Seeing Lucian return to the office with a stormy face, his rage boiling over, Emilie almost laughed out loud. She might not have gone out with him, but she was certain it hadn't gone well with him.
She thought he would just settle back into his seat, and then she would decide her next course of action.
"Emilie, leave this office right now, and I mean right now," Lucian said coldly. His voice, sharp and full of warning, pierced through the deliberate silence of the office.
Emilie froze, the smile on her lips disappearing immediately. She blinked at him, uncertain she had heard him correctly.
"What... What did you say?" she asked, her voice shaking slightly.
"I said leave. I don't want to see you here anymore," Lucian repeated without any emotion.
Emilie felt her fantasy shatter, her face turning pale. "You can't be serious, right?" she asked, her lips quivering.
"Emilie, I meant every word I just said."
