TO BE FAIR, Wonyoung wasn't lying when he said he had amnesia when he woke up from his coma.
He didn't have memories of the original timeline, after all.
Hence, it was easier for him to act and lie in front of the entire country.
"I wasn't in my right mind when I woke up because my memory was a mess," Wonyoung continued with his explanation. "I'm ashamed to admit this, but waking up with an unstable mind caused me to have an aversion towards my own son. I couldn't feel any attachment towards him. When we consulted a doctor later, we found out that it was because of my late postpartum depression. I was asleep for 5 years, so it only caught up to me after I woke up from my coma."
Yeah, he was mixing his amnesia trope with his recent diagnosis.
"But, at the time, I thought I just hated my son because I didn't remember having him."
Admittedly, Wonyoung felt guilty about lying on this part.
