Dodai flickered in front of Jugo, his expression taut with concern. "I'm going to have to ask you to leave Jugo," he commanded.
"Shut up!" Jugo roared with a surge of fury as he reacted with explosive violence of his fist.
"Piston Fist: Style One!"
In the blink of an eye, Jugo's arm underwent a terrifying metamorphosis. His arms swelled, flesh hardening and reshaping into hollow looking jet boosters. The transformation amplified his throwing and striking power.
Dodai was caught completely off guard. He had approached trying to restrain from what he saw Jugo do to the Inuzuka ANBU, and was consciously holding back. That split-second hesitation cost him.
Jugo wasn't finished, capitalizing on his transformed state, compressed chakra erupted from his jet-like appendages.
"Jet Booster!"
With a deafening boom, Jugo propelled his fist forward. Dodai's eyes widened in shock at the sudden acceleration. "Damn it."
The fist connected with Dodai's face. The impact sent him skidding backward for several yards, his boots plowing deep furrows into the earth. Had he been prepared, Dodai could have easily utilized his Rubber Wall or Rubber Man technique to absorb and divert the kinetic energy into the ground.
But the force behind Jugo's punch was unbelievable. The blow rattled Dodai's brain, as his vision went dark. Seeing the enemy dazed, Jugo wasted no time, rushing forward to end the battle with a decisive strike.
Kaien shook his head, as he analyzed the situation. 'My False Distortion technique might not work while he's utilizing that Sage transformation,' Kaien thought. 'But wait... why isn't he going completely berserk? Is he actually maintaining some semblance of sanity? It has to be the effects of Grandma's medicine.'
Realizing Dodai-sensei needed precious seconds to recover, Kaien drew his dual blades. He hurled one at Jugo and the other at a massive boulder nearby. Jugo casually swatted the oncoming blade away, dismissing it as a weak distraction... but the moment his flesh touched the blade, the sealing was transferred to his skin. Simultaneously, the second blade embedded itself deep into the boulder.
Instantly, the immense boulder tore from the earth, hurtling toward Jugo's blind spot at a terrifying speed as it hit him in the back shattering the boulder.
Even though the boulder hadn't completely stopped him, it bought the necessary time. Kaien thought. 'Dodai-sensei is still the one best suited for putting Jugo down safely.'
Dodai has completely recovered in a few breath's time. "I am a failure as a teacher for being unable to stop my own student," he muttered to himself. He began a slow walk toward Jugo, who was already ferociously sprinting at him.
As Jugo lunged, Dodai wove a rapid hand signs, unleashing his highly adhesive Kekkei Genkai. The gummy, rubberized lava instantly wrapping around Jugo's flailing forearms. Jugo thrashed attempting to shake the substance off, but the moment his other hand came over to tear it away, it became trapped as well. No matter how hard Jugo pulled, the rubber simply extended and contracted.
"Lava Release: Rubber Cocoon!"
Dodai enveloped Jugo from neck to toe in a seamless shroud, hoisting him upside down from a sturdy tree branch. Jugo's face contorted with rage, his muscles bulging as he fiercely attempted to shatter that is sticking to him, but the rubber absorbed every ounce of his struggle.
"This ends now," Dodai said quietly.
As he looked at Shisui, who caught the cue and flicked beside Dodai. The three-tomoe design of his Sharingan spun rapidly as he locked eyes with Jugo. Yet, his unique physiology and natural sage energy granted him a resistance to mental intrusion; with a guttural growl, he shattered Shisui's Genjutsu.
Shisui's eyebrows shot up in surprise. Though his own chakra reserves were running dangerously low after his deadly fight against Kakashi, very few shinobi could casually break free from his visual genjutsu. 'Kumogakure sure has some wonderful talents,' Shisui thought, with hint of respect in his mind. 'First Kaien... and now Jugo.'
Shisui focused, channeling twice the amount of chakra into his ocular prowess, placing Jugo in stronger Genjutsu. Slowly, his breathing calmed, his expression softened, and Jugo finally reverted back to his normal form.

"So, where is Kakashi?" Dodai asked. Kaien's face turned into an enthusiastic smile. "I killed him."
"Finally, the first step to your revenge," Dodai said with a flicker of relief as he sized up Kaien for injury before his expression turned serious again. "It was a fluke that you even crossed paths with him today. You are still not ready, Kaien. Always be on your guard."
Kaien nodded. "I understand. Honestly, I couldn't have pulled it off alone." He cast a glance toward Shisui and Itachi, acknowledging their support. Then, leaning in a bit closer, he added, "And I've secured his body and the Sharingan."
Hearing that, Shisui and Itachi instantly exchanged a glance. They wanted to demand the eye back, but they held their tongues. It wasn't the time or place to ask. Instead, they made a mental note to report the situation directly to Fugaku-san the moment they got back to Konoha.
Dodai clapped his hands together to bring the attention. "Alright. Now that the mission is officially wrapped up, let's get you Uchiha kids back to Kumo."
"Thank you, Dodai-san," Itachi replied with his calm tone. "But Shisui and I still need to return to the village. We have to maintain the facade in front of the Hokage a little longer."
Kaien shook his head cutting him off. "No, it's too dangerous for you to go back now. Today is the day, the Uchiha are defecting, and Kumo is launching an attack on Konoha right now to ensure the rest of the clan escapes safely."
Shisui's eyes widened in genuine shock. "Today? I had no idea. Fugaku-san told us it wasn't supposed to happen until next week."
A silence took over the duo as the pieces clicked. Itachi was the first to voice. "Father lied to us. He changed the date so the two of us and the other Uchiha kids would be safely out at Kumo, just in case the rest of the clan didn't make it out alive."
Seeing the panic in their eyes, Kaien offered a reassuring smile. "Don't worry. Grandpa will save them."
"Grandpa?" Shisui blinked, momentarily thrown off.
"Ah, right. I forgot to mention," Kaien said with a slight shrug. "I'm the Raikage's grandson. I don't usually introduce myself as such because every enemy ninja would try to hunt me down. But honestly? Now, I almost wish they'd try."
With the plan changed, Dodai, Kaien, Guren, and Jugo turned back toward the Valley of the End alongside Shisui and Itachi. They needed to get to Izumi, Sasuke, and the rest of the refugees.
