The shockwave had torn through several corridors, pulverized entire pillars, and opened massive fissures in the walls of the draconic castle. Pieces of stone continued to fall from the ceiling with heavy thuds while red flames burned everywhere among the rubble. The air had become suffocating. The temperature had risen so high that even the metal of the armors hanging on the walls was slowly warping from the heat.

In the middle of this destruction,

Damian had just managed to get back to his feet with difficulty.

His entire body was trembling slightly from the pain. His back was covered in dust and blood. The previous blow had struck him so violently that he could still feel his organs vibrating inside his chest. His left arm hurt horribly. Even simply moving his fingers had become difficult.

He slowly raised his head.

And he saw Vulcan advancing through the flames.

The Dragon seemed completely different from usual. His immense aura was literally crushing the atmosphere around him. The ground blackened with every step he took. Waves of heat distorted the air around his body—his mere presence was enough to melt space itself.

But what truly chilled Damian…

were his eyes.

They were empty.

Completely.

There was no consciousness left in that gaze. No trace of the Vulcan they all knew. No anger. No pleasure. Nothing.

Just a total absence of emotion.

Like a killing machine.

Damian immediately clenched his teeth.

— "Vulcan… what the hell is wrong with you… this isn't the time to lose your shit."

No response.

The Dragon simply continued advancing toward him.

Then suddenly,

the magical pressure exploded.

Gigantic flames appeared around Vulcan and began swirling violently around his body like living serpents. The mana in the air became so dense that Damian immediately felt his breathing grow heavier.

And the next instant,

Vulcan disappeared.

Damian's eyes widened.

Even injured, his instincts screamed danger.

Then—

BOOOOM.

Vulcan had appeared right in front of him.

His fist shot forward instantly.

Damian barely had time to raise both arms to protect himself.

The impact was monstrous.

A huge shockwave instantly swept through the entire room. The walls exploded. The ground shattered beneath their feet. Even the flames around them were blown away by the sheer violence of the strike.

Damian felt his arms break under the impact before he was hurled through several meters of stone.

CRAAAAASH.

He literally smashed through a massive wall and rolled violently into an old secondary hall of the palace. Pieces of columns fell around him.

The silence lasted a few seconds.

Then Damian let out a muffled cry as he immediately clutched his left arm.

The blow had nearly destroyed his entire defense.

His shoulder had been violently dislocated.

Even breathing had become painful.

Damian raised his eyes with difficulty toward the gigantic hole left in the destroyed wall.

And he saw Vulcan slowly entering the room.

Still that empty expression.

Still that monstrous aura.

Damian immediately understood: Vulcan was no longer holding back at all and fully intended to kill him.

Then, just before Vulcan could attack again,

two silhouettes suddenly shot through the destroyed corridor at high speed.

TAC.

TAC.

Two precise strikes hit Vulcan behind the neck.

The Dragon staggered back slightly.

Damian immediately looked up — it was the dynamic duo.

— "Noel?! Kana?!"

Kana quickly landed in front of Damian while Noel remained facing Vulcan.

His expression was extremely serious. Far more than usual for someone normally so weak.

Then he spoke calmly:

— "It's the effect of Almadraco."

Silence fell immediately.

Damian didn't understand—he had never heard of this magic.

Kana frowned slightly.

— "It's a spell that allows control over the minds of dragons," Kana explained.

Noel nodded slowly without taking his eyes off Vulcan.

— "Yes."

Then he continued:

— "During certain training sessions… Vulcan told me about Almadraco. He also taught me how to neutralize the spell if someone ever used it against the kingdom's dragons."

Damian remained stunned for a few seconds.

Then Kana turned toward him.

— "Wait… is that why you managed to stop the transformation affecting me earlier?"

— "Exactly."

Noel slightly raised his hand.

— "Almadraco directly controls the instinctive and spiritual flows of dragons. To cancel it… you must inject your own mana directly into the main control point."

His gaze grew heavier.

— "The forehead."

Then he stared at Vulcan.

— "But touching the forehead of a Dragon that has gone out of control… is practically suicide."

As if to confirm his words,

a gigantic wave of heat exploded around Vulcan.

The flames behind him surged violently up to the ceiling. The walls began to melt slightly under the temperature.

Then Vulcan slowly raised his head toward them.

And disappeared once again.

This time the blow struck the ground directly in front of them.

Kana and Noel immediately jumped to the sides while Damian retreated with difficulty. A huge explosion of fire destroyed half the room.

Then Vulcan reappeared in the middle of the crater.

Noel clenched his teeth.

— "He's getting more aggressive… the longer this goes on."

Kana activated her fire blades.

— "Then we'll have to hold him long enough for you to reach him."

Damian forced himself to stand despite the pain.

Then he cracked his still-functional right arm.

— "Yeah… because at this rate he's gonna end up killing us all."

The three of them took position together.

Facing them,

Vulcan was now radiating a monstrous pressure.

And yet…

deep in his empty eyes…

something could still be seen. As if a part of him was still trying to resist.

Meanwhile,

in the underground depths of the kingdom, Alexander was racing through the tunnels at monstrous speed.

The long black corridors flashed past him as he continuously dodged the attacks raining down from behind.

BOOOOM.

A massive lunar crescent tore through the tunnel, exploding the wall right behind Alexander.

Pieces of rock were pulverized everywhere, but Alexander didn't slow down.

His cape whipped violently behind him as he used every piece of debris, every wall, and every column to abruptly change direction—he loved these acrobatic maneuvers.

Then a new barrage of attacks arrived.

Hundreds of lunar blades appeared behind Vaeris.

They completely illuminated the underground with an unreal silver light.

Vaeris advanced calmly through the air. Even after more than a hundred years of disappearance, the Sacred Dragon of the Moon emitted an overwhelming presence. Her white hair floated behind her while her eyes shone with an almost supernatural light.

Then she sighed lightly.

— "Alexander…"

Her voice echoed through the tunnels.

— "Come back here."

But Alexander accelerated even more.

— "I don't have time for your bullshit!!"

He briefly turned his head while running.

— "Flora is in danger!!"

Vaeris smiled softly.

Then she simply raised a finger.

And immediately,

hundreds of lunar crescents launched all at once.

BOOOOOOOOOOM.

The corridors exploded under the power of the impacts.

Alexander dodged every attack with surgical precision. His movements remained fluid despite the destruction around him.

Finally, he stopped abruptly.

Turned mid-motion.

And extended his hand.

— "Age Seas."

CRAAAAAAAAACK.

The space in front of him seemed to be sliced apart. But not in a normal way. Vaeris's attack literally began to disassemble.

The lunar crescents fragmented piece by piece before completely disintegrating in the air. Then the spell continued its trajectory.

The wall behind.

The ceiling.

The ground.

Everything it touched lost its structure. Stone decomposed. Metal shattered. Even the air seemed to split into invisible fragments.

Vaeris immediately dodged to the side.

The attack traveled several hundred meters before vanishing.

Then a huge cloud of smoke suddenly filled the tunnel.

And when Vaeris looked again,

Alexander had disappeared.

A few seconds passed.

Then Vaeris sighed softly.

— "He really refuses to fight me…"

But despite that…

she was still smiling.

Back

in the armory room,

thick black smoke now completely covered the chamber.

The magical display cases were slowly corroding on contact with the strange substance. Even some ancient blades were losing their shine.

In the center of the room,

Alma lay on the floor.

Motionless.

Then a silhouette slowly approached her.

Caster.

His body continuously emitted this strange, living toxic smoke.

He looked at Alma for a few seconds.

Then tilted his head slightly.

— "Maybe I went a bit too hard…"

His voice was calm, as if speaking of a trivial detail.

Then he shrugged.

— "Well… no big deal."

He began walking toward her.

— "If she dies, I'll just find another one… even if it's annoying."

Then his gaze fell on the necklace Alma wore around her neck.

A magnificent and extremely precious magical jewel. Even in this darkness, it still shone faintly.

Caster smiled.

— "Nice necklace…"

Then he reached out to take it.

And immediately—

BAM.

A violent kick struck his face.

Caster was sent flying backward before sliding several meters.

Then, slowly,

Alma stood back up.

Perfectly conscious.

Caster remained surprised for a few seconds.

Then his smile widened.

— "Ah…"

— "So you were pretending from the very beginning… little one."

Alma calmly dusted off her clothes.

Then she replied:

— "As soon as your smoke started spreading through the room, I understood what it was."

She slightly raised her hand. A thin layer of water discreetly covered her skin.

— "Your toxins penetrate through breathing… but also through the pores of the skin… I know this magic. It's used in the village of Sel in my kingdom. The inhabitants have the ability to dematerialize their bodies into vapor… and attack."

Her gaze remained fixed on him.

— "So I blocked all entry points with my water magic."

Caster stayed silent for a few seconds.

Then he let out a light laugh.

— "Interesting… very interesting."

An enormous amount of smoke began pouring out of his body once again. The entire room grew even darker.

— "Honestly…"

He slowly cracked his neck.

— "I didn't think you'd be able to resist me."

Then he finally raised his eyes toward Alma.

His smile became more and more disturbing.

— "But now…"

The pressure in the room increased brutally.

— "I can finally let loose a little."
