Chapter 26 - HAHA LET’S SEE

TOTAL COINS: 120

After two months of grinding, I finally had a decent stash. One hundred and twenty coins. It wasn't easy—between paperwork, system tasks, and swallowing my pride every single day, I'd managed to collect them bit by bit.

Well… to be precise, I'd earned more than that. Maybe around one hundred and fifty. But I'd already spent a chunk—fixing debts, tuning up my body, sharpening what the system had given me. Now I was left with 120, and it was time to use them properly.

The holographic blue panel hovered in front of me like a cold, clinical doctor ready to cut me open.

[BODY CUSTOMIZATION MENU OPEN]

Hair: 2 coins

Face: 2 coins

Chest & Abs: 2 coins

Shoulders: 1 coin

Back Muscles: 1 coin

Genitals: 2 coins

I stared at the options. A part of me hesitated. But another part—the louder, hungrier part—smirked and pressed confirm.

[DEDUCTING 10 COINS. STARTING FULL BODY CUSTOMIZATION.]

The moment I hit start, a wave of heat rolled over my body. It wasn't pain this time—it was transformation, raw and alive.

First, my scalp tingled. It was as if thousands of tiny threads were being pulled from inside my skull, weaving themselves longer, denser, richer. My hair thickened, the strands strong and glossy. When I brushed a hand over it, it felt heavier, like I'd been given a mane meant for a better version of myself.

Then my face burned—not in agony, but in pressure. My jawline sharpened, carving itself like a sculptor chiseling stone. The skin along my cheeks tightened, smooth and clean, no trace of blemish. My nose subtly adjusted, straighter, more defined. When the sensation faded, I caught my reflection on the dark monitor screen in my room and barely recognized myself. Handsome. No… intimidatingly so.

[UPGRADE SUCCESSFUL: FACIAL STRUCTURE +20% SYMMETRY. JAWLINE DEFINED. HAIR QUALITY: ENHANCED.]

My chest and stomach clenched next. Muscles rippled under the skin, fibers twisting like cords being pulled taut. The faint six-pack I'd been carving through sweat sharpened into clean-cut abs, every ridge visible. My pecs thickened, firm, the kind of chest that filled out a shirt without trying. When I flexed, I could feel power ripple from sternum to stomach.

My shoulders followed—the system's precision terrifying. The bones felt like they were expanding slightly, joints widening, muscle fibers layering over them. My frame broadened, giving me a posture that screamed presence. No longer narrow, no longer forgettable.

My back tightened afterward, as though invisible fingers were kneading it. Lats stretched wider, giving me the silhouette of a man who trained every day, wings spreading behind me. The tension melted into strength.

And finally—there. A pulse of heat at my groin, sudden, primal. My breath hitched. The system didn't play around. Blood surged, nerves rewired, flesh expanded. I glanced down, blinking in disbelief as the stats blinked into view.

[GENITAL UPGRADE SUCCESSFUL: 8 INCHES (ERECT). ENHANCED ENDURANCE. SYSTEM GRADE: ABOVE AVERAGE.]

I staggered back, gripping the desk. The sensations faded, leaving behind only a new heaviness, a new density. My body wasn't just mine anymore—it was engineered, sculpted.

I stood there, chest heaving, sweat dripping down my temple.

"This… this is insane," I muttered, staring at the reflection of the stranger I'd become.

(LOOK AT THIS VANITY PROJECT. YOU'RE BASICALLY A CUSTOM-DOLL NOW, BITCH.)

I ignored the voice for once. Because for the first time in both my lives, when I looked in the mirror—I didn't hate what I saw.

This physique was even better then my last life

Thudddddd

My whole body ached like I'd been run through a grinder. Every muscle, every joint—hurting. I lay on the futon and stared at the ceiling until the pain calmed into a low hum. The mattress creaked beneath me; the room smelled faintly of laundry detergent and the late-night ramen I'd bought earlier. I blinked at the small wall calendar and my breath hitched.

Today was the day before Reiko would leave in my old life.

A dry laugh escaped me. "Alright then," I whispered to the empty room. "Let's see what happens now."

I pushed myself up, feeling the iron burn in my arms, and shuffled to the mirror. The stranger looking back wasn't a joke anymore. The jawline was sharp, shoulders wider, abs still visible even with the light shirt on. My hair sat heavier and thicker than it had days ago. The system hadn't lied. I looked different—no, I looked dangerous in a small, controlled way.

"How do I explain this?" I muttered, running my hand over my chest. It didn't matter, not yet. It had never mattered. I had a plan. I had coins.

I opened the system again. The blue glow hummed to life, a cold, clinical light in the dim room. The stats menu blinked up at me like an invitation and a judgement.

Coins: 110

My fingers hovered. Intelligence. Speed. Strength. The choices felt heavy, meaningful. If I wanted to change the future, I couldn't just look good — I had to be smarter, faster, stronger. I tapped "Intelligence" and set it to +3 coins. The system sniped in my ear, as usual, but I ignored the tone and confirmed. Then I added +2 to Speed. Finally, I poured +5 coins into Strength. Ten coins gone, ten decisions made.

(OH PLEASE, LOOK AT YOU TRYING TO BE SMART. WONDERFUL.)

"Shut up," I told the voice. Inside, my heart was a small drum. Outside, the city hummed on.

Now for the real move. I didn't need more looks — I needed money. I moved to the conversion tab. The numbers rolled, polite and mechanical. I typed in the amount: 50 coins. My fingers trembled a little as I hit confirm.

A soft digital chime answered, and the system announced the transfer.

Transaction complete. ¥750,000 credited.

My phone buzzed with the bank notification. I opened the app and stared until the numbers stopped spinning. Seven hundred fifty thousand yen. Real, cold, heavy money sitting in my account like a loaded promise.

I sank back on the bed, counting the facts in my head. Coins left: 50. Strength higher, head clearer, speed sharper. Money in the bank: ¥750,000. Reiko leaving tomorrow in the old life—now a thin slice of time I could still touch.
