Food rolled out, looking appetizing and pleasing, that Daniel could only gulp.
"I didn't know you were pregnant?" Michael winked as he dropped a plate of rice and stew on the table. Daniel turned to him; even he himself never knew at that time he was pregnant, so he wasn't the only one.
"I had no idea that period that I was carrying a baby, so just see it as something unexpected," Daniel replied and came closer to where the food was dropped.
"It looks delicious. Are you the one that cooked it?" Daniel asked, and Michael shook his head.
"Learnt from my mom; she owned a restaurant, may her soul rest in peace." Michael prayed and closed his eyes.
Daniel, who had begun eating, had a sorry look on him. He didn't even know whether to apologize or just offer a word of condolence.
"So sorry, Mike, about your parent." Saying this, he saw a smile splatter on his face, and he groaned in frustration.
Does he ever stop smiling? Like it was getting on his nerves.
