I've been stuck on Chapter 2 for a while now, and the culprit is my own overthinking.
It has left me with three completely different versions of this story:
1. Canon Route : The Rebellion unfolds much like canon, with Maegor choosing not to interfere.
2. Full AU : Maegor steps in, and the entire story veers off into a completely new one.
3. Middle Ground : Maegor changes the course of events, but the Rebellion still happens through a different chain of events.
Two of these would make Maegor the main character for the opening part of the story before the focus shifts to Aerion.
