Chapter 46 - Chapter 46 Thank you, my countrymen

Madeline then revealed some of Vought Corporation's confidential inside information to Ron.

For example, the existence of Compound V.

There are no chosen people of God, no innate super-powered individuals; everyone is injected with Compound V from infancy to become a superhuman.

The so-called superheroes are actually a shocking scam to fool the public.

All superheroes are chosen as infants to be injected with Compound V, and a confidentiality agreement is signed with each family.

Once they awaken suitable abilities, they are recruited into the company.

Large numbers of infants were used as test subjects; if this news were to break out, it would cause an uproar across the World.

But Ron's face was cold, and his heart remained undisturbed.

He already knew the inside story of Vought regarding superheroes and Compound V.

What Madeline said next was some new information.

"Not everyone can awaken useful abilities, nor does everyone grow up with a personality suitable to be our Vought superhero.

Whenever this happens, we need to take various measures."

Madeline, Vought's Vice President, chuckled, her smile hiding cruel darkness and bloodiness.

Vought cannot constantly monitor families around the World who have received Compound V injections, controlling their beliefs and growth.

However, when someone steps out to 'cause trouble' for Vought, Vought can then temporarily send people to easily resolve the trouble, and afterwards, easily cover everything up with its immense power; no accidents have ever occurred for many years.

"For example, this case happened yesterday in New York."

She took out several photos and placed them on the table.

Numerous fully armed gang members holding firearms, and bodies that looked like they had been attacked by a Beast, faces torn, eyes gouged out, the scene bloody and cruel.

"Superhuman crime."

He glanced at it; ordinary people do not have this kind of strength, and the environment in the corpse photos reminded him of a character in the original plot.

Kimiko from The Boys.

Originally, Vought did not pay attention to this matter at first, as it was covered up by A-Train, who worked for Homelander.

His influence made the plot different again.

"Vought's superheroes should give the public endless security; each one is an unbeatable superhuman, only then can the company's stock price be stable."

Madeline said seriously.

"So there have always only been superheroes in the World, never supervillains."

A playful expression appeared on his face as he slowly said.

Petty thieves and robbers cannot defeat superheroes; it is a battle with no suspense.

But supervillains represent the possibility of defeating superheroes, which is detrimental to Vought's stock price.

"Ron, the company wants you to handle this matter."

"Me?"

Ron stroked his chin, feeling something was off.

Vought had always assigned Black Noir to handle such matters; why would they come to him?

"Listen, Ron..."

Madeline smiled and then said a few more words.

Walking out of the Vice President's office, Ron understood the implied meaning in Madeline's words: Edgar intended to let him enter the senior management.

So, he revealed the darkness of Vought that cannot be exposed to outsiders, and then asked him to personally cover up Vought's darkness, as a test of whether he could become one of them, or a pledge of allegiance?

"Entering Vought's senior management, can I figure out Vought's trump card against Homelander?"

Walking in the corridor, he secretly pondered.

As long as Vought's senior management is not foolish, having created Homelander, a monster capable of destroying the World, they must have contingency plans to deal with him.

"Homelander's clone? A more powerful superhuman? Or something that restrains the superpowers activated by Compound V?"

Several guesses flashed through Ron's mind.

Only by figuring these out can he find a way to control Vought, this colossal entity.

"Let's put Kimiko aside for now; something interesting is happening on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, and I can't miss it."

He chuckled lightly, then used mind-teleportation and his figure vanished from where he stood.

...

"How is it?"

The phone was answered, and Edgar's steady voice sounded from the other end.

"Sir, Ron agreed."

Madeline reported from behind her desk.

"How did he react when you mentioned the internal secrets of the company that are somewhat cruel to outsiders?"

The real point of this matter was not whether Ron agreed or not.

"He seemed not to care much."

She recalled and said.

He was somewhat indifferent, his expression barely fluctuating.

"Oh? That's good then."

Although Vought has over two hundred superheroes under its wing, he did not want Ron to genuinely possess a naive and ridiculous superhero-like personality.

Ron was very close to that innocent little girl who had dreamed of being a superhero since childhood, which made him a little worried.

"This also indirectly proves that, in case of an emergency, Starlight probably won't be able to restrain him."

"Yes."

Holding the phone, Madeline nodded carefully in agreement, reviewing again.

"Just a girlfriend who can be replaced at will.

Yesterday, I didn't think things through."

"Alright, that's enough about this matter."

On the other end of the phone, he interrupted her, slowly saying.

"I will discuss it with the Board of Directors, and once this matter is completed, he will become one of us."

Hanging up the phone, Madeline, in her forties, let out a sigh of relief, picked up her work badge with her Vice President title and name on it, and glanced at it, her emotions complex.

Ron, who had only joined the company a few days ago, was about to surpass her in position.

...

Deep blue, dark Water, one hundred meters above the Atlantic Ocean.

A transoceanic flight from Paris to Chicago was hijacked by skyjackers.

Four hijackers controlled the entire plane, and the unarmed passengers became hostages.

"Shut up, everyone; I don't think anyone wants to get hurt, right?!"

Two of the hijackers, holding daggers, coldly warned the screaming, frightened passengers in the cabin.

"Stay in your seats."

As he spoke, he fiercely pointed to the body of an air stewardess who had tried to resist not far away, undoubtedly the best example.

Under immense danger, panic spread throughout the cabin, and men, women, and children on the plane trembled helplessly.

"Oh God, someone save us!"

Screech! Screech!

Suddenly, the airplane door was opened from the outside, and the air pressure imbalance between the cabin and outside created a powerful suction, directly pulling one of the hijackers out with a scream.

A heroic and beautiful figure jumped in.

Another tall hijacker roared in anger and charged forward, only to be cleanly and decisively dealt with by having his neck twisted.

"Mei, it's Queen Mei.

She's here to save us, thank goodness!"

Inside the cabin, the hostages tightly gripped their seats, and a wave of excited cheers erupted.

Whenever she saved people in danger, and saw the light of hope erupt in their eyes and expressions of surprise on their faces upon seeing her, she felt a surge of joy and satisfaction.

"Alright, everyone, stay where you are; everything will be fine soon."

Mei tossed her hair, looking valiant and spirited, and strode towards the hijacker guarding the cockpit door.

"Perhaps you can still arrive at your destination on time."

Seeing Mei, the hijacker raised his hands in fear, wanting to surrender; he knew how formidable Queen Mei was.

But a heat ray, mercilessly and precisely, pierced through his chest, killing him.

Homelander's eyes glowed red as he flew in, wearing his standard smile, and casually closed the cabin door.

"Evil has been punished.

It's all over, everyone, it's alright."

His appearance caused even greater cheers.

"Homelander!"

The hostages felt even more relieved; they had all read the headlines of major newspapers and news websites that morning and witnessed Homelander's god-like power.

"Thank you, Homelander, you saved us, you are a hero!"
