Chapter 57 - The constellations

Jade watched the families gathering in the large garden of the estate.

Children were running between the trees, while adults spoke quietly in small groups.

Everyone seemed to know each other.

But something still confused her.

She turned toward Daniel.

"You said these families are under the protection of Constellation…"

Daniel nodded.

"Yes."

"But you said Constellation, not Vesperis."

Daniel looked at her for a moment before answering.

"Because Vesperis isn't the only one."

Jade frowned slightly.

"There are others?"

"Yes."

Daniel glanced toward the mansion where more people were arriving.

"Vesperis is one of the Constellations."

He paused before continuing.

"There are several others."

Jade's curiosity grew instantly.

"Other Constellations… like what?"

Daniel spoke calmly, as if it were something completely normal.

"Different houses. Different powers. Different territories."

He looked back at her.

"Constellations like Vesperis exist all over."

Jade slowly absorbed the information.

"So these families…"

"They're all under the protection of one of them," Daniel finished.

She looked around the garden again.

Suddenly the atmosphere felt different.

.

.

.

In the hidden world that exists behind ordinary society, Vesperis is not the only Constellation.

There are several Constellations spread across different regions of the world. Each of them protects certain families and maintains a delicate balance of power that most people will never know about.

Every Constellation has its own legacy, bloodlines, and traditions.

-VESPERIS

Vesperis is the Constellation of the Ooman.

It is one of the most powerful, respected and mysterious Constellations.

The Ooman bloodline is known for its rare abilities and the strange curse that has followed their family for generations. Because of this, many families have sworn loyalty to them and live under their protection.

The families protected by Vesperis gather once every year at the residence of the eldest member of the Ooman family.

This gathering is organized by Daniel's great-uncle, who preserves the traditions and watches over the bond between the Constellation and the families under its protection.

For them, Vesperis represents power, protection, and legacy but since the day vesperis cursed them, there's almost fear that certain feel especially those families that are not among the the big five constellations.

-AURELION

Aurelion is the Constellation of ancient noble bloodlines.

The families under Aurelion are known for their deep connection to history and tradition. Many of them have existed for centuries, guarding knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation.

They preserve old pacts between Constellations and keep records of the hidden history of this world.

Because of this, Aurelion is often seen as the keeper of memory and legacy.

-NOCTYRA

Noctyra is the Constellation of shadows and secrets.

Very little is known about them.

The families under Noctyra are masters of information, intelligence, and surveillance. They move quietly in the background, gathering knowledge that others cannot reach.

Many powerful organizations unknowingly operate under their watch.

There is a saying among the Constellations:

"If Noctyra wants to know something… they already do."

-SOLMIRA

Solmira is the Constellation of guardians and healers.

The families protected by Solmira are known for their strong sense of justice and loyalty.

They often act as mediators when conflicts arise between other Constellations, maintaining balance and preventing chaos.

For many, Solmira represents hope, protection, and stability.

-DRAVARYN.

Dravaryn is the constellation of strength and warriors.

The families under Dravaryn are known for their discipline and power.

Many of them have strong ties to military forces, security organizations, and strategic defense networks around the world.

They are respected—and sometimes feared—by the other Constellations.

When conflict becomes unavoidable, Dravaryn is the one that stands at the front.

These are the most powerfull constellations, they have others small constellations that are also related to others families

.

.

The garden behind the mansion was enormous.

Ancient trees surrounded the estate, their branches forming a natural canopy above the gathering. Lanterns made of crystal and gold hung from the branches, gently swaying in the breeze.

Even in daylight, they shimmered faintly.

As if tiny stars were trapped inside them.

Families were scattered across the garden, speaking quietly, greeting one another warmly. Children ran across the grass while older members stood near the marble fountain at the center.

Everything felt peaceful.

Almost unreal.

Jade looked around slowly, trying to take everything in.

"This place looks like it came straight out of a fantasy novel," she muttered.

Daniel walked calmly beside her.

"It's just a town."

She gave him a side look.

"Right. And those floating lanterns are totally normal too."

Daniel didn't reply.

Which somehow made it even more suspicious.

Several people began to notice them.

Whispers spread softly through the garden.

Some people nodded respectfully toward Daniel.

Others slightly lowered their heads when he passed.

Jade noticed immediately.

Her eyes narrowed.

"Oh."

Daniel glanced at her.

"Oh what?"

She crossed her arms while walking.

"So this isn't just your cute little hometown."

Daniel said nothing.

Jade continued sarcastically,

"Let me guess."

She gestured around the garden.

"All these people aren't here because they love the weather."

Daniel finally looked at her.

"They're here for the gathering."

"Yes, yes, I heard that part."

She leaned slightly closer to him and whispered,

"But the way they're looking at you…"

Another family greeted Daniel respectfully as they passed.

Jade raised an eyebrow.

"…it feels less like a meeting and more like I accidentally married a secret king."

Daniel almost smiled.

"Don't exaggerate."

"Oh I'm not exaggerating," she replied immediately.

She pointed discreetly toward a group of elders who were staring at Daniel with clear respect.

"They look like they're about to kneel."

Daniel sighed quietly.

Before he could answer, the large doors of the mansion opened.

The conversations in the garden slowly faded.

An elderly man stepped outside.

Tall.

Elegant.

His silver hair was perfectly combed back, and despite his age, his presence was overwhelming.

The atmosphere shifted instantly.

Daniel stopped walking.

Jade noticed.

"Don't tell me…" she murmured.

Daniel looked toward the mansion.

"That's my great-uncle."

Jade stared at the man.

Then she looked back at Daniel.

Then at the entire crowd.

Then back at Daniel again.

"…Yeah," she said slowly.

"I definitely married into something weird."
