Chapter 99 - The Raiding Zombie Hero

The night sky over East Capital's New Kabukicho was suddenly torn open by an explosion, and the three-story building of the 'Paradise Hot Spring' club twisted and collapsed in flames, its steel skeleton piercing the sky like the ribs of a dying giant.

Pedestrians around scattered, not expecting the famous club in New Kabukicho to suddenly catch fire, and they all sought shelter.

Fire trucks were also rushing to the scene. Logan stood in the alley opposite the club, smoking a cigar, a cold sneer revealing his canines. He pressed his earpiece, "Melina, the Dragon Claw Squad has been eliminated. Send the next target."

"Sending it to your tactical watch now." Melina's voice came through the earpiece, but her voice sounded a bit off, "Logan, are you sure the Dragon Claw Squad was completely eliminated?"

"Of course, I smashed all their heads. What? Are there still some hiding?" Logan was surprised by Melina's question. He had killed all the targets. Besides the stench of corpses and blood, there was no other smell on site.

He suddenly remembered something. Stench of corpses? Those zombies were also corpses. No, zombies couldn't withstand the special incendiary bombs. Then what was it...?

Before Logan could figure out what was going on, Melina's voice rang out urgently in his earpiece: "Be careful! There's a huge energy reading under the building!"

"Roar~~~!!!!"

A grey-green figure over three meters tall flew out of the flames and then slammed heavily into the crowd, its Impact directly pulverizing the surrounding civilians into mud. A giant hand reached out from the smoke and dust, grabbing a middle-aged bald man who had luckily not been shattered by the shockwave. A series of screams and the sound of bones being crunched echoed from within the smoke and dust.

As the smoke and dust dissipated, the streets of New Kabukicho fell into an eerie silence. Logan's cigar slipped from the corner of his mouth, sparks sputtering on the asphalt.

His pupils trembled continuously—the grey-green giant that had leaped from the burning building had rotting patches all over its skin, shredded flesh hanging from the exposed bone of its left arm, its mouth full of fresh blood and minced meat, and in its golden eyeballs, only a tiny pupil could be seen, filled with hungry desire and brutal killing intent.

—Zombie Hulk

"Crunch!" As the Zombie Hulk bit through the middle-aged man's skull, black-red blood splattered five meters from its mouth. It suddenly turned its head, its rotting nostrils twitching, as if it had caught a more enticing scent—Logan at the alley entrance.

"Damn it!" Logan instantly extended his Adamantium claws, landed on all fours, and charged at the Zombie Hulk like a Beast.

"Melina! There's a Hulk here! The Hulk is infected with the zombie virus!"

"Impossible! Banner is in Wakanda! He's researching the zombie virus serum with Su Rui!" Melina responded loudly.

"Roar!!!!" The Zombie Hulk saw Logan charging at him and immediately threw a punch.

Logan flexibly dodged to the Zombie Hulk's side, then pounced onto the Zombie Hulk's back, continuously inflicting damage on the Zombie Hulk's body.

The Zombie Hulk roared in pain, flailing its limbs but unable to catch Logan on its back. Blood vessels appeared around its golden eyeballs. It roared again, suddenly leaped up, and then slammed down hard on its back.

Logan, on the Zombie Hulk's back, had no idea he had become a human cushion. The Zombie Hulk's weight and Impact created a crater in the ground, and his alloy claws also dislodged from the Zombie Hulk's body.

The Zombie Hulk got up from the ground, turned around, and kicked Logan hard in the chest and abdomen. Logan, like a rag doll, crashed into the pachinko parlor at the street corner, and the tempered glass curtain wall behind him shattered with a crash.

Logan spat out a mouthful of blood under his face mask. A large area of purple light illuminated on his Vibranium battle suit, which Su Rui had specially designed for 'kinetic absorption.' But this kick from the Zombie Hulk seemed to have exceeded the absorption limit, causing Logan internal injuries even with the Vibranium protection.

"Damn it! Melina, this Zombie Hulk's strength is too much for even my Vibranium battle suit!" Logan cursed into his earpiece.

At this moment, the Zombie Hulk roared at Logan again, charging towards him like a cannonball fired from its barrel.

"Melina! I'm going to use the Saint Cloth!" Logan quickly scrambled to his feet, crossing his arms, intending to dodge the Zombie Hulk's pounce.

"Hold on for 20 seconds! The Saint Cloth will be deployed immediately!" Melina responded loudly.

"20 seconds? Bang!" Before Logan could curse, the Zombie Hulk punched him. The narrow space of the pachinko parlor didn't allow Logan to dodge, and he was hit by the Zombie Hulk again, slamming into the ground.

The Zombie Hulk raised its fists and brought them down, each punch causing the ground to collapse further. Concrete debris mixed with the tempered glass of the pachinko parlor turned to dust in the Impact wave.

The pachinko parlor didn't last long and collapsed with a roar, but the Zombie Hulk's roars continued to echo from within the collapsed ruins.

After an unknown amount of time, the Zombie Hulk's roars quietly ceased. As the smoke and dust cleared, the Zombie Hulk lifted Logan high by the neck. Logan's limbs hung limply, and his battle suit was glowing entirely purple.

The Zombie Hulk opened its large mouth, grabbed Logan by the shoulders with both hands, and began to force Logan's head into its mouth.

"Crunch!"

The Zombie Hulk's fangs were only three inches from Logan's head. Foul-smelling saliva dripped onto the Vibranium faceplate. Logan could hear his bones groaning under the immense pressure, and the battle suit's energy alarm shrieked—but he was smiling.

"Your mouth... it really stinks, you bastard!"

Just as the Zombie Hulk was about to bite down—

"Boom!!!"

A golden meteor tore through the night sky, slamming heavily into the ruins behind Logan. The Impact wave sent debris flying. In the dust, a golden box carved with the Capricorn constellation stood majestically. Ancient runes on its surface lit up one by one, as if a sleeping giant Beast was awakening.

Under Logan's face mask, his canines curled into a ferocious arc.

"My turn."

He suddenly raised his hand, fingers splayed, towards the golden Saint Cloth box—

The Zombie Hulk's golden pupils suddenly constricted. It instinctively released Logan and leaped backward, but it was already too late—

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

The box lid exploded open, and golden streams of light flew out of the box. The clang of metal colliding echoed through the street as parts of the golden Saint Cloth rapidly assembled onto Logan: leg guards clicked into place, arm guards interlocked, the chest plate closed, and finally, the pair of curved, scythe-like Capricorn golden horns, shimmering with golden light in the ruins.

The Zombie Hulk snarled, stepping back half a step, its rotting muscles instinctively tensing—it felt threatened.

"Now..." Logan twisted his neck, his joints making crisp, metallic sounds, "It's time to settle the score."

"Swish—!"

A golden afterimage flashed, and Logan's speed increased tenfold! The Zombie Hulk didn't even have time to raise its hand before a cross-shaped golden light burst open on its chest, splattering rotten flesh and black blood!

"Roar!!!"

The Zombie Hulk howled in pain and swung its fist in retaliation, but Logan had already flashed behind it, his golden blade stabbing into its spine like lightning!

"Crunch!"

Amidst the sound of bones shattering, Logan kicked the Zombie Hulk's back, using the force to leap into the air, crossing his claws—

"Holy Sword! Slash!"

"Swish!"

The golden claw blades tore through the air, and two crossed golden arcs of light descended like divine punishment! The Zombie Hulk's arms were severed at the shoulders, and black blood shot up like a fountain!

"Boom!!!"

The armless Zombie Hulk stumbled to its knees, but its golden eyes suddenly glowed with an eerie red light. The flesh at its severed limbs wriggled wildly, possessing regenerative abilities!

"Tsk, it can even recover?" Logan snorted coldly, his eyes narrowing under the golden horned helmet, "Then I'll chop you into dust!"

He suddenly crouched down, and golden light flared on his claws, transforming into two dazzling golden Holy Swords.

"Holy Sword! Shatter!"

Logan's figure instantly transformed into a golden lightning bolt, moving at high speed around the Zombie Hulk. Each flash was accompanied by a fierce golden light slash.

"Swish! Swish! Swish!"

Golden light poured down like a storm. Countless fine golden lines appeared on the Zombie Hulk's body, as if it had been cut by countless Holy Swords. Its roar abruptly stopped, and it became rigid in place, the red light in its golden eyes gradually extinguishing.

Logan's figure finally stopped, standing behind the Zombie Hulk, the light of the golden Saint Cloth slowly receding. He shook his hands, his alloy claws retracting into his hands, and without turning his head, said:

"Good night, big guy."

Before he finished speaking—

"Boom—!!!"

The Zombie Hulk's body suddenly disintegrated into countless fragments. Even its blood was completely burned by the Saint Cloth's energy, not a single drop spilled.

The aftershocks of those golden slashes had not yet dissipated. The surfaces of the buildings around New Kabukicho also showed dense golden lines.

"Crack! Crack! Crack!"

The buildings on the entire street, as if cut by an invisible sharp blade, collapsed with a roar, turning into countless neat fragments. Smoke and dust rose into the sky, but Logan pulled out a cigar from somewhere and lit it amidst the dust.

Melina's voice came through the communicator: "Logan, is it resolved?"

Logan looked down at the surrounding ruins, and he grinned:

"Heh, of course."

"Rumble—!!!"

The Capital Mansion exploded with earth-shattering force, and the surrounding buildings trembled and collapsed. A figure in a yellow-black tight battle suit, whose helmet's visor was broken, revealing golden eyes, roared at Eric, who flew out of the mansion, and Psylocke, who stood on a steel bar.

—Zombie Wasp.

"No one told us there was a giant zombie in the mansion," Psylocke sneered.

Eric crossed his arms, looking at the 30-meter-tall Zombie Wasp. "Stop talking nonsense. We can't let her die here. Her body is too large, and the infected blood will infect everyone in the city."

"Do you have a plan?" Psylocke looked at Eric.

"Roar—!!!"

The Zombie Wasp's roar interrupted Psylocke's question, shattering glass within a hundred-meter radius. Her body struggled in the ruins of the mansion, trying to step out of the debris.

Eric hovered in the air, slowly raising his hands, his voice icy:

"This city is not your graveyard."

"Clang—!"

The metal of the entire block instantly responded to Magneto's call. Broken steel bars shot out of the ground like giant pythons, the sheet metal of abandoned vehicles twisted and deformed, and even the metal layers of underground pipes were violently torn open—countless steel torrents converged into dozens of chains, wrapping around the Wasp layer by layer!

Psylocke's purple energy sword shimmered in her hand. She raised an eyebrow and looked at Eric in the air: "You wouldn't be thinking..."

Before she finished speaking, Eric suddenly clenched his fist!

"Crunch!"

The steel cocoon suddenly contracted, and the Wasp's body emitted a bone-jarring cracking sound. Black-green pus and blood splattered from the cracks, but they were precisely intercepted by the metal plates controlled by Eric the moment they touched the air—every drop was sealed in a floating iron box.

"Ascend."

As Eric's finger pointed skyward, the steel cocoon binding the Wasp began to ascend rapidly. 300 meters... 500 meters... 1000 meters! As clouds rolled beneath their feet.

Eric's fist suddenly tightened, and the steel cocoon instantly collapsed inward!

"Screech—"

The piercing shriek of twisting metal tore through the clouds. The steel contracted wildly like a giant python strangling its prey. The Wasp's rotting body began to disintegrate under the absolute pressure, and black-green pus and blood splattered from the cracks, but they were precisely intercepted by the metal plates controlled by Eric the moment they touched the air.

"Roar..."

The Wasp's roar became weaker and weaker, her 30-meter-tall body forcibly compressed to less than ten meters. Golden light flickered in her eyes, and her body twisted wildly, trying to break free from the steel cage—but it was all in vain.

Eric's eyes were cold. A silver metal sphere suddenly flew out of his waist pouch, transforming into a stream of light and drilling into the cracks of the steel cocoon.

"Furnace activated."

He whispered, and suddenly clenched his five fingers!

"Boom—!!!"

Blinding white light erupted inside the steel cocoon, and scorching flames churned within the steel. The Wasp's body twisted and carbonized in the high temperature, finally turning into ash.

The steel cocoon began to glow red, and lava-like cracks appeared on its surface. Eric's arm trembled slightly, but his fist remained tightly clenched. Until—even the steel began to show signs of melting.

Eric gazed at the gradually melting metal cocoon, his brow furrowed.

"What a troublesome virus..." Eric muttered to himself. The temperature on the surface of the steel cocoon had exceeded his control limit. If he continued, the metal would melt, and he would no longer be able to control this steel cocoon. Just as he was considering whether to risk sending it into space—

"Buzz—"

A cross-shaped blue light trace suddenly tore through the night sky!

Countless fine white lines burst forth from the light trace, wrapping around the metal sphere like living things. The lines were as precise as nanometer-scale surgical scalpels.

"Crack..."

Countless cracks suddenly appeared on the surface of the metal sphere. Immediately after, the entire sphere, like a crumpled piece of paper, disintegrated into microscopic particles invisible to the naked eye in the blink of an eye! However, those white lights did not stop, but continued to split and cut, until even elementary particles were completely annihilated.

Eric hovered in the air, his cape flapping in the turbulent energy flow. He looked up at the gradually expanding cross-shaped light trace—the figure of a silver-haired man was slowly retracting his sword.

"Heh, Vergil, thank you." Eric said with a smile.

"Next time, just call me. Also, why didn't you use your Saint Cloth?" Vergil spoke from the other side of the portal.

"I didn't think it would be that troublesome. Did you resolve things on your end?" Eric asked.

"Resolved!" Angel flew out of the portal, excitedly gesticulating in mid-air, "Eric! You wouldn't believe what we encountered over there!"

Eric raised an eyebrow, and Angel excitedly said.

"Scarlet Witch! Zombie Scarlet Witch!"
