Just then, with the sound of calm footsteps, Nick looked up and saw his superior and old friend, former Director Alexander Pierce, walking toward him with a serious expression, handing him a file.
"What's this?" Nick picked up the file and saw the title: [Sentinel Robot Mass Production Plan].
"I thought this plan was abandoned after Howard's death?" Nick Fury said in surprise, noticing that Pierce and another person named Reed were also listed on the file.
"No, this plan has never been abandoned. It has always been progressing according to Mr. Howard's wishes. I apologize for keeping it from you," Pierce said with a look of guilt.
"According to Mr. Howard, this plan would remain top secret unless a major crisis occurred. And now, a major crisis has arrived. There are definitely traitors within S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Bai Ye?" Nick Fury didn't expect it to be Bai Ye calling: "We just met yesterday, and now there are rumors everywhere online that you're a Mutant, the public opinion isn't good for you."
"That's not the point." Bai Ye said calmly: "You should be the one with the headache right now. The nuclear missile launched towards Canada earlier, it shouldn't have been a mistake, right?"
"So it was you." Nick Fury finally confirmed that the one who moved from New York to Canada at Mach 4 was Bai Ye.
"What do you want me to do?" Nick Fury asked: "Cover it up for you?"
"No, no, no, the one with the problem now isn't me, it's you." Bai Ye said playfully: "Do you want to know who ordered the launch of the nuclear missile?"
"You know?"
"Of course." Bai Ye said, not wanting to let things go: "But before I tell you, I need to make sure there's no one around you and that the phone isn't being tapped."
Nick Fury glanced around. His movements caught Alexander Pierce's attention, and the two men, unaware of the situation, nodded at each other.
"Go ahead, speak freely. No one's listening," Nick Fury said, but the next second, a voice ingrained in his very being echoed.
"Hail HYDRA!"
Nick Fury instinctively tightened his grip on the phone. "That's impossible. HYDRA is extinct."
"Is it? I found some interesting things at Stryker's base. If you don't believe me, why don't you ask your superior, Pierce? He's a loyal HYDRA operative."
Nick Fury instinctively looked toward Pierce in the distance. The man looked back at Nick Fury, confused by his frequent glances, and offered a polite smile.
It all connects! Everything connects! A flash of insight seemed to strike Nick Fury. A series of clues were linked together, and if that was the case, then everything made sense.
"You want to know why I attacked this base? Because Stryker kidnapped Professor X and copied a Cerebro, which can kill all the Mutants in the world within minutes."
"You think, since he can kill Mutants, can he kill humans too?" Bai Ye smiled slightly. "Stryker has a murky relationship with HYDRA. What will happen when this machine falls into HYDRA's hands?"
"S.H.I.E.L.D. is deeply infiltrated by HYDRA. You wouldn't want me to expose their existence right now, would you?"
"Alright, what do you need me to do?" Nick Fury conceded.
"It's not about what I want. If I hadn't stepped in to save Professor X from Stryker, who knows what would have happened now."
Bai Ye chuckled, "I should get some recognition for being a hero, right? Handle the formalities with the human government."
"I can only do my best. Your mutant identity is inherently politically sensitive. All I can do is suppress the matter of Stryker."
"Let's see your sincerity, or else if I, Bai, get displeased, I might just have to bloodbath New York," Bai Ye said calmly, then gently hung up the phone.
Hearing the dial tone, Nick Fury fell into deep thought. At this moment, Alexander Pierce, seeing the call had ended, walked over. "What were you talking about? You seemed very anxious."
