Chapter 163: Auntie's Inexperience
The next day, Friday afternoon.
The school bell rang, signaling the end of class.
Students poured out of the teaching building in waves. Among them, a black-haired boy was the very first to dash out of the school gates.
Xi Nian's speed and decisiveness were so great that even superhumans like Gwen and Kara nearly failed to react in time.
Fortunately, Xi Nian had already told them in advance that he had to buy a gift tonight, so he wouldn't be heading home with them.
After leaving school, Xi Nian first stopped by a regular clothing store. Not long after, he returned home with a bulging backpack slung over his shoulder.
"I'm home!"
He pushed open the door, suppressing his excitement, and called out as usual.
"Welcome back."
Diana had come home early and was already waiting in the living room, seated gracefully on the sofa. Her long black hair was neatly tied up, and she wore her usual work attire: a stylish white shirt and black dress pants. Her long, well-proportioned legs rested elegantly together.
Though she greeted Xi Nian, she didn't get up to fetch his slippers or take his schoolbag like she often did. Instead, she remained seated, reading a book under the light, her flawless divine profile illuminated against the glow.
Seeing Xi Nian standing frozen at the doorway, Diana calmly said, "Didn't you say it starts right after school?"
"So you've already slipped into the role, Auntie…"
Xi Nian let out a sigh, shutting the door behind him. As he changed shoes on the carpet, he muttered, "So if it's a girlfriend, that means there's no coming-home service?"
"In my opinion, a girlfriend should let the man have more chances to show himself."
Diana replied without lifting her eyes from her book. "What you were describing before sounded more like something a wife would do after marriage."
As soon as the words left her lips, she seemed to realize what she had said. Abruptly cutting herself off, she closed the book and smoothly changed the subject. "Didn't you say we're eating dinner outside? When do we leave?"
Her expression and tone were calm and elegant, as if she weren't nervous at all.
So natural—
Xi Nian had the fleeting illusion that Diana truly was his girlfriend, and always had been.
As expected of his aunt. No matter the situation, she always handled it with grace.
In that case, he didn't need to hold back either.
"Before we head out." Xi Nian took a deep breath, stepped boldly toward Diana, and pulled a shopping bag from his backpack. "You must change into this!"
"What is this?"
Diana's beautiful eyes flickered with surprise as she accepted the bag from him.
…
"Auntie, have you changed yet?"
Xi Nian knocked lightly on her door.
No response.
"If we don't leave soon, Wanda will be home." He added softly as a reminder.
After a few moments of silence, the door cracked open just a little.
"Do I really have to wear this outside?"
Diana asked, her voice much less composed than before, her body hidden behind the door.
"Of course. I already changed." Xi Nian pointed at his own outfit.
"…Alright then." Diana bit her lip and closed the door again.
This time, it wasn't even ten seconds before the door opened wide. The demigoddess stepped out, looking a little uneasy.
Xi Nian's eyes lit up instantly.
Diana was now dressed in the outfit he had bought: a plain white T-shirt with a Minnie Mouse print on the front and a pair of matching jogger pants.
As for Xi Nian, he wore a black T-shirt printed with Mickey Mouse. Together, they were unmistakably… wearing couple's outfits!
Diana's expression was far from natural. One hand covered the cartoon design at her chest, while the other tugged nervously at the hem of her shirt.
The set had clearly been designed for younger couples. On Diana's model-like figure, the white shirt was a little too short, revealing her slim waist and delicate collarbones. The pants stopped just above her ankles, exposing a stretch of smooth, pale legs.
Xi Nian's gaze lingered on her petite, alluring belly button.
"Don't stare…" Diana muttered nervously, covering her stomach with her hand.
"Auntie, you've worn armor skirts in battle without a problem. Isn't this more normal than that?" Xi Nian's eyes sparkled as though he'd discovered a whole new side to her. To think that the nearly all-powerful aunt of his was inexperienced when it came to wearing couple's clothes.
"This is different."
Diana gritted her teeth and shot him a glare, but eventually dropped her hands and stood with composure again.
"Wait."
Xi Nian suddenly circled behind her and slipped the hair tie from her head.
Her silky black hair fell freely across her shoulders, soft and natural.
Xi Nian's breath caught.
She looked completely different—less like the graceful, intellectual goddess she usually was, and more like a youthful, vibrant woman. Mature charm and youthful beauty combined perfectly into one breathtaking vision.
This was the ultimate dream—an elegant, wealthy goddess with the freshness of a girl.
"Now you're satisfied?" Diana asked as she reached out to smooth the wrinkles in his shirt.
"Almost. Time to go." Xi Nian nodded.
But just as they reached the door and began changing shoes to head out—
Click.
The sound of a key turning in the lock.
Only three people lived in this house. It wasn't hard to guess who was back.
Xi Nian and Diana exchanged wide-eyed looks, both faces flashing with panic.
…
The red-haired girl pushed the door open.
Wanda stepped inside, glancing at the quiet, empty living room. Tilting her head in confusion, she murmured, "Neither Young Master nor Miss Diana are home?"
"What's this?"
Her eyes quickly caught something odd: two pairs of slippers left messily on the floor by the door, not put back into the cabinet.
Whoosh—
A chilly night breeze blew in through the open balcony door, rustling the sheer curtains hanging on either side.
"This family is far more exciting than the universe itself…"
In a glass jar at the balcony corner, the little starfish and Xiao Huang, cracked open an eye before quickly shutting it again.
Didn't see anything.
…
Downstairs, at the corner of a street not covered by cameras, Diana landed lightly while carrying Xi Nian. Both of them let out a breath of relief.
This was far scarier than facing Steppenwolf.
After all, the two of them were wearing couple's outfits. If Wanda had opened the door to see that, the consequences… would've been unimaginable.
Xi Nian understood all that.
But still—why did it feel like they were having an affair?
