Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Order

[20 years old, under the pretext of recuperation, you create a gilded cage for Robin in the Dewlight Pavilion and have her move in.]

[Robin agrees without suspicion. After all, you are her brother; she has always felt that whatever you say is right.]

[Every single day, you make time to visit her, repeatedly whispering in her ear about the chaos and dangers of the outside world.]

[You emphasize that only here is the home where she can truly rest and recover in peace.]

[You constantly repeat that all of this is for her own good.]

[Robin vaguely senses that something is amiss, but under your persuasion, she accepts the arrangement.]

[This day, a new decree you've implemented is met with resistance.]

[A small gang of local thugs who have entrenched themselves in the commercial district, making a living through extortion and smuggling, dares to openly challenge your authority. They not only ignore the decree but even attack members of the Bloodhound Family who were sent to enforce it!]

[Excellent. This is the opportunity you have been waiting for. A perfect moment to showcase the new Head's iron fist and establish your authority.]

[You personally lead a team and quickly locate their hideout. During the raid, you order your subordinates to clear the area, then face the ferocious gang leader alone.]

[Before the absolute power of your "Harmony," all his resistance is futile. The dream shatters, and his screams cease abruptly. There is not a single ripple in your eyes, as if you had merely crushed an insect.]

[Villain Points +100]

[[Trait Devourer] triggered for the first time! Target is deceased, analyzing... Analysis complete!]

[Acquired temporary Trait in simulation: [Ambush (Blue)].]

[Effect: Enhances the next attack, dealing significant additional damage with a chance to apply a defense-down debuff.]

[This is a one-time use Trait. Load now? (Current loaded Trait slots: 0/3)]

Hearing the system prompt, Jiang Mo was thrilled. 'It finally worked! Trait Devourer!' Although it was just a three-star critical-type Trait, it was better than nothing. At least it proved the Trait was effective and could actually capture others' abilities. The Villain Points were also substantial. It seemed the system favored the 'violence against violence' style. In any case, he would load the Trait first.

[Trait [Ambush] loaded successfully. Current loaded Trait slots: 1/3]

[21 years old, while handling family affairs, you discover what seems to be an unstable and extremely powerful energy source hidden deep within the Penacony Grand Theater.]

[Late one night, you slip past all guards and sneak into the deepest part of the Grand Theater alone.]

[There, you see a... Stellaron, radiating an ominous purple-black light!]

[Just then, a familiar figure appears silently behind you. "It seems you've finally found this place, my most outstanding child."]

[Seeing Gopher Wood, you are not surprised, only curious as to why a Stellaron is here. But he doesn't explain its origin. Instead, he reveals a secret you had vaguely anticipated: "I have never truly believed in 'The Harmony'," Gopher Wood's eyes are as sharp as a falcon's. "The blueprint painted by Xipe and The Family is too weak to eradicate chaos. Everything I have done, all my years of planning, has been for one ultimate goal."]

["To resurrect that ancient, fallen Aeon who represents the ultimate truth of the universe—'The Order'!" His voice is filled with fanatical devotion. "And this Stellaron, along with all of Penacony, will be the cradle and sacrifice for Its second coming."]

[Gopher Wood's gaze locks onto you. "Sunday, I know that in your heart, you have already accepted the philosophy of Order. The era of Harmony is destined to end. Only absolute Order can bring true, eternal tranquility. Join me. Become the first apostle of the revival of 'The Order.' Together, we will create a flawless, perfect new world."]

[He pauses, his voice becoming more seductive. "A new world... where your most cherished sister can sing forever, safe and without a care."]

[This last sentence strikes the most obsessive part of your heart.]

[Faced with Gopher Wood's invitation, you choose to—]

[1. Agree. This plan aligns perfectly with your dream. You wish to help him achieve this beautiful vision with all your might.]

[2. Refuse. The plan is too insane and dangerous. Gopher Wood cannot be trusted. You will stick to your own methods of promoting Order.]

[3. Feign compliance. You will pretend to join him but remain absolutely vigilant, using his plan and resources to achieve your own goals.]

Jiang Mo considered the options. 'Agree or refuse? Hmm... no, neither is good. I'll pick 3. For the sake of Order, for his sister, Sunday would pay any price. And Gopher Wood? He's just a stepping stone on the path upward. I'll pretend to cooperate, then use him, drain him of his value, and finally... replace him!'

[You chose to feign compliance. Villain Points +50.]

[You express your agreement with the philosophy of "Order" to Gopher Wood, as well as your determination to devote yourself to it.]

[Gopher Wood is very pleased with your resolve and begins to reveal more about the forces of "Order," the Stellaron, and the details of his revival plan.]

[22 years old, you begin to maneuver between Gopher Wood and The Family.]

[On the surface, you use the new authority and resources given to you by Gopher Wood to actively promote the plan to revive "Order."]

[In secret, you maintain extreme vigilance towards him, waiting for the right moment to act.]

[At the same time, you quietly begin exploring Penacony's secrets.]

[During one investigation, you accidentally come into contact with the residual traces of an extremely ancient energy.]

[It is neither "Harmony" nor "Order."]

[It is a terrifying aura... seemingly endless, wildly proliferating, and chilling to the very soul.]

[The waters of Penacony are murkier than you anticipated.]

[This power is immense and very dangerous. But you believe that any power, as long as it can be assimilated by Order and utilized by you, can be made perfect and harmless.]

[And so, you touch it...]

[23 years old, Robin's injuries have fully healed. Her vocal cords are virtually undamaged, and her singing voice is as beautiful as ever, perhaps even more so.]

[Because of this, she once again yearns to sing, to venture into the outside world. She naively believes that her recovery means she can continue to spread the joy of Harmony to the cosmos with her song.]

[However, you once again refuse her request to leave, in the name of protection.]

[Once a cage is built, is it so easily broken?]

[But one day, Robin, without your knowledge, meticulously plans an escape.]

[She contacts old friends through secret channels and arranges for a ship to leave Penacony, preparing to travel to the next planet in need of her voice.]

[Unfortunately for her, none of her little movements escape your eyes.]

[The moment before her departure, you appear on the path she must take, blocking her way.]

[The sudden encounter drains the color from Robin's expectant face. She looks at you in terror, trembling like a child caught doing something wrong.]

[There is no anger, no reprimand, you don't even raise your voice. You simply gaze at her with an almost sorrowful expression. Then, you speak. Your tone is gentle, yet it carries a suffocating pressure.]

[You tell her you cannot imagine what would happen to you if she were to meet with another accident. The fear of that loss, the pain of that powerlessness, would be enough to completely destroy you. Your words are like daggers to her heart, each sentence a cry of anguish. Your voice seems to hold a magical power. After listening for only a moment, Robin's psychological defenses crumble. Guilt and self-blame overwhelm her. With tears streaming down her face, she sobs and apologizes, promising never to make you worry again.]

[After this, Robin completely gives up the idea of leaving Penacony.]

[She becomes quieter, more dependent on you. She no longer brings up the outside world or her singing career, even showing a hint of fear and avoidance towards such topics.]

[You are immensely satisfied with this result, believing your protection has been a success. Your sister is finally, completely safe.]

[24 years old, inside the Dewlight Pavilion, your sister Robin's living environment becomes more exquisite and luxurious, but also more isolated from the world.]

[All letters, information, and even books that reach her must first be personally screened by you.]

[You claim this is to "filter out the noise and malice of the outside world," allowing her to recuperate in a pure, undisturbed environment.]

[Robin believes you without question.]

[Most of the time, she is like a delicate doll, staying quietly in her room, practicing the musical scores you select for her, and re-reading the letters you wrote her in the past. She seems to have genuinely lost interest in the outside world. Her days and nights are spent eagerly awaiting the time you come to visit.]

[You have become the sole light and color in her monotonous life.]

[Your high-pressure policies and centralization of power finally arouse unease among some of the conservative elders within The Family.]

[One particularly senior elder from a branch family attempts to unite with others to question some of your decisions at a family meeting, under the pretext that your "actions are too radical and may incite turmoil."]

[However, you seem to have been prepared. You make a preemptive strike, defining their questioning as a blatant challenge to the authority of the current Head!]

[Then, like a hunter who has long laid a trap, you present your evidence.]

[It is irrefutable proof of this elder using his position for personal gain and even colluding with external forces.]

[Faced with the solid evidence and your overwhelming presence, the elder is rendered speechless. He is stripped of his power on the spot and then secretly "dealt with" by you on charges of "endangering the family's order."]

[The other dissenters fall silent, terrified.]

["Does anyone else have any objections?"]

[No one dares to answer.]

[From this point on, your position as Head is as solid as a rock, unshakeable.]

[25 years old, Robin, having been in a state of semi-isolation for a long time, becomes completely dependent on you.]

[Her world has shrunk to the point where it contains almost only you. All her joys and sorrows seem to revolve around you.]

[When you visit her after work, she is always overjoyed: "Brother, did work go well today?", "You must be tired, Brother... Shall we play some music together? I wrote a new song for you."]

[Or, she will nestle beside you and tell you contentedly: "Brother, as long as you're here, I feel so happy and safe."]

[Her eyes are filled with trust and a growing, almost crazed, intense emotion for you.]

[You begin to consciously guide her.]

[You make her believe that if her voice is used to serve your "Order," it will unleash a power far greater than "Harmony," a power that can change the world.]
