Chapter 103 - [103] Pakkun

Kakashi experienced the world twisting violently around him. The shift was brutal like being torn through a narrow tunnel. The moment he reappeared somewhere he could not make out his knees buckled under him and he collapsed into the dirt.

He bit down hard on the three-pronged Flying Thunder God kunai he had clenched in his mouth, refusing to let it fall even as agony flooded through him. His severed hand had already been cut cleanly at the wrist, yet the pain from the all around the body at the sudden relocation. Blood seeped from ruptured capillaries across his skin, in fine red beads that formed from the strain his body had endured. It felt as though his muscles were tearing apart from within.

He had never felt such concentrated suffering before, it hurt more than served hand.

His vision flickered and concussions struck one after another in rapid succession. The impact of sudden transfer had shaken his brain violently within his skull. The forest around him blurred and tilted, the air felt too thin to breathe.

Still, he did not release the kunai. He forced his jaw tighter until he tasted blood.

Then he fell unconscious.

Several dozen breaths passed in silence before space distorted once more. Minato Namikaze appeared beside his fallen student in a flash of yellow light.

He knelt beside Kakashi, and when he saw the state of his last living student, the severed hand and the other hand still clutching soil. His root uniform was soaked in blood, his chakra pathways unstable and violently fluctuating.

Minato's expression did not change, but his eyes hardened with a raging fury. It was because of Kumo. Even after their Raikage lay on his deathbed, they had not learned any lesson.

"They will pay," Minato murmured under his breath, his voice devoid of warmth.

During the war with Suna, stationed alongside Tsunade, he had forced himself to learn emergency medical ninjutsu. He had never intended to use it because he didn't want anybody to get hurt, yet under Tsunade-san tutelage he had quickly learned few basic medical ninjutsu. It was insurance against the unpredictable cruelty of war but he never he would have to use it so quickly.

He formed the Ox seal followed by the Tiger seal without hesitation.

"Mystical Palm Technique."

Soft green light enveloped his hands as he pressed them carefully against Kakashi's chest and wrist stump. He accelerated cellular regeneration where his chakra could directly contact tissue, stimulating damaged muscle fibers and closing ruptured vessels. The external wounds healed quickly under the controlled surge of green chakra.

However, the internal damage still remained, the mental shock and blood loss had destabilized Kakashi's internal organs, and Minato could feel the irregular rhythms beneath his palms. He stabilized what he could, sealing ruptured capillaries and slowing hemorrhaging, but full restoration required Lady Tsunade level precision.

After one minute of concentrated healing, Kakashi's eyelids trembled.

He gasped sharply and forced himself upright despite Minato's restraining hand.

His eyes burned with hatred. "Sensei," Kakashi rasped, his voice raw. "Is Guy alive? He used Eight Gates of Death to help me escape but i failed."

Minato did not interrupt.

Kakashi forced himself to recount everything between labored breaths. He described the unique clan's blood techniques and the six-year-old child who had commanded elite shinobi, who in turn followed his orders.

"That kid," Kakashi said hoarsely, clenching soil in his remaining hand. "He reorganized the moment I took out your kunai. He knew exactly what it meant. He ordered retreat instantly."

Minato's eyes narrowed slightly.

"He definitely not a normal kid," Kakashi continued. "They obeyed him without question. He must be a child of some high-ranking elder."

Kakashi spat out a mouthful of blood and forced out the next words. "Kill them, Sensei... especially the kid."

The effort drained the last of his adrenaline. Blood spilled from his mouth as he coughed violently. "They must have retreated and I do not know where I am."

Despite his condition, Kakashi forced himself through a final sequence of hand seals. He bit into his thumb and slammed his palm to the earth.

"Summoning Technique."

A small puff of smoke revealed Pakkun, the ninken whose lazy demeanor concealed sharp intelligence. The dog's eyes widened as he took in Kakashi's state.

Without wasting time, Kakashi pressed blood onto Pakkun's nose, specifically the blood he had gathered from Sayami during combat.

"Guide Sensei," Kakashi whispered. "Save Guy it is possible he is still alive and kill those b**tards. They deserve to die."

Pakkun's usual sarcasm vanished. "I will," he said solemnly.

With his mission delivered, Kakashi's body finally surrendered to exhaustion. He collapsed fully unconscious against Minato's supporting arm.

Minato's did not waste any time. He touched Pakkun and placed a FTG marking seal upon him to come to his side if necessary. Then he withdrew a large storage scroll from his pouch and hurled it high into the sky.

He already understood the general direction of retreat based on the terrain memory as he had already participated in war against Kumo at Hot water.

As the scroll unfurled midair, he teleported to it instantly to it, appearing dozens of meters above the treeline. With a swift motion, he flung the scroll toward the suspected battlefield location and released the seal.

"Kai."

Dozens of Flying Thunder God kunai burst free from the unsealed storage matrix, scattering across a mile-wide radius they embedded into trees, soil, and rock near the actual battlefield where Kakashi and Guy fought.

Minato teleported back to Kakashi before the scroll even completed its fall. He did not wait to for a free fall.

"Pakkun," Minato instructed quietly, lifting Kakashi into a princess carry with surprising gentleness. "Find Guy's body and inspect the battlefield thoroughly."

Pakkun nodded and sprinted off immediately, tracking scent with grim determination.

Minato closed his eyes for a fraction of a second.

Then he vanished.

He reappeared beside Tsunade in a border village to the west side of Land of Fire, where Konoha's forces had withdrawn into the Land of Fire following the halted Suna conflict and built a camp to enange Suna's squimirishes. The village bustled with shinobi and supply caravans, but silence fell instantly when Minato materialized in the center of the clearing holding a maimed Kakashi.

~~

A/N: Minato as usual heals Kakashi and brings him back to Tsunade who is stationed at west side of Land of fire. Pakkun went to track Guy, Sayami and the battlefield. Killer Bee is in transit flying from Land of frost making his way to battlefield. Renga is in Valley of Hell bleeding. Team A and Team B are at a nearby village in Land of Hot water. En Oyashiro, Yugito, Pakura are making their way back to Kumo and Ink bird is carrying information to Ay4. Might Duy is left sealed at Land of frost. Kagami is waiting for Minato at sand dunes of Land of Wind.

Hope you are able to make out the parallels.
