Inside the Pegasus Base, the energy of the Tesseract continued to rise, showing no signs of stopping.
Four hours later, the terrifying fluctuations finally reached an extreme.
A massive amount of energy gathered around the blue Cosmic Cube, slowly rotating and condensing.
When the energy reached its peak, a blue beam shot out from within the Cube, slamming into the energy convergence device twenty meters away and tearing open a spatial barrier.
As a figure emerged from within, the barrier vanished without a trace.
Seeing the figure walk out, everyone present could immediately tell—this thing was definitely not human.
A tall, slender frame, elegant bearing, tree-bark-like skin, pale hair… everything about it made it clear it was far removed from humanity.
"That's… Ebony Maw? Not Thanos?"Watching via surveillance, Bai Ye's eyes flickered with a hint of disappointment.

"How do we handle him? Just kill him?" Stark asked.
"No, don't kill him yet. His goal is to get the Space Stone, then open a portal to bring the Chitauri from the other side of the galaxy to invade Earth—and then hand the Infinity Stone over to his master, Thanos."
"In that case, we might as well help him complete his mission."Bai Ye grinned.If Thanos wouldn't come here, then he could just go find Thanos himself.
With Earth's current lineup—mutants, superhumans who cultivated internal energy, plus Pym-particle black technology—even without his involvement, they might actually be able to beat the movie version of Thanos.
He believed that once Thanos arrived on Earth, he'd realize just how ridiculously strong these Earthlings were.
Stark sounded annoyed. "So you're saying we're letting this bamboo-worm do whatever he wants right under our noses? We clearly have the power to stop him, but we're deliberately letting him go?"
"Of course not. Just capture him and have Professor X mentally control him to work for us. Why make it complicated?"
"The rest is up to you all. When the portal opens, notify me."With that, Bai Ye turned around and continued his research with Reed, hoping to develop the superpower-reversal machine as soon as possible.
Hearing Bai Ye's instructions, Kingpin and the others grinned viciously."That guy has the Mind Stone. Professor X can't directly control him. Who's going first?"
"No need to hold back. Just send your Demon Squad people. This is your specialty," Stark said to Kingpin.
At the scene, several on-site researchers saw someone emerge from the spatial rift and immediately tried to resist.
Ebony Maw simply waved his hand gracefully. The steel ground beneath their feet shattered instantly. Dirt and debris rose into the air, wrapping tightly around them before being dragged in front of him.
He lightly tapped their chests with the Mind Stone-embedded scepter, and their eyes immediately darkened—they were all placed under mind control.
Nothing but a group of weak mortals, Ebony Maw thought with disdain.
Moments later, under his control, the researchers began shouting:
"Master, run! Don't come back!"
Ebony Maw: "???"
"What do you mean?" he asked, baffled at their words and behavior.
"You've never stayed on Earth, so you don't understand," one researcher said solemnly. "The entire Earth is under someone's rule now."
Another chimed in, "He has limitless strength, fast as lightning."
"He is cruel and merciless—kills without blinking!"
"His martial arts are unmatched—no one can stand against him!"
As each person continued listing "titles," Ebony Maw was dumbfounded.Why were they speaking in rehearsed lines?
"He is our supreme emperor!"Another voice echoed from afar.
Ebony Maw turned around and saw more than a dozen people with different appearances and clothing, hands in their pockets, walking toward him in a neat line.
"Who are they supposed to be?" he asked one of the mind-controlled researchers.
"Those are the Mayor of New York, the Sheriff of Washington, the Governor of Alaska…" the researcher explained. "Though I heard that before they were recruited, none of them were good people."
"Run, Master. Even if you defeat these dozen, the Superhero Law-Enforcement Squad will come next, then the Mutant Alliance—endless trouble."
"Even if you defeat everyone, once Bai Ye notices what's happening and takes action, you're dead."The researcher was crying as he tried to warn him, desperate not to see his "master" die here.
Ebony Maw impatiently tossed the researchers aside.What nonsense. Asgardians had already fled; what danger could this tiny Earth possibly pose?
Not far away, the members of the Demon Squad approached and surrounded him.
One controlled researcher tried to move forward to stop them, but Bullseye kicked him mercilessly, sending him flying with blood spraying from his mouth.
Pointing at Ebony Maw, Bullseye said coldly, "Trying to run? Where exactly do you think you can go?"
"Hmph. Arrogant Earthlings," Ebony Maw sneered.The next moment, the ground trembled and steel spikes shot upward in all directions—yet everyone dodged them with ease.
"Lightning Cyclone Chop!"Tombstone snorted. Golden energy gathered in his left hand as he struck down with a bladed palm.
Seeing the air split and knowing that attack could slice through metal like butter, Ebony Maw hastily raised a steel wall in front of him—only to hear a chilling voice behind him:
"Thunder Serpent Drill!"
Ebony Maw felt a lightning bolt pierce through him. He coughed blood as he flew, his back charred black.
He wasn't even given a moment to breathe. Bullseye's inner-energy-infused projectiles shot toward his heart, forcing him to roll aside in a panic.
Everyone present had trained under Bai Ye's Everyone Can Cultivate version 3.0, and all possessed deep internal energy.
A one-on-one might be tricky.But one against more than ten?
Within mere moments, Ebony Maw was severely injured, barely defending himself, on the brink of death.
Seeing an opening, Ebony Maw tried to take Pindu hostage, holding him in front with steel restraints.
"Don't move, or I'll kill him!"
"Lightning Thunder Fist!"
No one paid attention to his threat.
The moment Ebony Maw paused, Victor didn't hesitate at all. Lightning exploded around his fists as he punched straight through Pindu's abdomen, then smashed Ebony Maw away and knocked him unconscious.
As Ebony Maw's consciousness faded, he saw Victor step over Pindu's body with a cold smirk and say:
"You're holding him—why does that mean we shouldn't attack?"
