At that moment, the chariot-like figure stood in the darkness. From Fumiya Jin's group's perspective, they couldn't see its form clearly, only the rough outline of a silhouette.
However, the two riders didn't need to see it clearly at all. The monster's appearance had been deeply seared into their minds from its very first appearance.
That was about three minutes ago.
After the five of them woke up in the same apartment, they had confirmed each other's status as players.
They were just about to go through the standard procedure of brief self-introductions and discuss how to cooperate to clear the instance.
But then, the voice of an acquaintance suddenly called out... A fitness coach didn't realize and subconsciously answered, "Oh, Sister Wang, here to work out again?"

Especially the head in the very center of its back, the highest one—it was raised to its peak, its mouth opened to a degree that would make even the Slit-Mouthed Woman sigh in admiration, and then it let out an extremely shrill, high-frequency shriek!
In an instant, the four people in the room were paralyzed, collapsing limply to the ground... Then the monster charged, tore the other two to shreds right in front of the two riders, and inserted parts of their bodies onto itself.
The two riders were, one, lucky not to be the monster's primary targets, and two, saved by items obtained in a trial instance. One item delayed the monster's movements, the other was used for escape, allowing them to flee the room together and rush into the hallway...
Now, the moment the two riders saw the silhouette in the darkness, the shadow of that centrally raised head... their hearts trembled with fear.
It's over.
If that roar pinned them down, they would have absolutely no chance of escape!
But it was already too late to run...
So both of them quickly let go and covered their ears—the price was that the unsteady DoorDash rider lost his support and instantly fell on the stairs, letting out a pained grunt. But he still scrambled to cover his ears.
"Eeeeeeeeeeeee!—"
A shriek so sharp it set one's teeth on edge erupted, instantly engulfing the entire stairwell.
Although the two deliverymen had covered their ears, it seemed completely unable to block the shriek's penetrating power.

Amidst the vibration, a golden light emerged from the tachi and instantly spread out, then... covered Fumiya Jin's entire body.
In an instant, his whole body was enveloped in a golden glow, like a god descending to the mortal realm.
"An Isshin-style parry?"
The Uber Eats rider was stunned.
The DoorDash rider, lying on the ground, could only see Fumiya Jin from the knees down, but seeing that sudden eruption of golden light, he was dumbfounded too.
And standing behind Fumiya Jin, at the very back of the group, was Kei Shirogane... who had the clearest view of all.
She was also completely paralyzed and couldn't move, but she saw Fumiya Jin, standing in front, suddenly draw his tachi and block. At that moment, a red light even seemed to flash on the blade...
The next instant, the red light seemed to be triggered by the sharp shriek that suddenly hit them, and then the golden light spread out and enveloped him.

Half a flight of stairs below, the massive dark figure seemed to have been staggered by something. It began to tremble all over, then fell to its knees with a loud thud.

The figure, as large as a minivan, was actually launched completely into the air, flying a meter high!
It even made one wonder how such a sharp and slender tachi could possibly launch something so enormous and heavy...
And then...
"Swoosh!—"
Both hands raised high above his head.
The remaining power of the Golden Super Armor, all of it, was concentrated into this one downward cleave...
"Chishushudiediedie!—"
The tachi fell, bringing with it a long trail of golden light.
Flesh, bone, skulls... nothing could impede that blade of light in the slightest.
The entire massive and twisted figure was forcibly sliced in half, collapsing powerlessly to either side... leaving a bottomlessly deep sword mark on the wall behind it...
