The teams from Di'ao Academy and Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy didn't mind much—it wasn't their home ground, so the cheering didn't affect them. Only the members of Xingluo Royal Soul Master Academy looked uneasy.
Xingluo City was their stronghold, their home base. Watching the crowd cheer for the opponents was uncomfortable.
However, as the opponents were still to be determined by drawing lots, the four teams locked eyes, each thinking about defeating the others once the competition began. The atmosphere felt tense and lethal.
Since only four academies remained, the rest areas were spaced far apart.

"Everyone, stand at ease," Xu Jiawei said with a smile, while the four title Douluos maintained vigilant watch.
The tens of thousands of spectators rose as one, creating an imposing sight.
Xu Jiawei's voice remained gentle, a constant smile on his face: "Once every twenty years, a grand cycle returns. Today, in my Xingluo Empire, we host the High-Level Soul Master Academy Douluo Tournament of the entire continent. I am extremely pleased. I also thank all participating academies for bringing us such wonderful performances."

Xu Jiawei's face remained composed. Defeating Shrek Academy was a guaranteed gain, win or lose.
He announced the draw results to the crowd. Hearing that their academy would face Shrek, local spectators gasped; this would be a tough match.
The four captains returned to their rest areas to finalize strategies. The semifinals consisted of team and individual matches over two days. The finals added a 2v2v3 format, completed in one day.
"Senior Sister, Teacher Wang, are the players the ones we discussed last night?" Ma Xiaotao asked upon returning.
"Yes," Zhang Lexuan nodded.
"Good." Ma Xiaotao didn't say more. "Follow me to the standby area."
Several figures followed: Huo Yuhao, Xu Sanshi, Dai Yaoheng, Yao Haoxuan, Chen Zifeng, Gongyang Mo.
Two reserve members, Ling Luocheng and Xixi, stayed behind.
"Why isn't Ling Luocheng playing?" Xu Jiujiu's team wondered.
Simple: his Star Crown Martial Soul had an isolation attribute with extreme defense. He wasn't needed for this match, as Huo Yuhao had explained.
"Students, enter the stage," Tian Sha Douluo commanded.
Xu Jiawei had returned to the Imperial City under the protection of three title Douluos.
Both teams stepped onto the stage, stopping ten meters apart, eyes locked like explosives about to detonate.
Ma Xiaotao, arms crossed, appeared expressionless. As Shrek's captain, her presence immediately raised alert.
Unlike the others, her Soul Skills and combat strength were unknown.
"Both sides, step back. Wait for my announcement before releasing Martial Souls. Violators will be disqualified," Tian Sha Douluo's voice was cold and firm.

Huo Yuhao looked at her, the six behind giving Ma Xiaotao room to maneuver.
Tian Sha Douluo swept the stage. "Start the match."
Instantly, everyone moved.
Xu Jiujiu used her third Soul Skill, Star Guidance Technique, to protect her team. Golden lights shot from her Star Crown, creating halos around all members.
Then a shocking scene unfolded.
"Clang!"
A resounding phoenix cry rang out. Dark red flames ignited around Ma Xiaotao. Souls and eyes focused on her.
Soul rings appeared at her feet: Yellow, Yellow, Purple, Purple, Black, Black—six rings unnoticed, as expected of Shrek's captain.
But the seventh black ring appeared instantly, freezing everyone in awe.

"Impossible."
Di'ao and Sun Moon Academy students leapt to their feet, shocked.
"Xu, get ready to switch," Huo Yuhao reminded.
"Got it," Xu Sanshi replied.

Xu Jiujiu cast Star Guidance to lock Ma Xiaotao.
Yet Ma Xiaotao's speed was terrifying, dark red flames consuming the area, her first Soul Ring activated, fire condensing in her mouth.
The Phoenix Fire Line pierced Xu Jiujiu's team defenses. Even with the defensive star aura, Xu Jiujiu's Soul Skills were shattered instantly.
Tian Sha Douluo intervened, catching and throwing back an opponent before the fireline pierced the stage.
Ma Xiaotao's sixth Soul Ring activated, summoning the Evil Fire Phoenix and numerous flame orbs, aided by Star Guidance.
Xu Jiujiu unleashed her seventh-level Absolute Defense Soul Device, creating a golden barrier—but Ma Xiaotao instantly swapped with a clone, returning herself to Shrek's side.
"Phoenix Meteor Shower!"
She unleashed her sixth Soul Skill, hundreds of flaming meteors crashing into the enemy.
Xu Jiujiu activated Star Protection, a defensive skill built over eighteen days, but Ma Xiaotao's strength surpassed expectations. Even normal mid-tier Soul Saints wouldn't match her.
The meteors battered the barrier, weakening it, but Ma Xiaotao's power remained overwhelming.
Finally, Xu Jiujiu admitted defeat. Tian Sha Douluo confirmed Shrek Academy's win.
Ma Xiaotao spoke gently to Xu Jiujiu: "We just won because of cultivation difference. Your Soul Skill is the strongest defensive skill I've seen."
Xu Jiujiu agreed: "We forfeit the individual matches."
The semifinals' first team battle ended with Shrek Academy victorious.
Back in the rest area, Ma Xiaotao, Huo Yuhao, and the others realized they'd forgotten Xu Sanshi, who was trapped in the Absolute Defense Soul Device. They rushed back to retrieve him.
