Poking her head around the corners of each corridor, the nurse glanced toward the one where the patient had been admitted and smiled to herself.
"Let's see you hide it this time around," she muttered.
It was lunch break, the perfect chance for her to sneak out unnoticed. Bringing her hands forward to open the door handle, she grinned triumphantly—until a dagger pierced straight through the middle of her palm, digging deep into her flesh.
A sharp, sizzling pain tore through her arm. She tried to scream, but before a sound could escape, Alex appeared behind her and clamped a hand over her mouth.
"A sneaky thief, huh? Welcome to our world."
In one swift motion, Alex dragged her inside one of the empty wards and locked the door behind them. The nurse's muffled screams filled the air as blood trailed across the floor. She was dragged like a rag doll, her body limp and trembling, until Alex tossed her into a corner like discarded trash.
