Chapter 245 - Cap.232 - Something missing

Ringo appeared alongside Black Spider shortly after, he grabbed Hadavy's frozen body directly and teleported away again, straight to the Floating Dragon.

With the Xenomorphs already installed, he no longer needed to worry about that, he had already used a nightmare mark on a xenomorph queen, and he could return there at any time.

When Ringo dragged Hadavy through the Ames palace, he attracted some curious glances, but no one asked questions, Ringo was an officer, that was enough for them, although Jenny was promptly notified.

The woman turned on the cameras and saw Ringo dragging a frozen 'corpse' around, but in the end, she just shrugged, seeing that Ringo was heading towards Ames, she knew there was no point in warning her.

When Ringo found Ames, she was drinking with Aesop, the old man still in his forced retirement, he didn't seem much different from normal, he was the first to stare at the figure on Ringo's shoulder, more curious than anything else.

Ames first looked at Ringo, then at the 'corpse', then back at Ringo. Knowing Ringo, something fun was about to happen, so she seemed normal on the outside, but inside her curiosity had already been piqued.

Ringo walked calmly towards them, placing Hadavy beside him like a frozen statue. At that point, they could see that Hadavy's chest was sunken and he had an expression of pain.

-Who is that?- Ames asked curiously.

-Hadavy, an interesting fellow, attacked Black Spider out of nowhere. He's an Esper who can transform his skin into metal, extremely hard and resistant. Black Spider had to use his bow to deal with him.- Ringo explained.

Ames tilted her head, slightly confused. Was that it? Why bring this guy to her? She didn't speak, but her gaze made it clear that she expected Ringo to continue explaining.

-He's good at taking a beating, he's strong, he can be useful, I brought him for you.- Ringo explained.

Aesop stifled a laugh, only a dry sound escaping his nose, as he glanced at Ames, he really wanted to see her face.

As he had expected, Ames had a speechless expression.

Ames didn't care at all about subordinates, she had no interest in achieving anything. Why did she need subordinates? Even Bradd was sidelined by her, she hardly saw him these days, and at most, they exchanged a word or two when they did.

Bradd especially liked that about Ames, he found the perfect boss right away. One didn't mind, and the other didn't want to bother him. In the end, they got along very well. Bradd had no shortage of materials there, nor of clients or time for research. He really liked the Floating Dragon.

This was also because Ames hadn't needed to use her 'weapon' until now, or he would have already lost his home in a casual fight, fortunately, he was a mage and could keep the most important things with him.

Even so, Ringo bringing random subordinates to Ames left the woman speechless, she got along well with Bradd, but from beginning to end, it was just passive acceptance.

Now she had another one?

Looking at Ringo's "compliment me" expression, she really wanted to send him flying with her force field.

Even so, she merely sighed and turned her gaze back to Hadavy, looking at the frozen figure for a moment, she shrugged and said. -If he wants to stay, as long as he's not too troublesome, that's fine.

Ringo patted his chest and nodded. -Don't worry, I'll discipline this guy well. Besides, he loves getting beaten up, so he'll probably be training with us from now on.

Aesop, who was drinking wine, choked and coughed forcefully. He wanted to laugh, but his cough made it difficult.

Ames brought her hand to her forehead and rubbed it gently, of course, Ringo had to find this kind of guy to be her subordinate.

Ames shook her head, saying nothing more, her eyes focusing on Ringo again.

Ringo was extremely close to a Beyond Grade A, she could tell that clearly, after the last few months, although his progress had slowed considerably, it was still evident every day.

She sensed that this habit of bringing subordinates to her was because of that, he was ready to separate from her.

She understood, no Grade S wanted to be below another.

Neither of them spoke about it, but they both sensed that the moment was approaching.

Ringo also progressed from Grade F to the peak of Grade A in about 2 years, but in the last 5 months, he felt it was much more difficult to advance.

He wasn't a player, it wasn't just about accumulating enough XP, no, he needed to do it on his own.

The Grade S was so close that he felt he could touch it at any moment, but even though he was constantly getting beaten by Ames during that time, he felt as if the clear road ahead of him had turned into a tar pit.

Not that its evolution didn't help, in fact, it helped a lot, but Grade S was completely different from Grade A, the evolution required was astronomical, demanding extreme energy and, moreover, precise alignment with the corresponding 'information'.

Ringo felt he could advance whenever he wanted, but he held back the energy in his cells because he felt that even if he advanced now, he would remain at Grade A. He thought the energy was sufficient, but his cells had not yet reached the necessary resonance with the Sanctuaries.

It's like reaching a class advancement level, but some missions still haven't been completed.

Ringo could sense that something was missing, something that would make the advance information available to him.

What was it? He could only vaguely sense it, even using his vision of the future didn't help. It was as if the information itself was hiding from him.

Precognition, on the other hand, seemed to enhance this feeling.

He felt he needed to fight, but against what or against whom, he didn't know.

Would he need to fight against several Grade A Supers? Against a Grade S? A life-or-death fight? Challenge something that seemed impossible?

It wasn't just something physical, it required mentality, it required timing...

Sighing, Ringo shook his head and placed his hand on Hadavy, beginning to warm him from the inside and heal him.

Ames became curious again, looking at this new "subordinate".
