"My lord," he said quietly, "there is nothing more I can do for her. Her wounds are too deep. She is losing blood faster than we can replace it, and there are injuries inside her that cannot be treated with the remedies we have."
Meical's shoulders flinched, but he said nothing.
The physician continued, voice heavy with regret. "Your parents and brother… their deaths were instantaneous. They suffered no pain. Their hearts were pierced. There was no way to save them."
Silence fell again.
Sanya shuddered weakly, another tear sliding down her cheek.
Min jae pressed a hand to his mouth as his eyes watered further. Modern medicine would have saved her. Machines could have stabilized her. A hospital could have given her a chance.
But here… here nothing could.
He wished he could change the world for Meical. He wished he could drag a hospital into this room with sheer will. He wished he could erase this pain.
But all he could do was watch.
