Chapter 184 - Differences Between Two Universes

In Stark Tower, New York, Ebony Maw was trying to dissuade his new master.

After getting to know Bai Ye for so many days, he understood what kind of person he was. Just like the few scientists he'd controlled before, he began to advise him.

Meanwhile, looking at the man in front of him, who looked exactly like himself, the Stark from the White House couldn't help but feel a fondness for talent, so he spoke a few more words.

Of course, if this guy was truly stubborn, then what awaited him was only the hell of the nine familial exterminations.

Future Stark looked at Ebony Maw, then at the holographic projection.

After a fierce struggle, and considering that his personality in this universe shouldn't be too bad, he finally put down the two items in his hands.

"Very good. Now, can you tell me the reason you stole the gems?" Stark said with a smile.

"To put it simply, I'm you from a parallel future. I need to travel through different timelines to collect the six Infinity Stones to save half of our universe's life." Future Stark sighed, completely dumbfounding Stark.

"You're saying you're me from the future?" Stark sized up the man in front of him, disbelieving. "If you're still joking, I'm going to have to get serious."

"I'm not lying. I am you, ten years from now," Future Stark said seriously.

"Impossible. You say you came back ten years later to get the Infinity Stones to save the universe. I ask you, why didn't Bai Ye come himself?"

Stark shook his head in denial. "The situation is so dire that you have to risk it. This shows that something must have happened to Bai Ye. The severity of this situation is definitely not something the Infinity Stones alone can solve. Do you think my logic is right?"

"You're right. If Bai Ye were here, none of this would have happened because there is no Bai Ye in the universe I come from. Your universe is the abnormal one."

"What Bai Ye, Magneto, Professor X, Vampires… we don't have any of those in our universe."

The more Future Stark spoke, the more aggrieved he felt, deeply envious of this version of himself, who got to live a life of luxury and power as a planetary governor, while he had to suffer and take the lead in everything. "Friday, show him the future of our universe."

"Sir, my system has been breached," Jarvis's voice echoed in Stark's ear.

What! Stark was shocked. Then, images flooded his vision, all from the alternate timeline.

"You really are me," Stark said, truly confused this time. "Don't move. I'll be there in thirty minutes."

"Forget it. After the Mark III, your mobility hasn't exactly improved. It would take too long," Future Stark replied. "You're at the White House, right? I'll come to you."

With that, Future Stark, clad in his armor, blasted off into the sky, avoiding the Infinity Stones in the building, and departed the building towards the White House in Washington.

This display of power convinced Stark about seventy to eighty percent, and his mental state began to unravel.

Meanwhile, near the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York, Hulk and Ant-Man quietly arrived on the rooftop, standing before the door, ready to enter.

"You've come to the wrong time. If you're looking for Doctor Strange, he, like the other citizens, has evacuated New York," the Ancient One suddenly spoke, offering a reminder.

Since Bai Ye's widespread distribution of cultivation techniques, the medical field had steadily declined. Surgical procedures, once considered essential, could now be bypassed through internal cultivation for recovery. People only went to hospitals in the event of major accidents.

Therefore, Doctor Strange was no longer practicing medicine in this universe. Instead, he had transferred all his assets and started investing in the stock market. After several months of operating with no experience, he had lost everything, becoming even worse off than in his original timeline. The Ancient One was already preparing to take in this refugee.

"Who are you?" The group looked at the bald woman in the yellow robe with confusion, immediately noticing the Eye of Agamotto on her chest.

"You can call me the Ancient One," she said, gently taking out the Time Stone and handing it over. "Here, take it."

So casually? All three were incredulous, unable to believe they could obtain the Time Stone without even knowing who the person in front of them was. Was security in this world really this lax?

The Ancient One just smiled mysteriously without explanation.

Inside the White House, Future Stark looked at himself, who was clad in a nanotech suit and descended from the sky. "Now, tell me exactly what happened?"

"Simply put, a guy named Thanos gathered the six Infinity Stones and randomly eliminated half the universe's population."

"This also includes half of Earth's population, including Hawkeye's family," Future Stark began, attempting to tug at his heartstrings.

"Thanos again?" Stark hadn't expected it to be related to Thanos. He then asked, puzzled, "Hawkeye? Who's that?"

"You don't know Hawkeye? What about S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Future Stark was shocked. Time was short, and he only had a general understanding of this universe's trajectory.

"They were wiped out after colluding with HYDRA and rebelling. They couldn't even find the body of their leader, Nick Fury," Stark said, dropping some pretty wild news.

"You're saying S.H.I.E.L.D. colluded with HYDRA? That's impossible!" Future Stark couldn't believe it; this universe's history was seriously messed up. "What about the Hulk and Captain America?"

"The Hulk was obviously wiped out along with S.H.I.E.L.D., but… is Captain America even still alive?"

This time, Future Stark fell silent. He suspected that his own comfortable life in this universe was bought at the cost of the other superheroes' luck.

After briefly learning what had happened in the neighboring universe from his future self, Stark leaned against the railing, lost in thought. He hadn't expected the situation to be so dire without Bai Ye in the future.

At the same time, he was secretly relieved that he hadn't taken this matter too seriously. Otherwise, if Bai Ye found out, the remaining half of the people in the other universe might all be gone.

"You understand the situation. Without the Infinity Stones, the other half of the lives in my universe can't come back. Although our experiences are different, we have the same personality. You'll help me, right?"

"This is too big. I'll ask Bai Ye," Stark hesitated before saying.

"What!" Future Stark was shocked.

He had already said so much, and the other party still wanted to report it to Bai Ye? Was he really trying to push him into a dead end?

"Don't get excited. Different goals lead to different results, naturally."

Stark smiled slightly, "It's just borrowing an Infinity Stone. I'll just mention it to him."

With that, Stark raised his hand and @ Deep Blue in the group.
