Peter got the names of the leaders of the group Erick is part of, and left after placing various tracking spells on everyone in the building.
After making his preparations to wipe out or cripple a large portion of Hydra, he will seek them out.
If Peter takes care of them right now, the rest of Hydra will be alerted.
Leaving the building, Peter looked for a secluded area with no witnesses or surveillance cameras and created a portal to a secluded alley in New York that he already knew had no surveillance cameras.
Alfred is the one who warns him if there are witnesses before creating a portal.

May and Peter had originally planned to spend the day together.
Since they had money, they planned to go out for a walk and eat out before returning home.
