Chapter 96 - Chapter 96: Post movie

Before she could respond, he leaned closer, letting his forehead brush against hers. The warmth of his breath and the faint scent of him made her shiver. "Just one kiss," he whispered, teasingly, letting the anticipation hang between them.

Noelle's pulse raced. She glanced around; the theatre empty enough that they felt almost alone and slowly, deliberately, leaned toward him. Their lips met in a soft, searching kiss, tender at first, testing the waters. The kiss deepened gradually, playful yet intimate, each discovering the rhythm of the other.

Her hand brushed lightly against his chest, feeling the strong steadiness beneath his shirt. Ren responded with a subtle squeeze of her fingers, his thumb tracing gentle circles as he pressed a little closer. The world of flickering images and sound faded; the theatre existed only as a quiet cocoon around them.

Ren pulled back just slightly, whispering against her lips, "You know, this might be my new favourite scene."

Noelle laughed softly, a mix of shyness and thrill, and leaned in again. This time, she pressed a hand to the side of his face, tilting her head, letting him take the lead while also showing her own intent. Their kiss lingered, long and warm, full of the electricity that comes from quiet moments turned intimate.

Noelle's heart raced. She felt the pull of the moment, the intimacy of being so close in the quiet dark, and slowly leaned in, letting their lips meet in a soft, lingering kiss; gentle at first, then a fraction deeper as they found the rhythm between them, hearts beating in sync with the flickering images on the screen.

As the movie played on, they stole small touches: her fingers brushing the back of his hand, his hand finding the small of her back, every motion filled with a tender, unspoken connection. By the time the credits rolled, neither of them wanted to move, savouring the shared closeness, hearts still racing from both the movie and the gentle storm they'd created together.

Noelle's breath hitched, emboldened by the dimness around them. Slowly, deliberately, she leaned closer, tilting her hand toward him. She teasingly suckled on his finger, a small, daring gesture that sent a jolt through him.

Ren's chest tightened, his body shifting just slightly in the seat. The warmth of her and the unexpected boldness of her action sent a delicious tingle down his spine.

"I'm officially warning you now... you're not playing fair." he whispered, half amused, half breathless, his lips brushing hers in a soft, fleeting kiss as if to steady himself. Noelle only smiled, mischief sparkling in her eyes, leaning just a little more into the darkness, making sure he felt every inch of her teasing.

The theater lights flickered across the screen but all Ren could focus on was her; every movement, every daring little gesture, sending pulses of pleasure and anticipation through him. Even in the quiet, intimate darkness, the tension between them was palpable and electric.

After the movie, Ren barely waited for the credits to finish before taking Noelle's hand and leading her out of the theatre. The night air felt cooler, sharper against his heated skin. Once they reached the car, he turned to her, eyes still dark with the same energy that had been simmering between them all night.

"You really like testing my patience, don't you?" he said, voice low, half-amused. Noelle only smiled, a soft, unrepentant tilt of her lips.

Ren exhaled, then cupped her face, brushing his thumb along her cheek before kissing her; not hurriedly, but deeply, as if trying to catch up on every moment he'd held himself back. When they finally pulled apart, both were breathless, the laughter in their eyes tangled with something warmer, more tender.

"That," he murmured, resting his forehead against hers, "was for making me lose focus in there."

She laughed quietly. "You looked pretty focused to me."

Ren pulled her toward the waiting car, his hand warm around hers, his pulse still racing from everything that had just happened. In the back seat, he tried to steady his breathing, forcing his gaze to stay out the window instead of on her. Every soft movement Noelle made; the way her fingers absently tracing the delicate silver of her bracelet, the way it shimmered as she gently shifted it around her wrist, the faint trace of her perfume, made it harder to keep his composure.

He clenched his jaw, reminding himself that the driver was right there, that his father would probably hear about anything out of place. But then she shifted closer, their shoulders brushing and the restraint he prided himself on wavered.

By the time they reached her apartment, the quiet between them had turned heavy with everything unsaid. Ren stepped out first, opening her door for her. As soon as they were out of sight of the car, he caught her wrist gently, turning her toward him.

"Noelle," he said softly, voice rough with the effort of holding back.

She looked up, her gaze meeting his with a softness that felt almost fragile, like a deer caught in the headlights, wide-eyed, innocent, yet impossibly tempting. He leaned down, his forehead pressing gently against hers, the warmth between them palpable. His words slipped from his lips in a near-whisper, his voice thick with unspoken longing.

"I've been trying to be good all night," he murmured.

Noelle tilted her head, a teasing smile tugging at her lips. "Oh? If this is you being good… what does bad look like?"

Ren's laugh was low and throaty, the kind that vibrated through his chest. "You really want to find out?" he whispered, stepping closer.

Before she could answer, he closed the distance with his hand finding her jaw, his mouth claiming hers in a kiss that was anything but gentle. It was rough with need, threaded with frustration and longing, all the emotion he'd been holding back since the night began.

Noelle responded in kind, matching his urgency, her fingers clutching the front of his shirt. The world narrowed to the press of lips, the shared breath, the heady pulse between them that neither could quite control.

When they finally broke apart, both were breathless, eyes searching, hearts unsteady. Ren caught her wrist gently, guiding her hand above her head, his breath unsteady as he met her gaze. For a moment, neither moved: the space between them thick with heat and something unspoken.

Then Noelle shifted, eyes never leaving his, the faintest, knowing smile curving on her lips. She turned her head slightly, brushing her lips over his fingers softly suckling each one, sending a jolt through him.

The air seemed to pulse around them, every small movement amplified, every glance a question and an answer at once. Ren's composure wavered; she could see it in the tension of his jaw, the way his breath caught.

"Noelle…" he murmured, her name half warning, half plea.

Noelle giggled, the sound light and teasing, cutting through the thick air between them. "Someone's losing control," she taunted softly, her eyes gleaming with mischief.

Ren narrowed his eyes in mock warning, but the corner of his mouth betrayed him with a smirk.

"You think you can get away with that?"

She took a daring step back, laughing as she turned to dart away but she barely made it two steps before his arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her flush against him. Her squeal turned into breathless laughter as he caught her easily, his grip firm but tender. "Told you," he murmured near her ear, voice low and playful, "you don't get to run from me that easily."

Noelle twisted slightly in his arms, looking up at him, her cheeks flushed and eyes sparkling.

"Maybe I wasn't really trying," she whispered.

Ren chuckled, his forehead resting briefly against hers as his breathing steadied. "Good," he said softly. "Because I wasn't planning to let you go."

Noelle looked at Ren and kneeled in front of him. While holding her gaze, she unbuckle his belt and slowly unzipped his pants.
