-I have one more request.- Black Spider continued.
-Oh? And what is it?- Ames asked with interest.
-I wish I could continue acting as a mercenary, as a field team.- Black Spider explained.
-Field team?- Ames asked curiously. -I thought you wanted to hide from your enemies.
-Your name alone is enough.- Black Spider shrugged.
Ames smiled, unconcerned. -Alright, in the meantime, begin your search for Aesop. Any information, let me know immediately.
She then turned to Jenny and said. -Give him a communicator with direct dial.
Jenny raised an eyebrow, but did not argue.
Black Spider was a little curious as to why Ames hadn't tried to test his predictive abilities like Jenny did, but perhaps the trust between the two indicated that if Jenny brought him there, it was because she trusted his abilities.
Even if it were a lie, just as he said, Aesop wouldn't resist the chance to set his sights on it, that would lead to a chance to catch him.
In any case, Ames won, so she didn't ask if the ability was real, but acted as if it were, to increase the chances of Aesop appearing. Ames wasn't stupid, she was just too lazy to care about most things.
Later, at Black Spider's request, Jenny announced to the Floating Dragon's "partner" groups that Triple Six had become part of the Floating Dragon. Black Spider also informed the mercenary Alliance of his affiliation with the Floating Dragon.
He wanted to spread the news as quickly as possible and just as he expected, even though to the ordinary inhabitants of the Shattered Star Ring Triple Six was still an unknown mercenary group, for the decision-makers the Black Spider file arrived on their desks a few hours after the event.
The fact is that Ames had left a strong impression of being lazy and indifferent to power, so any act against that would become a huge scandal.
A Grade A officer led by that woman was almost unheard of. The last one had defected to Heber, leading to a major dispute between the two BGAs (Beyonder Grade A) at the time.
Now that Ames had moved again, Black Spider became the focus of discussion. Was it just a random move by the Dragon Emperor, or was there something more behind it?
But the fact is that Ames didn't do anything more for several days, letting the news die down slowly, it wasn't a deliberate move, it was a random thing, something that woman did regularly.
Black Spider slowly faded into the past, but the man himself didn't leave the Floating Dragon during those few days, instead letting the news settle slowly.
The number of missions he received increased, now he didn't even need to look for them. Several groups were sending missions continuously and even the Ecozmar staff had become much more agreeable when talking about the business of selling genetic serums.
But he was focused on something else, through internal channels, he managed to buy highly concentrated Void Dragon serums. This gene level was not inferior to that of the Interstellar Beasts, but because he bought it internally, it was much cheaper.
What happened next was, of course, Ringo injected himself with one of them and saved the rest for later use, probably for genetic development with Emma. He even managed to get some Void Dragon bones for future use, they could be useful for Lena, or he could find a wizard specializing in enchantment to create weapons.
But his time on the Floating Dragon was not over, after spending a few days practicing with his new bow, he encountered Ames a second time.
As soon as he found the woman, she was floating comfortably, playing with a strange cube used to train telekinetic powers, but the woman only used it as a toy to pass the time.
Ames had no guards and nothing prevented a "high-level" employee like Black Spider from approaching her at any time.
Only Ames' personality could allow him to act so directly.
-Oh? What do you need?- Ames asked curiously, her body slowly straightening up as she looked at him with curiosity.
-I have something I need to make clear to you, I'd prefer to say it only to you.- Black Spider shrugged.
Ames raised an eyebrow. -What would that be?
Black Spider didn't respond, but the next moment, a purple mist slowly emanated from Black Spider before forming Ringo's body. He took off his sunglasses and placed them on his head, giving a slight smile.
Throughout, Ames simply observed it with curiosity, without expressing any opinions.
-My real name is Ringo Jones. Black Spider is just a shell to travel the galaxy more safely.- Ringo introduced himself lightly.
-Interesting... so what are you?- Ames asked, approaching him slowly, looking him up and down as if he had found something interesting.
-Formerly? A human. Now I'm a member of a race popularly known throughout the galaxy as Nightmares.- Ringo introduced himself.
-Nightmares? Never heard of them.- Ames controlled his body to turn around him, searching for something interesting about him.
-It's an unusual race, but that's not the point. I just wanted to make it clear who I am to you. I don't want to hide it now that you're officially my 'boss'.- Ringo shrugged, unconcerned by the woman's intense gaze.
Ames smiled weakly. -So? Why use Black Spider and not act on your own body?
-Because I'm a coward.- Ringo said shamelessly, making Ames let out a light and amused laugh. Ringo didn't care and continued. -Let's just say I'm very afraid of death and prefer not to take risks easily.
-So? You appear right in front of me? Aren't you afraid I'll squeeze you to death for daring to deceive me?- She asked curiously, her energy pressing down on Ringo with a firm grip, he couldn't move an inch.
-That's just a clone, my real self is far away.- Ringo explained, completely unconcerned.
Ames paused for a moment, stunned, then began to laugh even more cheerfully. -I believe you, you really are afraid of death.
Her energy stopped leaking out as Ringo regained his mobility, he simply shrugged at her comment.
-So? You don't think you're going to annoy me by not coming here directly and talking to me?- Ames asked, his face growing heavy.
Ringo paused for a moment, as if stunned and then another purple figure emerged from the clone's body, a figure exactly like the previous one. The figure reformed as it said. - This is my original self.
Ames looked at the two Ringos, finding no difference between them, but strangely she still believed he was telling the truth.
She tilted her head and asked. -If you're afraid to die, why appear before me?
-I'm willing to believe you.- Ringo's red eyes met Ames' dark ones for a moment, the woman floated slightly, her gaze somewhere between amusement and interest.
-You're really interesting, Ringo.- The woman joked. -But you're right, now that you've joined me, you're my person, I'm not going to make things difficult for you.
Ringo nodded slightly in thanks, then teleported away.
Ames could have squeezed him in a fraction of a second before he could fully teleport, but she just watched him go.
Ringo's clone returned to Black Spider's body.
Ames watched all this with interest. - So? Where did the Black Spider come from?
Ames was clearly very curious about Ringo and with nothing to do and finding such an interesting situation, she started chatting with Black Spider about various things.
The pair chatted while Black Spider entertained Ames for several hours, except for important things like his evolution ability, he didn't hold back much.
He spoke about his home planet, his business with genetic serums, the power of Black Spider and why he chose him as his "avatar"...
Ames had so little to do that she found all of this very interesting, whether it was about the Inhumans, Ringo's experience as a guinea pig, including his romantic misadventures...
Ringo didn't make it clear why he was a guinea pig, but he brushed it off and Ames didn't ask either, as if he understood that Ringo didn't want to talk about it.
Ringo even managed to get Ames to talk a little about her, and when Ringo left, his relationship with Ames was much closer.
Perhaps not on the level of Jenny or Aesop, but probably better than Wilsander. If the man knew about this, he might bang his head against a wall in anger.
