Chapter 4 - (“When Secrets Unfold, A Bond Awakens”)

Woo Bin, with his head bowed, slowly confessed everything to Seo Joon."I never wanted anyone to know that I am an Omega… but I only came to truly understand this truth a few days ago. And the reason I told you is because I know—you are an Alpha. Maybe this truth won't hurt you as much as the lies you've carried all these years."

His voice trembled as he continued."Since childhood, I've had no one. I learned to live alone. When the children at the orphanage ran away from me because of my Omega scent, I was forced to survive in isolation. If you want… after knowing my truth, you can fire me from my job too."

Woo Bin was certain that, like everyone else, Seo Joon would also push him away. But listening to his words, Seo Joon felt something else stir in his heart. It felt as if he was hearing his own story. He too had spent years locked away in dark rooms, imprisoned by loneliness. Instead of disgust, what he felt toward Woo Bin was an inexplicable pull—an unfamiliar connection.

Whether this connection was sympathy or something deeper, Seo Joon could not tell. But for the first time, he felt as though someone truly understood him. And with that realization, the thought of pushing Woo Bin away never even crossed his mind.

Not emotionally, but practically—as his boss—Seo Joon looked at him and said firmly,"I don't hire my employees based on how powerful they are or what truths they hide. I hire them for their talent and their ability to work. And so far, you haven't done anything wrong. Which means you cannot quit this job. Right now, we need to focus only on the task we came here for."

With those words, Seo Joon ended the conversation and restarted the car.

Inside Woo Bin's heart, a strange sense of peace bloomed. For the first time since his orphanage caretaker, there was someone who knew his truth and still accepted him. And that person was Seo Joon. Somewhere deep within, Seo Joon's Alpha presence awakened desires that Woo Bin could no longer ignore. He, too, felt connected now. His heart whispered that he never wanted to be away from Seo Joon again.

The car rolled once more through the dense trees, over the uneven dirt road. The headlights stretched forward, showing only a narrow path ahead, while on both sides loomed nothing but suffocating darkness.

Woo Bin refused to glance around him. After seeing that horrifying face in the shadows earlier, he no longer had the courage to look at the darkness again. He locked his gaze only where the headlights fell, as if shutting his eyes to everything beyond.

Silence filled the car. Woo Bin sat still, praying for the journey to end quickly. But within Seo Joon, another storm raged. His thoughts spun restlessly:

Am I truly an Alpha? If yes, then what powers do I have? Why have I never felt them before? Is this the truth… or just another delusion?

The flood of questions refused to stop. At last, after a long pause, Seo Joon called out."Woo Bin…"

"Yes, sir," Woo Bin replied.

Seo Joon's voice carried hesitation and confusion."You said I am an Alpha. If that's true, and if you already recognized my powers… then can you tell me? What exactly are Alphas and Omegas? Why are they drawn so strongly to one another? Why do their scents pull them in, as if they have no control?"

Woo Bin exhaled deeply, his eyes fixed on the faint light of the headlights ahead. Slowly, he spoke."Sir… the bond between an Alpha and an Omega is not just a title or designation. It is part of their very existence. Just as breathing is natural, so is the connection between Alpha and Omega. The truth is, no one 'chooses' these powers—these instincts are tied to them from birth."

"Alphas are naturally dominant. Their presence alone makes people sense their authority, whether they realize it or not. An Alpha's scent… it carries power for everyone, but for an Omega, its impact is far deeper. That scent brings a sense of protection, of belonging."

"And Omegas… they are rare. People think Omegas are weak, but the truth is—they balance the strength of an Alpha. Their sensitivity is their greatest power. An Omega's scent awakens the instincts buried within an Alpha. It creates a pull that cannot be explained… only felt."

"When an Alpha and Omega come close, their scents call to each other. It's as if both hear the same voice inside: 'You are not alone.' This pull is not just of the body, but of the heart and soul. Sometimes… it grows so strong that both lose their control."

"This bond has two faces—One, desire. An Alpha is naturally drawn to their Omega, to protect them, to claim them. And the Omega, in turn, finds in that Alpha a peace they cannot find anywhere else. The other, belonging. When an Alpha and Omega accept each other, their bond goes beyond the physical. It becomes instinctual, emotional… where feelings pass between them without words. A bond that defies reason."

"Sir, maybe you noticed… when I touched you, or even when I came close… something inside you began to shift. Those were your Alpha instincts awakening. Perhaps you never felt them before, because you never had an Omega near you to bring them out. An Alpha only truly realizes their existence when close to their Omega. And an Omega only feels safe, only feels whole, with their Alpha. This bond is never a choice—it is a natural truth. A truth that cannot be escaped."

Finally, Woo Bin lowered his voice."I am an Omega. That is why I understand all this. And you… you are an Alpha. That is why you are beginning to feel these things now. For you, it's new. But for me… it's the reality I've lived with day and night."

His words lifted a weight that Seo Joon had carried for years. He realized he was never sick, never strange—this was his truth, his reality. For the first time, he felt as if he truly understood himself. Woo Bin's words filled him with peace, and along with that peace… a quiet happiness. A happiness born from Woo Bin's presence alone.

Seo Joon's thoughts turned inward. If this pull exists only when Woo Bin is near… does that mean I am connected to him? Is this bond not just Alpha and Omega, but something that belongs only to us?

Slowly, a new feeling began to take root in his heart—a feeling that whispered Woo Bin was not just his employee, but the missing part of his soul. As though fate itself had created them for one another. And in that moment, Seo Joon realized… Woo Bin was meant for him.

But while half the road behind them had already revealed truths and new bonds, the other half lay ahead—an ominous darkness that neither of them yet understood. The same road was quietly leading them into a great and terrifying danger.
