On the snowy mountain, little Elwyn, who had just finished having a conversation with Scraf, was outside the cave ruminating on what they had just talked about.
Humans and wild beasts are different. I am a human."
Elwyn was murmuring. Having been told by Scraf that humans and wild beasts train differently, and in fact, all living beings train differently, but wild beasts, unlike humans, share a common trait.
They are born with their training techniques ingrained in their memories. And they are also born with special talents that they can learn to use on their own as they grow.
They don't need anyone to teach them anything because, as they grow, they unlock their memory inheritance and train according to it.
Unlike humans, who are born with nothing but a weak body, soul, and spirit. And they need to create training patterns or techniques to get stronger.
All the information was too much for the little Elwyn to take in, so he was outside trying to make sense of the whole thing.
While it did not make sense to see a little child of barely two months old with white hair and brows, sitting on a mountain top, thinking about life, it was the exact scene being painted here.
As Elwyn was still thinking about it, Big Grund was seen coming up to where he was sitting.
"What is troubling you, little one?"
He asked.
"I'm thinking about training, Mom said that we're different, so we can't train alike and all. I don't want to leave you guys, I want to train like y'all."
Elwyn slowly recounted his troubles.
"So, if I'm not wrong, you're worried that you are not able to be normal, right?" he asked again.
Elwyn nodded slowly.
"Fuck"
"You're actually worried that you won't be normal. When have you ever been normal?"
"Just look at yourself, what normal human child will have white hair, and be sitting out in such a chilling environment?
Nothing about you says normal. So why the hell are you thinking about being normal?"
Big Grund carelessly reprimanded Elwyn, who stared absentmindedly at him,
"Humans can't train like wild beasts, so what?
Just because they can't, doesn't mean you can't. You have never been normal; if training like wild beasts will make you strange, be strange, little friend. I will teach you how bears train. You should learn the ones you can, and for the ones you can't, just let it be.
Let me tell you something, this place is not my birthplace. I left my hometown, which is in the Arctic, and decided to explore the world. That is because it was strange to do so. At First, we swam for a really far distance, then through one river we took, came upon a rainforest region, and we came upshore and decided to enter it. I like strange things, and actually, I took you in because you are strange. While roaming, I came upon this place, which is actually not an arctic region, but is full of snow all year round for some reason that I don't know. Besides, we later found out that this place's natural energy is far denser than every other arctic region, and it's perfect for creatures that live in cold regions.
Boy, you're super strange, cause where else will you see a human child that is able to survive this kind of cold environment?
We bears are naturally strong and have a huge bite force compared to humans. However, you don't have to worry about that, cause you don't need to use your teeth to fight.
When I go hunting next, I think you can come watch, but I don't know if you're old enough to see such things.
"You don't know it, but it's usually a fight for survival out there. Any mistake can mean the end of your life. So I think you need to think it through; it's not too late to do it when you're a lot older."
Big Grund said carefully to the little child. Actually, he'd very much like him to start learning how to survive now. Moreover, it's not really going to be as dangerous as he made it seem, because, while he was not the strongest beast in the whole forest region, he's definitely the strongest in this mountain range. And the hunt won't really go beyond the mountain range. Also, he's just trying to teach Elwyn how it's done, so there won't really be any intense fight. But he can't tell him all these, so that the little child won't take such things lightly.
Elwyn looked like he was thinking for a while. Big Grund allowed him to think for as long as he wanted. After a while, Elwyn turned to him and said,
"I want to go.
My Mother told me to create my own training techniques; she didn't even tell me how to do it, or what should even be done. I don't even know how to use the energy they are talking about, but I can feel it in my body. It's what's been making my body grow so quickly all along.
I want to know how your body works and how you train. I want to know if I can create anything by watching you."
"Hahahaha.
I knew you'd want to go."
Big Grund stood up and told him to follow up.
"Aren't we bringing Jnr too?"
Little Elwyn asked
"Nope, we're not. That little guy is just a cub; he doesn't even know when to stop eating yet."
Grund replied.
They moved down a bit towards the east side of the mountain. The snowy mountain was a towering mountain that almost rose to the clouds. Reaching almost ten thousand meters above the sea level. It looks very weird with its northern side being especially hollow, as if a large part of it was blown off by a big explosion. On the east side, though, is a place that looked like a plateau, and plenty of little animals lived there. The animals were little, actually, compared to Grund, who stood almost four metres tall and weighed two thousand, three hundred kilograms.
As they moved around on the ground that was thickly covered in snow, Big Grund said to Elwyn, who was now sitting on his shoulder,
"I perceive the scent of a beast, about one hundred and seventy kilometres to our right hand. Should we approach it?"
Elwyn's heartbeat sped up a little. This was a new experience for him, but at the same time, he felt a little excited. This is because, ever since he gained consciousness, he has always been either in the cave or just outside of it. The cave was very close to the mountain top, and other animals rarely approached there.
"I don't know, should we?"
Elwyn replied.
"Hahahahaha."
"There's no need to be scared. Let's just go and see", Grund said to him.
"Okay", Elwyn replied slowly.
They slowly approached the unknown beast, and as they got closer, Elwyn was feeling different kinds of emotions. But as he felt like it was becoming dangerous, he unknowingly became calmer. When they got to about 9 kilometres away from the unknown beast, Big Grund said almost with a whisper,
"If we get a little closer, I can get a view of what it is, and we'll know if we're going to attack, ok."
Elwyn looked forward and frowned a bit.
"I can see it."
He said.
