Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 New Heroes

A few days earlier.

The scene shifts.

Slowly, newspaper headlines, TV reports, and worldwide footage begin flashing across the screen.

Sky Gates Appear Around the World!

Every State, Every District. Only One Gate!

At a scientific press conference, experts announce:

"In every country, in every state and district, only one Gate appears. And whoever touches it… gains power."

Live News Flash from New York —

The camera shows a man touching a Gate. In an instant, his body surges with unimaginable strength. He charges alone into battle against a massive beast.

The entire world watches, stunned and shaken.

Soon, the same scenes unfold elsewhere—

Japan.

France.

Russia.

Everywhere Gates have appeared, and humans rush forward to claim power.

In India's biggest cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Jaipur—Gates had already manifested.

Crowds, chaos, police, and military. Total mayhem.

But then, the camera slowly zooms in on—

Raipur.

Where no Gate had appeared yet.

Schools and colleges were shut down.

The announcer's voice echoes:

"Raipur has been temporarily locked down. Until the Gate appears here, the city will remain on high alert."

Nearby districts like Durg and Baloda Bazar had already seen Gates appear.

But Raipur remained silent.

The camera shifts to Yash, restlessly making a phone call.

Yash: "Mom… Dad… are you safe?"

From the speaker, their voices come, trembling yet reassuring.

Parents: "We're fine, son. Don't worry about us. Just take care of yourself. The news says demons could appear at any moment."

Yash (taking a deep breath): "Alright, Mom."

He ends the call.

The camera closes in on his face.

He sits on his bed, eyes shut—and suddenly, in just two seconds, his soul leaves his body and returns to his true home.

Outside, Yash begins chanting incantations.

With every word, the sky shifts color.

Dark clouds gather.

Thunder rumbles across the heavens.

Inside, Yash's father turns to his wife.

Father: "Quick, bring in the clothes. Looks like it's going to rain any moment."

But outside, the scene was entirely different—

As Yash completes the chant, a luminous circular barrier forms around their home.

So subtle it's almost invisible to the naked eye.

Yash smiles faintly.

Yash: "No demon will dare approach this house. And if one does… there will only be one outcome—death."

He steps beyond the barrier and disappears into the darkness.

Inside the house, Yash's father quietly gazes out the window.

There's a strange gleam in his eyes—as if he sees something invisible to everyone else.

The scene cuts to Mumbai.

The sky has turned black.

From within a Gate, thick smoke and fire pour out. An entire army of demons marches forth. Their growls and footsteps shake the very ground.

Suddenly, a voice cuts through the fog and chaos—

"Hey, you filthy demons! You thought you'd come here, kill us, and walk away? Hear this—none of you are leaving alive. I'll end every single one of you right here!"

As the voice echoes, four heroes emerge from the smoke.

The camera lingers on each face:

1. A mysterious magician, eyes glowing, hands engulfed in dark flames.

2. A flexible warrior, his body stretching and recoiling like chains of steel.

3. A roaring man who grows into a towering giant, his footsteps splitting the earth.

4. And the fourth—silent, calm, eyes closed, his very stillness hiding a deadly secret.

The battle erupts.

The magician raises his hands—undead warriors rise from the ground, striking demons with their blades.

The flexible man ensnares five or six demons at once, slamming them into walls.

The giant crushes foes with fists so heavy they scatter like ragdolls.

The battlefield is soon littered with demon corpses.

Everyone cheers, believing victory is theirs.

But then, the fourth hero suddenly roars—

"Stop! You've achieved nothing. Look around you. Are you sure not a single demon remains? If so—leave this place."

His voice is so cold it silences everyone.

The flexible warrior scans the field.

Flexible Man: "No. There's no one left."

But suddenly—

A devastating attack erupts from the shadows, aimed straight at him!

An energy wave slices through the air.

At lightning speed, the fourth hero—known only as Pops—leaps forward and blocks it with one hand.

His eyes blaze.

He speaks in a low, unshakable voice—

"Everyone, fall back. No one enters beyond this point."

Flexible Man (shouting): "But Pops, this is too dangerous!"

Pops doesn't answer.

He steps forward, vanishing into the darkness.

The camera follows him—then silence.

We cut to the inside of the Gate.

Whenever someone touches it, they're pulled within instantly.

Inside, two trials await:

First Trial: Physical.

Second Trial: Mental.

Outside, mere moments may pass—but inside, the test lasts six full hours.

Three hours for the physical test.

Three hours for the mental test.

Only after passing both does the individual receive power, according to their qualifications.

And that power is granted instantly.

A booming voice resounds:

"If you desire even greater strength, hunt demons. Gather their experience. Claim their essence."

Moments later—

Pops emerges from the smoke.

In his hand, the severed head of a demon, blood dripping.

His face bears no smile. Only silence.

That was Mumbai.

But now—

A Gate had appeared in Raipur.
