That call was unbelievable for me. That call told me,
"Miss Samira, you must be thinking that your brother got killed by Mr. Pratap, but it is not true. A whole web of people is there, and he will kill your whole family and friends. He is in anger, and he killed Mr. Pratap and vanished his whole family. And it's your time now. Be ready, and don't track me."
These were the words he said to me.
Sarthak cried. I was kneeling in the middle of the engagement hall.
"I will investigate it myself. He doesn't know who I am," I said with a smirk.
You must be thinking this is a romance novel, but this is a revenge one. I am the number one killer and detective, and he doesn't know it. I have my good side, but my bad side exists too. Let's change this story into my revenge one.
I stood up.
"Let's go, now."
I started walking. Anvi, Sarthak, and Manya followed me. They were furious.
Sarthak was shocked.
"Where are you going, babe?"
"Bro, you must be thinking that we are sheltered girls, unaware of the real world. But that's not true. Just follow us."
We went to my home quickly and walked into the lawn. I was searching for a button.
Sarthak asked, shocked, "What are you doing? And where are we going?"
Suddenly, the door opened. It was an underground lab. There were stairs.
I walked down and turned around.
"Let's go. I'll tell you everything, okay?"
When we went downstairs, he was shocked. Two people were working on their PCs. One was Krati, and the second was Tia — our classmates.
"Hey Sam, we found the call's location. It came from Wall Street," Tia said.
"Good. Sarthak, come here."
I pulled him toward the wall — that's what he thought — but when I pushed a button, it opened into my office. We went inside.
Sarthak was shocked again.
"Hey, sit down," I said.
He sat and said, smiling, "I never noticed there is an underground chamber in the lawn of your house."
"Of course you don't know. It was a secret. I made it when the house was under construction."
As I pressed another button, clicking sounds filled the room, gears rolling. A board came out. I opened it. It was a web of information — threads, sticky notes, photos, and more.
Sarthak stared, shocked.
"So, let's start," I said, looking at Anvi and Manya. We nodded.
I took out a stick and pointed to a picture.
"This is the place from where the call came. We investigated. It's the same place from where we got the call last time."
"We will go there and investigate. Tia, you'll give us information about Mr. Harrington. Krati, you will track Harrington because he will attack again."
"Anvi, you will call Mrs. Trilingual to know the recent news about Matrika. Is she okay?"
"Manya and I will go to Wall Street to investigate and check the cameras we placed last time."
I sat down.
"You all understood today's mission?"
We put our hands together.
"Then let's go."
But Sarthak stopped us.
"Wait. You're investigating Aarnik's death? Are you crazy? I didn't even know about this."
I stopped.
"You all go. Manya, pack the necessary things. I'll tell him everything."
They left.
I sat beside him.
"I'll tell you everything from the start."
"The thing started when I was 18. I had graduated some time ago. I was roaming in my father's office when his assistant came with an envelope. Out of curiosity, I opened it."
"There was information saying my brother's death was a murder. It was believable because we never found his dead body."
"So I told Manya. We took help from everyone — our friends. I learned coding, firing, and even taekwondo. I learned everything."
"When I turned 21, I was ready. I told my mother I was going to study, but that was a lie. I went to strengthen my connections. That's why I know things you don't. It was all my plan."
He was shocked.
"Were your feelings also a plan?"
"No, it w—"
Manya's voice interrupted.
"Sam, it's time."
I nodded and left.
In the car, Manya asked,
"You're really not going to tell him?"
"No."
"But why?"
"Because we're going on a mission, and I don't want a quarrel. Did you bring the revolver, bombs, and everything?"
She nodded.
"Then let's go."
We stopped the car and ran.
"We'll stay connected through walkie-talkies. We meet here after one hour."
We separated.
I went to Call Ball Road. We had planted a camera there. I changed the file and went to the main street where their camp was. I changed the camera file there too.
Suddenly, a bullet hit the letter box near the camera. I dropped down.
"Manya, can you hear me? Over."
"Yes, what happened? Over."
"Firing is happening here. Come quickly. Over."
I started shooting. There were many people. Manya arrived, and we both fired. After some time, the firing stopped. Our time was up, so we left.
In the car, I asked,
"Did you change all the files?"
"Of course, Sam."
We cheered and returned to base.
In the chamber, everything went well. Mission completed. We celebrated with juice.
"Anvi and Tia, start. First Tia," I said.
"I found that last week he went to the Maldives, where he met a gang. I couldn't find much about them, but this gang planted last year's bomb V-sport in Turkey. This is the same gang Pratap met before his death."
"Good. Now Anvi," Manya said.
"Matrika's health is good. Her brother is still in a coma. Her mother is stable now."
"Good. Let's meet tomorrow at 11:00 a.m."
We left.
Sarthak drove the car. He was angry.
At home, Mom hugged me.
"Where were you? Don't you know how dangerous it is outside?"
"Maa, we just went to the hospital to check if my baby is okay," I lied. Manya agreed.
In my room, I tried talking to Sarthak. He didn't reply and slept.
I slept too — but I couldn't understand why he was angry, or about what.
