Axel was heading toward the Library, his steps uneven, his pace slower than usual, as though his body had not fully caught up with his intention to move forward.
His head felt heavy, his vision was still slightly blurred from everything he had been forcing himself not to feel.
The corridor stretched ahead of him, the sounds of other students moving around him muted, as though he were walking through a layer of glass that separated him from the rest of the world.
He didn't notice Dallas immediately.
It wasn't until Dallas caught up with him and stepped into his path that Axel stopped short, almost colliding with him.
Dallas stood there, blocking the way without touching him.
"The class is about to start, you know that you cannot miss the lecture, where are you going?" Dallas said, still standing in his way.
Axel lifted his gaze, but only briefly, his eyes still unfocused.
"I don't feel like sitting in there." Axel said before trying to walk away.
