After Axel and Dallas had followed the guide man for most of the day after class.. bothering him, stopping him in corridors, calling after him whenever they spotted him, the man finally gave in.
Axel had asked politely at first, then insistently, then desperately, and Dallas had backed him up every time, repeating the request until it became impossible to ignore.
By the time night settled in, the guide man looked thoroughly worn down, his patience stretched thin, and only then did he agree to bring in another bed.
The room felt different once the extra bed was dragged inside. The narrow space felt smaller. As he prepared his new bed, adjusting the sheets and straightening the thin mattress.
Dallas lingered nearby, watching him for a moment before clearing his throat and excusing himself, saying he would go out for a second.
Axel barely looked up, already focused on fixing the corner of the sheet.
