Chapter 136: In Your Eyes, There Should Only Be Me
After a long while, the sound of running water faded.
Inside the room glowing with faint green light.
The green-haired girl lifted her small head proudly, revealing her delicate pale chin.
She licked her moist lips, her gaze pressing down on Xi Nian beneath her.
"These past two days, because I was weak and sick, you didn't actually start thinking of me as some little sister that needs protecting, right? Brother?"
"No, nothing like that." Xi Nian swallowed with a dry throat.
Lorna's lips curved into a wild smile, brimming with possessiveness. She declared loudly, "I just want you to know—you'll always be my little brother. Don't even think about turning things around and becoming the boss!"
"I don't care about any other time. As long as I'm here, your eyes are only allowed to have me!"
With that, Lorna pressed her lips down on his once again.
Xi Nian couldn't think anymore. At this moment, he still carried Susan Storm's abilities—the power of invisibility, energy shielding, and force fields.
Now, as the Master of Affection was triggered again, he gained the extraordinary power from Lorna herself—
Magnetism!
Each of these abilities alone was already immensely powerful, often difficult to combine with others. Aside from universal abilities like Spider-Man's superhuman physiology, stacking abilities usually risked imbalance or even losing control.
But Susan's powers and Lorna's powers both specialized in control—both affecting fields of force. Their affinity with each other was unexpectedly high.
And so—
The two great controlling abilities, not tied to physiology, met within Xi Nian's body, fusing, colliding, and sublimating into something new!
Green light surged out from Xi Nian's body, merging with the glow around Lorna sitting on his waist. As blue energy shimmered in Xi Nian's eyes, it was as though a cosmic solar storm cascaded down from the heavens, transforming the green glow into an even higher energy form.
Green turned into deep blue.
Xi Nian's eyes, even his hair, were dyed rapidly by the strange fusion energy!
Whoosh!
His very presence disrupted the physical laws in the apartment. Everything in the room floated weightlessly, as if the whole apartment had been placed in the vacuum of outer space.
With Susan's powers alone, Xi Nian could manipulate shields and force fields.
With Lorna's powers alone, he could control metal through magnetism.
Now, he could command every tangible object around him, freely create and wield energy, overturn force fields, and truly become a destroyer of physical laws themselves!
Shrouded in a layer of blue energy, his short hair flowing blue, Xi Nian floated up from the bed. Holding the green-haired girl tightly against his chest, he tasted her sweetness once more.
"Little brother, you've powered up. Let's leave this place." Lorna gave him no chance to turn the tables, puffing her cheeks and patting his shoulder like an order.
"Alright, boss."
Xi Nian smiled faintly. Carrying her in a princess hold, he floated out of the room. His blue eyes swept toward the backpack on the sofa, which instantly flew to him and landed in Lorna's arms.
"Meow?" From inside the backpack, Xiao Huang blinked awake, curled atop her glass jar.
"We should go." Xi Nian carried Lorna low through the living room. The balcony window swung open on its own, letting them glide into the night sky. Behind them, the apartment lights flicked off.
Out on the street—
"What the hell was that?"
A man walking his dog looked shocked. He could have sworn he'd just seen a man and woman flying out of a balcony window nearby, but when he blinked, they were gone—
As if they had turned invisible.
…
Downtown Los Angeles.
The city's core glittered with dazzling LED lights, skyscrapers thrusting into the night sky. Even at midnight, the streets were buzzing with crowds.
And here, in the most expensive district of the sleepless city, a superhuman battle was raging!
Whoosh!
Gasps and screams echoed from onlookers as a missile chased a blazing humanoid figure through the night sky. From his burning silhouette, one could just make out the face and body of a handsome young man, buzz cut, looking a little like Captain America.
"Damn it! Victor, you bastard, trying to kill me for real! And to think I once thought he might be my brother-in-law!" Johnny Storm cursed, flames roaring as he tried to shake off the infrared-tracking missile. After weaving through the city, he realized he couldn't escape. He turned instead toward the seaside.
Moments later, a cargo ship exploded in a fiery blast, and the Human Torch's flames vanished into the dark waters.
Elsewhere, at the missile's launch site—
The top windows of a skyscraper shattered, and two grotesque figures locked in combat crashed down, slamming into a transport truck below!
Boom!
Amid sparks and blasts from the truck's cargo hold, the Thing was hurled out along with the massive rear doors, smashing into another vehicle dozens of meters away.
Thud!
From the truck's ruined cargo hold, a dark figure stepped forward.
Tall and imposing, cloaked in a black hooded cape, his body and face encased in steel armor. Arcs of lightning and plasma crackled violently from his form, a blend of terrifying sorcery and impossible technology.
He was the fifth man bathed in the cosmic storm, outside of the Fantastic Four—the industrialist who had funded their mission into space.
Victor Von Doom.
…
Victor's cold, hate-filled eyes glared from behind his mask. With a metallic hand raised, bolts of lightning erupted and shredded the street, tearing apart cars, lamps, and trees. Panicked civilians scattered as destruction reigned.
He looked like the embodiment of doom.
And clearly, the power he gained surpassed any of the Fantastic Four.
Victor fixed his gaze on the battered Thing. Raising his arm, a thick lightning bolt roared toward him!
But a figure in a Fantastic Four suit appeared, stepping in front. Susan raised her arm, a shimmering energy shield forming just in time to block the destructive strike.
Wind whipped her golden hair back as she clenched her teeth, already straining after less than two seconds.
Victor's eyes flashed cold. Lifting his other hand, another strike of lightning speared toward her!
"Get out of the way, Susan!" Ben Grimm shouted.
Susan knew she couldn't withstand another blast. She wanted to dodge—but her blue eyes widened in shock.
Because at that instant—
The energy shield before her rapidly grew and multiplied!
Blue energy surged into a barrier three times larger than her usual constructs, layered into three reinforced shells, completely enveloping her tall, elegant figure.
Crackling!!
The twin bolts of lightning crashed against the reinforced shield. They couldn't budge it at all, while stray sparks shattered the pavement below like brittle glass.
