Chapter 75
Markus grinned under the mask, reading through the finalised contract waiting for him to adhere by what he agreed upon.

Done with that he grinned, walking up towards Mr Argents with a smirk on his face.
" W-why a-are you d-doing th-this?" Chris had enough energy to question him, the smartest question asked yet.
" That is none of your business Mr Argents." Markus disregarded him, holding out his arms towards the man.
" Blessing Magic: Divine Grace. " Markus casted, his hands glowing a golden light feeling the way his mana seemed to shift into divine energy.
The spell was one he created earlier, a temporary blessing of accelerated regeneration.
The idea and blueprint of this blessing was taken from his regeneration ability, he found that he had a far easier time translating abilities and skills he had into blessings than to come up with one without basis.
That wasn't to say that he couldn't though, it would have taken a far longer time then he had left though.
Chris gawked in awe as the golden light from the man infront of him streamed into his body, quickly he felt his body stabilize as his wounds slowly knitted together before his healing rune suddenly jumpstarted into power in a way he never experienced before.
The entire process had him flabbergasted, feeling as not only did his body feel rejuvenated but even his well of magic regenerated tens of times faster.
That to him was impossible or unprecedented.
That immediately made him all the more warrier of the masked man, suspicion gnawing at his gut.
Even though he had helped them subdue the Beast Alpha and even saved his daughter, his intentions were still not clear to him and he didn't like that.
And the fact that he called himself Doctor Warlock did nothing to soothe his worries.
Markus watched the man he was healing churn his brain, definitely wondering about him with no doubt and scoffed finally done with healing him.
" There, done." He muttered, looking back at Allison before his eyes drifted to his brother Scott." Now it's time for you."
Scott immediately perked up at that, frowning and hopeful at the same time.
He wanted to feel greatful for the man about to heal him, because he didn't know whether his natural werewolf healing would have been able to heal his grievous wounds and he didn't want to go to the hospital where his nature would be found out and where his mother was.
But everything about the man irked him, he couldn't put a finger to it but he just couldn't find it in himself to like him.
That probably had something to do with the way Allison had been looking at the masked man, greatful and something more.
Though at least she got the masked man to heal him, even though she hadn't been the one to broker that deal and was instead a freebie thrown to sweeten the deal for whatever the contract entailed.
" You know, you don't look anything like your twin brother." Immediately that had the attention of everyone still conscious or not dead, frowns plastering their faces at the masked man's words.
Scotts eyes widened, frowned and stiffened.
" You, you know my brother?" Scott asked, growling actually as his eyes glowed a sickly yellow." Does he work for you?! Did he send you here?!"
" Work for me? Hah!" Markus scoffed, finally springing up his lie even as he ignored Scotts growling." No, Scott. Markus is my prisoner and has been instrumental in my experiments, he's allowed me a breakthrough of the millennium, his DNA contains multiple supernatural genetic markers and all the power that comes with it."
"" What?"" Allison, Chris and Scott perked up for a various of reasons.
Allison was worried and fearful for the first person that she had called friend in this town, now hearing that he was reduced to nothing but a prisoner being experimented on by the man that had just saved her made her stomach twist—somehow believing that this was all her fault.
Chris instead worried for the possible danger that presented, a man that had somehow been able to fuse multiple supernatural races into a single person. That much power in the hands of supernatural creature was dangerous, and the person able to make such creatures was even worse—immediately he knew that he had to stop him, but from his capabilities Chris knew that would be impossible.
Scott on the other hand was a rilling mess of emotions, first he felt relief at his brothers fate, he knew that he shouldn't have but he did—there had been no love between him and his brother for a long time and he always worried that he would one day come out of nowhere and ruin things for him and Allison as he knew that she felt something for him no matter what refusal she may say.
Then there was the fear and envy that somehow he had obtained such power, that to him wasn't fair—finally in his life he had something unique about himself, his werewolf gift as Derek had shown him made him special and the thought that his brother had once more overshined him made him despair but now the silver lining was that he'd probably never see or hear from him again, another win for him.
Then there was greed, he wondered whether he could somehow get the man to give him the same power that he had given his brother—maybe through those contracts that were definitely magical in nature.
And as his wounds knitted, through the conversation having been healed by the man's strange power.
And before Scott could even get a say Allison move faster than he'd ever seen her, even with her runes as wind brushed through their location in gusts.
And before he could process what was happening, Allison had her bow in hand, arrow notched and pointed straight at the masked man's head with a dangerous scowl on her face.
" Where is he!?" She asked, wind forming around her arrow in a sharp whistle.
Markus seeing this almost burst out chuckling, a grin settling on his face.
" Oh?" Markus muttered, amusement clear in his voice.

Double Update cause I don't think I'll have time to write tommorow, still trying to find a place to stay :) ]
" Oh?" Markus muttered, amusement clear in his voice.
" Tell me where Markus is or I swear to God I'll put this arrow through your eye!" Allison commanded, winds picking up around him in a show of pure magic—her awakened gift seemingly having strengthened.
" Hah! You almost sound concerned for him." Markus muttered under his mask, his voice distorted in a show of cruel amusement.
" What are you talking about?" Allison questioned, frowning at the implication that she didn't care for the man had been her first friend.
" Well, from what I hear from him, his life has gone downhill ever since he met you." Markus muttered, half lie and half truth from what he actually felt.
" W-what?" Allison asked, her voice shaking and wavering, even the strength she put into pulling her arrow slagged as the wind on it dissipated.
" Oh yes, he's told me all about you people while under my 'care'" Markus started." About how you betrayed him, throwing him into the dogs before hunting him like one."
" N-no, that's not true!" Allison shouted, conflicts of emotions surging through her.
" Of how you pretended to be his friend, getting close to him and then just like that you stole everything from him." He stated happily, staring straight at her." How you took his life away from him."
" I-it w-wasn't l-like that! H-he got himself dealt with a demon! I-i w-was just trying to h-help him!" Allison shouted, her eyes tearing.
" By hunting him down?" Markus asked." Chasing him out of the only home he ever knew?"
" I-i didn't mean to!"
" And yet you did!" Markus shouted back.
" N-no!"
" Oh and Allison." Markus called to her, preparing to deliver one last piece of information just so she could stew away inside.
Markus almost felt bad for her, he wondered whether he was going to far as it really seemed as if she had thought she was helping somehow.
But he had lost too much, pushed to a corner before he could properly defend himself to forgive her just like that.
Her misery would pave way for him to do much more, the hunters and especially Scott were the doors while Allison was the key to both their suffering and somehow he felt great pleasure in that.
" Stop it, that's enough!" Chris shouted, seeing the state her daughter had been brought too.
He hadn't even known that the boy, Markus had meant that much to her as he'd only met him once before he had been flagged as an asset to obtain information out of Scott about the Alpha.
" No, it's not and you're just as much of a catalyst to this as she is after all, if not for all of you I would have never obtained such a great specimen of human biology for me to finally create the perfect chimera!" Markus muttered, sounding almost insane intentionally.
" After all, you pushed that boy to me."
" He was a Warlock, we did what we had to do to protect humans from demons!" Chris defiantly said.
" But you see." He muttered, turning towards Allison." Markus was never a Warlock."
" W-wh-at?" Allison muttered, shock and disbelief in her voice." N-no! I-i saw it m-myself! The m-mark of t-the warlock!"
" No, common misconception for the magically unlearned actually but there are two types beings that fall under that mark." Markus muttered, stringing up a carefully constructed lie that he had fortified after obtaining information from the Tome Of Blessings, giving him the perfect lie.
" The Warlocks, those who make deals with demonic creatures." Markus told them, glancing at Peter who was still struggling with a snort." Then there are The Champion's, those blessed by the Gods."
Quickly that information settled on their faces, horror dawning on Allison at the prospect that she had probably mistaken Markus for something he was not, and in doing so damning him.
Then there was the skeptic disbelief on Chris's face." That's impossible! The Gods disappeared a Millenia ago!"
" Oh but that's where you're wrong, after all I'm a Warlock myself and when I found a Champion in this day and age I was quite shocked, but that doesn't matter anymore." He muttered, walking in circles with a laidback pose.
" And why is that?" Scott questioned, finally speaking up.
" Because I took his Blessed status, I devoured his power for myself and became so much more!" Markus muttered feverently, spreading his arms out as magic bloomed with him at the centre.
All around him the elements seemed to bloom.
Fire sparking in a ball of blue flames, Earth gouging out from the earth, water materializing from the water particles around them, wind picking up in a ball of controlled cyclones.
Chris seeing the display took a step back, quickly followed by Scott and Allison.
Seeing their expressions Markus knew that he had sold his lie, the impact of his power being unrefutable to his words.
" T-then what is that you want from us?" Scott asked, fear clear in his eyes as he watched my magical showing come to a sudden end.
" I'm a persuer of knowledge above all but I also do love making deals and collecting, and I've already made one deal today, so what's one more...." Markus muttered, his eyes drifting to the air where a screen hovered infront of him.
[—Ding! You've through contractual magic obtained the following!

At the Markus' words his observers looked on to him on confusion.
Markus ignored them though, instead his eyes drifted to Scott and Derek.
" Now tell me, who between you wants to become an Alpha?" Markus asked, a grin on his face as he waved his hand towards Peter who immediately froze, maniac panic flooding him.
Chris hearing what he said frowned, they had been mercilessly destroyed by Peter in their altercation before the masked man appeared, the thought of another Alpha appearing did not bore well for him.
Especially thinking of what he'd do when his daughters monster boyfriend obtained that kind of power.
Scott and Derek on the other hand immediately looked on to each other, greed in their eyes even as Derek wavered from the pain.
Allison on the other hand was unresponsive to his words, staring blankly in space with her bow having dropped after Markus told her of 'his' fate and words to them.
Markus seeing this though grinned, his plans were going just as he expected.
