And outside, with Priya and Sakshi, they were on Priya's table in the staff room, and Priya was checking some exam papers, while Sakshi was checking her phone while sipping juice loudly. Loud enough so she can annoy Priya.
" Why are you here? Don't you have classes?"
" Well, the lab is stolen, so it's not practical. Biology's teacher is pregnant, Dr Arya is missing and I really don't want to attend extra classes since they are boring."
" Then why don't you go home." Asked Priya.
" Which one, the one that got burnt." And she let out some fake tears.
" So bad all my homework and assignments got burnt as well." She let out a few fake tears for the show.
" Then why don't you go play with friends or some Netflix?"
" Friends? They are just kids, and for Netflix there is a superhero movie going on live, plus family drama who wants to watch this show anyway. There isn't a show that has a good ending." And Priya just rolled her eyes.
" If you hear that, arrange these mock exam papers according to numbers." And she pushed the bundle towards her, which she pushed back with disgust.
" Me nah! What do you think those father and son were gonna talk about?" And Priya replied casually.
" Something that doesn't concern both of us. It if does, he will not ask you to leave." And Sakshi agreed to that one at least.
" So, what do you think happened to Dr Arya that changed him so much?" she asked casually, not expecting her to know the answer. But to her surprise she did.
" It's not like you know him well anyways." This wasn't the answer, but it was something to continue the conversation.
" What do you mean?" asked sakshi curiously.
" He wasn't always like this, you know." And Sakshi asked to elaborate.
" He was like your father back then, egotistic, short temper and self-stricken, but he changed."
"Details?" She asked, wanting to hear more. And seeing her reaction, Priya also sighed. She put down her work and started to tell the story.
" You know he had a son right?" And Sakshi nodded.
" He was in my class back when I was also a student, and his name was Carl." And she looked at her.
" He was just like you, but worse."
" He has all the bad qualities of the second generation that he should have, and none of the good qualities that you'd expect from the second generation. His father was the best scientist in biology and chemistry back then, even Dr Mehra was worse then him. You can imagine the pressure and expectations on him. But be like a wind, didn't care about that. I don't know what happened, but I heard that father and son had a fight, and they separated. Soon there was news that he got ill with some terminal disease, and that moment Dr Arya changed. But it was not for good. He even lashed out on students back then, you might have felt his bad temper once or twice, but back then it was regular. Even the matter became so big that, board had to intervene in this."
" What then?" Sakshi asked.
" He died, he took a year's rest and he became what he is now. Calm and humorous."
" Ok! But what does this have to do with the current situation?"
" When his research came to no end, he decided to build one for himself, and set a goal to cure all the diseases in the world, without telling anyone. And that year, he and Dr Mehra discovered the Meta-gene. That got Dr Mehra his Nobel Prize. You can understand the importance of this by the award he got. But his results weren't over, and he denied taking the prize, and put his efforts on the Meta-gene. Your father left the research midway, and he was alone focusing everything on these illusory roads. And this time, Dr Mehra, your father came to prominence, and things changed again. Dr Arya's focus shifted to compete with Dr Mehra, and lost in every turn, which consumed his spirit, and he lost his luster, and his research on Meta-gene stagnated"
" And?" Sakshi asked wanting to know the reason more than the story. And Priya, seeing her face, replied.
" He changed his character several times in these years, which is normal. And you need to know that the human heart and mind is ever changing. You can predict the movement of stars, but not the human heart. And now can you tell me, what he gonna do after getting these God-like powers and complexes?"
" Create a cure for all?" she answered not knowing if it's correct.
" Maybe, or maybe not, who knows." And then she asked him a question.
" Do you think Einstein and Newton think alike?" And she was a little confused.
" Aren't they both the same?" And she was hit on the head.
" How did you even enter this college? They are centuries apart."
" That hurt," said Sakshi.
" Forget about this. Forget this question was ever asked in this college or you even answered this, you and I never had this conversation." And she tried to wipe this memory out of his brain.
" Now listen. Who will have a radical change in personality if given supernatural power like Krish and Dr Arya. A kid or a mature man."
" A kid I guess, he hasn't grown up yet."
" Correct, but not much." And Sakshi looked a little puzzled.
" Now, who will cause a radical change in society if given supernatural power, a hundred kids or a hundred men."
" Can toi cut corners and say the topic I don't like to you scientists going round and round to tell that the moon is round." And Priya controlled herself to not tear her down now.
" Controll, control, Priya, she is a child, just wait two years." She said to herself.
" Ok now see. A kid who hasn't grown up yet got superpower, he'll be happy, surprised and a little excited about his power. He'll tell friends or family seeing the situation, and probably a test is around, it'll be a headache for the world, but not much, it's a child. But if a grown man suddenly gains super power, it's a different fact. First we can assume that as a man he knows how the world works or has got beaten by society. And if he got the power, he would be doubtful, suspicious, a little wary and then excited. He will keep it secret till someone finds it out, he won't tell his friends or family thinking they might get implicated, he definitely won't tell the government, no matter which country he is from. And his first thought will definitely not be how to be a superhero or save people. If he is a good guy, then good, but what if he is a bad guy. Things can get interesting."
" Your brother and father both have their power from their childhood, they know what their power is, and have gone through a faze called adaptation, that's necessary in this regard and their worldview is according to their super power."
" Just look at Dr Arya and his stunts."
" You'll understand. He is high on his powers right now. You can call this state invincible. Sooner or later he'll get his reality check."
And with Krishna and Rohit, Krishna was eating his breakfast, and Rohit was near the blackboard, doing some chemistry problems, when he asked.
" Why didn't you use your power when Arya beat you up?" And Krishna after swallowing the answer.
" I don't want to hurt him?" And Rohit.
" Have you even punched someone?" asked Rohit, not surprised by his answer.
" No."
" Not even once, in trying or testing?" And Krishna replied after a while.
" I once punched out a lake." And Rohit's pen slips a bit, making a line.
" How big." Rohit asked.
" The one In the village." And this time Rohit was a little serious and curious.
" That formed when an earthquake happened."
" Yeah!" And he went really close to him and asked in a serious tone.
" Did you use your full power?" and seeing his serious face, Krishna was a little confused.
" Why?"
" Answer me this. Did you use your full powers or not?" And Krishna, understanding this, replied in negative. And Rohit looked at him like he looked at a monster.
" Do you have any idea how much force it will require to create a lake the size of that or an earthquake of that magnitude?" And Krishna shook his head.
" It's more than 64 million tons of force, equivalent to a 15 ton TNT going off at the same time. Promise me, promise me no matter what. You'll never ever use your power to that extent, promise me."
" What if it's a life of death situation?" And Rohit became silent, and after a while he replied.
" Then make sure it's worth it."
And with Dr Arya, he has built a lab under the school, by using his power, and he was looking at the report of his body. And he wasn't in a good mood, so he took a green serum, drank it in one go, and looked at the report again.
" Well let's just say, God has to suffer a little when he takes on mortal form. And this mortal body of mine couldn't handle the God in me." And with a thought and a wave, a glass cylinder rose from the ground, and he looked at the blue solution inside.
" Plans need to be put on hold for sometime. First, I need to become a God."
" Plan A- Upgrade the moral body." And he gets inside the glass cylinder. And before it can close be muters.
" Plane B abandons the mortal body ." And he closed his eyes.
