The atmosphere among the four was surprisingly lively. Although the room inside the spaceship wasn't spacious, it was enough for their individual activities. Dominic leaned against his bunk, his gaze thoughtfully sweeping over the other three in the room.
Quicksilver sat on the chair in the center of the room, holding an apple, gnawing on it while swinging his legs. Iceman leaned against the wall in the corner, fiddling with a small ice crystal, a hint of displeasure on his face. Colossus, meanwhile, sat cross-legged on his bunk, arms crossed, appearing steady and quiet.
"Hey, Ice Cube," Dominic suddenly said, his tone calm but with a hint of probing. "Tell me about the X-Men and the Academy, especially about the Professor."
Iceman's movements paused, the ice crystal in his hand suddenly shattering. He raised his head, his gaze sharp as he stared at Dominic. "Why do you want to know this? Who sent you?"
Dominic was startled, then smiled slightly, calmly raising his hands. "Don't be nervous, I'm just curious. After all, I've heard some rumors about the X-Men, so I wanted to confirm."
Iceman frowned, clearly not satisfied with the answer. "That's all in the past, why are you bringing it up?"
Colossus, who was nearby, noticed the commotion, and his low voice broke the stalemate. "What are you talking about? You're being quite loud."
Quicksilver, meanwhile, mumbled indistinctly while eating his apple. "Hey, looks like our new friend is very interested in the old generation's affairs. You know, history class, someone's gotta catch up."
Dominic looked at Colossus, his tone more direct. "I just want to know, how is Professor X doing now? And the X-Men, do they still exist?"
Quicksilver couldn't help but burst out laughing when he heard this, even casually tossing the apple core towards the trash can. "You're asking that a bit late. Why don't you just go ask Cyclops or Storm? They're living encyclopedias."
Dominic ignored Quicksilver's teasing and looked intently at Colossus.
Colossus hesitated for a moment, then finally spoke. "The X-Men haven't been active for a long time. The Academy has long since closed. The Professor, along with Wolverine and Phoenix, have retired. They no longer concern themselves with these matters."
Iceman snorted coldly, a hint of displeasure in his eyes. "For this mission, both the Professor and Logan chose to stay on Earth. Phoenix as well. To them, these conflicts are meaningless now."
Quicksilver grinned. "Hear that, new friend? The glorious days of the past are long over. Don't expect to dig up any heroic legends from us."
Dominic narrowed his eyes, seemingly processing the information. He said in a low voice, "So that's how it is... Then, I finally understand something about this mission."
Colossus looked at Dominic, his gaze complex. "We have the people of the present. As for the past, let's not bring it up again. Be ready to face the future."
Quicksilver clapped his hands and stood up. "Alright, don't let this topic get too heavy. We have more important things to do tomorrow, don't waste energy on these old matters." Saying this, he turned towards his bed and said, half-jokingly, "If you guys can keep up with my speed tomorrow, I might consider slowing down a bit."
Dominic didn't ask any more questions. He just leaned on the bed, quietly watching the ceiling, his thoughts drifting far away.
Dominic stood on an asteroid at the edge of the galaxy, arms crossed, watching the two factions line up like a gang meeting. His brow furrowed slightly, and a hint of unconcealed mockery appeared at the corner of his mouth. "What is this? A cosmic-scale gang shootout? Are you going to set up a mahjong table next?"
His gaze swept to the right. The first thing that caught his eye was Magneto's iconic silver armor, appearing majestic and stern against the backdrop of cosmic starlight. He stood at the very front of the line, hands slightly raised, as if controlling everything around him. On both sides, members of the Brotherhood were positioned, each radiating an imposing aura.
Mystique stood to Magneto's left, her blue scaled skin shimmering under the starlight. Her eyes were cold and sharp, a dagger hung at her waist, ready to strike at any moment. One of her hands slowly transformed, turning into a sharp blade, emitting a cold gleam. Pyro, beside her, wore a wild grin, fierce flames burning between his hands. He casually toyed with a ball of fire, tossing it into the air and catching it steadily, as if demonstrating to the opposing side.
Beast stood at the back, his massive figure like a moving blue wall, his sharp claws leaving deep marks on the asteroid. His low growl carried intimidation, and his entire body exuded an aura of wildness and power.
Azazel stood on Magneto's other side, his tail gently swaying behind him, complex runes etched into his scarlet skin. He held a black dagger in his hand, his gaze occasionally sweeping towards the opposing faction, ready to launch a deadly teleportation sneak attack at any moment.
Dominic's gaze continued to sweep over, noticing some new faces. A Mutant holding a metal chain whip stood silently, his expression indifferent, a black cloak draped behind him. Another was a woman, her eyes emitting a golden glow, the energy fluctuations around her sending shivers down one's spine.
On the opposite side, Gel the God-Butcher stood at the other end of the battlefield, his figure like a deep shadow. His skin had an almost obsidian sheen, and scarlet flames burned in his eyes. It was a bottomless hatred, intertwined with endless rage towards gods. Behind him floated black phantoms, as if condensed from pure hatred.
Gel held a strange black blade between his hands. The sword seemed to absorb the surrounding starlight, completely devouring the light. He slowly raised the black blade, pointing it at Magneto, a cold sneer playing on his lips. "You Mutants who call yourselves gods, today, you will pay the price for your arrogance."
The God-Butcher Legion behind him followed closely, each soldier radiating cold killing intent. In the ranks were massive warriors, their bodies wrapped in black chains, wielding giant hammers; there were also seemingly slender assassins, their figures flickering in the void, leaving eerie afterimages as they moved. Even more terrifying were some semi-mechanized warriors, their arms and shoulders modified into massive energy cannons, ready to unleash devastating attacks at any moment.
Dominic stood between the two sides, looking up and observing their lineups for a while, then suddenly muttered to himself, "With so much firepower concentrated here, how long can this galaxy last?"
Before he finished speaking, Mystique turned back and gave him a cold glance, while Pyro laughed loudly, waving his hand and raising a sheet of flames. "Don't talk like that, kid. Don't get cold feet when you see the guys on the other side."
"Cold feet?" Dominic raised an eyebrow, a hint of provocation in his eyes. "Hope your flames don't burn yourself, 'Matchstick'."
Pyro's smile instantly froze. Mystique, standing beside him, let out a snort, as if mocking Pyro's uselessness.
Magneto didn't turn his head, his voice low and majestic. "Everyone shut up and focus. They won't give us a second chance."
Gel on the opposite side raised the corner of his mouth, as if he had heard something interesting. He slowly raised the black blade and said in a deep voice, "Let's begin. Let this drama end in blood."
