Hadavy let out a mournful cry of pain as he was lodged against the wall again. Around him were numerous marks from his body already imprinted on the wall, he felt every part of his body trembling, every tiny fragment of him seemed to ache.
However, Hadavy was neither angry nor unhappy.
Hadavy was radiant!
An excited smile appeared on his face soon after, as he struggled to get away from the wall and move forward again.
A fight might help him advance, but he had never encountered someone who hit like that, not with damage that struck every part of his body, but at the same time didn't hurt him to the point of killing him.
Ames floated smoothly seated in her chair, sending Ringo flying away just as she had sent Hadavy moments before.
To be honest, training with Ringo last year helped her, it was ridiculous, but Ringo served as training for precision, the amount of force she needed to use each time needed to be meticulously calculated.
Getting a little bigger each time.
Not only that, but the way she used her energy also achieved ridiculous precision, each of her attacks no longer struck directly, no, each attack hit every micrometer of Ringo's body, not in the same way, no, she had already gone beyond that, now she could alter the force with which she struck each of Ringo's cells.
The stronger cells received more pressure, the weaker ones less.
It was ridiculous, Ames never needed to use her power in that way, not to hit such a small fragment of something so small.
No, Ames used space rocks as stones and planets as bricks, however, Ames really wanted to help Ringo, she liked him very much, so even though she didn't like training, she trained.
She even practiced a Cutting Edge Esper technique that she hadn't used for a long time for this: Precise Energy Control.
It was a breakthrough, a major breakthrough.
In terms of overall power, not much has changed, but if Ames had an interface, she would discover that her true damage has greatly increased, as has her critical hit rate. Not only her power, but also her perception, for Ames, her energy was not just a means of attack, but eyes, allowing her to understand everything she focused her energy on as if she were seeing it with the naked eye.
She could find poison in someone's body and destroy it without a problem, she could cause a brain aneurysm with a flick of her finger, her control became so precise that she could even destroy and disconnect neurons to the point of making someone forget things.
Unfortunately, she couldn't tell what the person was thinking or what each neuron meant, but Ames never cared, she turned a prisoner into a clueless child in seconds.
Ames didn't particularly enjoy training, but for a long time she had viewed her training with Ringo as more than just helping Ringo progress, she saw it as spending time together, and her advancement in power was purely accidental.
She enjoyed seeing him constantly improve, her help had taken him very far, she could feel it, he wasn't far from her.
She turned her face to Hadavy, who was advancing towards her again, and raised an eyebrow.
Hadavy looked a lot like Ringo when they started training, Ringo had the same cheerful smile.
Ames almost laughed, finding the situation amusing, but since Hadavy was her subordinate, she didn't mind helping him. After discovering his limitations, she did the same thing she did with Ringo.
Of course, there were differences, Ringo would get seriously injured and then heal, the limit for him was higher than he could actually handle.
Hadavy, on the other hand, needed to be hit not to break everything, but to cause small cracks. Then his ability would come into play, closing the cracks, each time a little stronger.
Unfortunately, Hadavy's speed of progress was far from that of Ringo, if Ringo was like a sports car, Hadavy was like an old tractor.
Ringo wasn't doing much better than Hadavy either, after all, he was accumulating power to advance. Ames felt complicated every time she thought about it, she wondered what it would be like after he advanced to Grade S.
She wasn't afraid of Ringo turning against her, not because she trusted Ringo too much, which she actually did, but because Ames never gave much thought to problems like that.
If someone wants to fight, fight, if someone attacks you, attack back, if she feels like fighting, find someone and fight!
Ames is completely random, so even now she didn't care if Ringo actually attacked her after advancing, instead, she was excited to fight him afterward, a real fight, one-on-one. She wanted to fight Ringo, not like now, but as equals.
Just thinking about it made Ames excited, if it were months ago, Ames' energy would have fluctuated and she would have hit a little harder than usual, but now? There was no difference.
Her control was ridiculously precise.
Ames even sensed that her Esper ability seemed to be slowly changing, as if she had found the gateway to something, but she was still far from truly knowing what that meant for her.
If Ringo had known, he would have thought it was the beginning of Esper's power evolution, if Ames worked hard enough, she could truly evolve her ability alone.
Force field control, Ames practiced precise micro-level control for months, hoping that when she could control the force directly instead of needing the force field, her power could advance again.
Force Control!
One word disappeared, but the moment she reached that point, even Heber could only be beaten directly. Even Esgod might be drawn to her power.
That would be horrible for her because, even with that power, without reaching Grade SS, she would be nothing more than another dish on Esgod's table.
Unfortunately, although she has made good progress currently, she was still decades away from actually achieving that, of course, taking into account the possibility of Ames actually training or... having some kind of evolutionary lunatic to help her. In the latter case, perhaps an 'Accelerator' version of Ames would appear much earlier.
[A/N: Although I mentioned 'Accelerator', their powers are similar but not exactly the same. If she controls the Force itself, she could go from shooting lightning bolts from her fingers, control magnetic fields, and using friction to generate fire, to even controlling atoms to the point of causing random nuclear explosions.]
