by Ao-san and his clones, along with Kakashi-san and just as the last trace of Obito vanished, he saw him look towards himself.
"I leave the rest to you..."
SHWICK!
"NOOOOOOOO!" Madara roared, as a massive attack rushed out of him, as all of them were sent flying away, and Hikari found himself tumbling through the air, before Kakashi-san grabbed him by the collar as Ao-san shielded them all with his Doton Ninjutsu.
The barrage ended a few minutes later, as the Earth fell down and they saw Madara land on the ground, in a rather foul mood.
"I never thought that he had it in him," he wondered, and Hikari looked down at his legs and saw them burnt, and he had just derailed much of the progress he had made.
"Shit!" he cursed as he began healing away the damage he had done.
"But it seems like he made one mistake," and suddenly, he saw Madara focus his gaze on Kakashi-san.
"NO!"
"Bansho Tensei!" and Kakashi san was flying towards him in the blink of an eye, though just as he was halfway through the distance, he was stopped as smoke rose from the ground, as two figures landed on the ground and stopped the man.
"I do hope we are not late," a familiar voice cut in, as relief filled his heart.
"Where do you think you are taking our sensei?" another voice cut in, and as the smoke cleared, he found two familiar figures standing there, as they protected Kakashi-san from Madara's attack.
"More insects," Madara grunted, as Naruto and Sasuke stepped forward.
"That is rich coming from a relic of a past like you!" and he saw his eyes shift, as an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan appeared in them.
"I am going to make you eat those words, you ancient bastard!" Naruto roared as he punched his palm, a golden hue appeared over his body, and a chakra cloak covered him up.
"All of you rest up, we will take it from here...."
