Chapter 307 - Chapter 307: A Lucky Coincidence

"Masked Man?"

Kakashi's eyes narrowed slightly.

He wasn't surprised that the person appeared on the battlefield. In a war, it's reasonable to run into the enemy at any time or place and have to fight.

But what was strange was that this guy seemed to be looking for him specifically.

Kakashi didn't think he was special enough to be targeted by a member of the Akatsuki organization.

No matter what he thought, the enemy in front of him clearly wasn't going to explain himself. He just seemed to be in a crazy state, determined to achieve his goal.

Boom!

With a loud crash, a giant tree behind the masked man snapped in half, and the masked man himself shot forward like a cannonball.

"So fast."

A red light flashed in Kakashi's eyes. He was surprised by how fast the enemy was moving, almost too fast to see.

But what surprised him even more was why the enemy wasn't using that strange and troublesome Mangekyou Sharingan eye technique. It would have been more unexpected and harder to defend against.

Many thoughts raced through his mind, but his body barely had time to put up his arms in a defensive position.

The next moment, an immense force slammed into him, and Kakashi was sent flying backward even faster than the enemy had come.

Boom, boom, boom…

Kakashi struggled to regain his balance, breaking three or four trees before finally stopping.

"This guy isn't just fast… he's also incredibly strong."

Kakashi spat out a mouthful of blood. Before he could catch his breath, the violent figure charged at him again.

The wind howled as the trees rustled. In the swaying light and shadows, the figure grew larger and larger, until it filled his entire field of vision. The overwhelming power even threatened to crush his will to fight.

But at that moment, Guy suddenly appeared out of nowhere, his legs spinning like a top. "Konoha Strong Whirlwind!"

A side kick slammed into the masked man's jaw, and this time, Guy was the one who sent him flying. The man's face was even slightly deformed.

"Guy, you're awake?" Kakashi asked, surprised and happy.

"I've been awake the whole time. I wasn't sleeping at all."

Guy grinned, revealing two rows of bright teeth. "But it's a lucky coincidence that I made it to this fight."

"This battle will probably be just as tough as the one against 'Satori.' There's something very strange about this masked guy right now."

Kakashi's expression was serious. "Don't let your guard down. Be careful."

According to the intelligence they had gathered before, the masked man shouldn't have had this inhuman strength and speed. Something must have changed within Akatsuki that they didn't know about.

"I know," Guy nodded, looking up. The masked man was already standing up.

Ignoring the deformation of his face, the crazy man stared intensely at Kakashi. "You damn bastard!"

With an angry roar, he charged forward again. Guy immediately went to meet him.

Boom, boom, boom…

As their fists and feet collided, a strong wind swept through the area, and waves of energy exploded outward. Constant rumbling echoed through the forest, sounding like thunder roaring in their ears.

Even Kakashi, with his Mangekyou Sharingan, was now struggling to keep up with their movements, just like a normal person.

"He's really strong."

Kakashi muttered to himself with a serious expression.

Guy was another story. He had been training in the Eight Gates for many years, and he had just entered that state of 'no-mind, no-self.' He had clearly gained a lot, so this display was amazing, but in a way, it was reasonable.

But what was the masked man's excuse?

Kakashi didn't know that when Obito was almost killed, he had merged with White Zetsu and had First Hokage cells transplanted into him by Uchiha Madara, making him physically stronger than anyone else in the ninja world.

Not to mention, the 'Satori's' body fragments contained a lot of Chakra and negative human emotions.

The former was only secondary, but the latter was like poisonous fertilizer for the Uchiha. As long as they could handle it, their mental strength would become even stronger.

These two things combined in a strange chemical reaction, resulting in the terrifying boost he had now.

Otherwise, it would have been impossible for him to improve his physical skills to the point of being comparable to Guy's in such a short time.

"But why isn't he using that space-time Ninjutsu?"

Kakashi watched the fight for a moment, his expression both surprised and doubtful.

The masked man's physical techniques were very familiar. They were clearly Uchiha style, known for being precise, efficient, and without unnecessary movements. If combined with the ability to make his body intangible, it would be even more troublesome and unpredictable, making it impossible to defend against.

But they had been fighting for a while, and he had only been trading blows directly with Guy. He hadn't used his Mangekyou eye technique even once.

"Does he not have time to use it? Or does he also have problems with his eye power?"

Questions popped up in Kakashi's mind, but he dismissed them.

Regardless, it was a good thing for the current situation. Through his Mangekyou Sharingan, he could see that Guy was gradually overpowering the enemy.

Speed and strength can be improved quickly, but experience, skill, and combat awareness… those things take time and the accumulation of many battles.

Even Otsutsuki Kaguya, the 'ancestor of Chakra,' was tricked and fooled by some third rate techniques in the original timeline, and defeated by enemies who were much weaker than her, precisely for this reason.

Not to mention, Guy was currently stronger, and he was opening the Eight Gates one after another.

"Sixth Gate: Gate of Joy, Open!"

Guy's aura became even more intense and violent. His skin turned red, and the surging energy blasted his spiked hair, and his hands were engulfed in invisible flames.

"Morning Peacock!"

Countless punches flew out, leaving behind flaming afterimages.

At first, the masked man could defend and counterattack, but he soon fell completely on the defensive. In an instant, he was hit countless times.

"Now's the time, Guy, get out of the way!"

A bloody tear ran down Kakashi's cheek, and his eyes flashed with an eerie light. As Guy dodged upon hearing his words, Kakashi activated his eye technique, aiming directly at the masked man.

The air distorted into a spiral, twisting the masked man's body along with it, and almost instantly swallowing him completely.

To eliminate this great enemy for the village, Kakashi had used all of his power without holding back.

Seeing the enemy disappear into thin air, Kakashi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But almost at the same time, a figure appeared in front of him, and a hand reached out toward his left eye with lightning speed. A mad whisper echoed in his ear,

"You are not worthy to use this eye!"

The sudden change happened in an instant. Even Guy didn't have time to stop it, let alone Kakashi, who was in a weakened state.

After a sharp pain, the gift from his friend was gone. Along with it, the ghostly figure disappeared.

"Kakashi, are you alright?"

Guy arrived a step too late. He didn't dare to kneel down to check on him. Instead, he focused on the surroundings, wary of the enemy's reappearance.

But when he glanced over, the half-open eyelid and empty eye socket… the sight was shocking.

"That bastard!"

Guy was filled with anger and clenched his fists.

Inside the Kamui dimension.

The guy Guy cursed as a bastard was standing on a platform, staring blankly at the eyeball in his hand.

The anger that had been burning like a raging fire was now like a pot of cold water thrown on him, leaving only damp, warm embers.

"What have I done?"

The anger at Kakashi was replaced by deep regret the moment he took back his eye. Obito had regained some of his sanity.

This was undoubtedly the greatest betrayal of his former self, and even for the current Obito, it was a very strong shock.

But even the strongest shock will start to fade after reaching its peak, and the negative emotions from the Box of Paradise began to take over again.

"You won't control me again!"

Obito's expression was twisted, and he let out an angry roar toward the sky.

His momentum was strong, but as the saying goes, the angrier you are, the farther you are from reason. In this state, it was merely fighting poison with poison.

The Uchiha Clan's mental strength was great, and it could even continue to increase with emotional fluctuations, but like the traditional Mangekyou Sharingan, they weren't very durable.

Obito could temporarily overpower it with a burst of energy, but afterward, he would still be controlled by 'Satori's' Chakra.

"Damn!"

Obito had foreseen this result. His eyes flashed, and the mask on his face shattered. He reached into his eye socket and pulled out the Sharingan.

He threw it on the ground and replaced it with Kakashi's left eye.

Instantly, the comma shapes spun and twisted into the same pattern. Obito's eye power surged, completely suppressing 'Satori's' Chakra.

"Get out of here!"

Obito roared, suppressing all the Chakra that didn't belong to him to one side of his body. He grabbed his right hand with his left and tore off the White Zetsu clone that was almost inseparable from him.

Thud!

The White Zetsu, covered in blood, was thrown onto the platform, spreading into a puddle of liquid. Strange sprouts and tendrils grew from it, looking like plants and animals.

"Hiss…"

Half of Obito's body was a bloody mess. He took a deep breath, but his eyes remained fixed on the blob on the ground.

He had a strange feeling that if he touched it again, it would immediately crawl onto him, distort his will, and give him power again.

"Tch… I didn't expect that Obito would attack Kakashi and take back his eye."

Zetsu, in the ground, had witnessed the whole thing, and was still a little surprised.

It had tried countless times to persuade him to do this, but it had failed. But this thing just happened out of nowhere.

"What exactly did he encounter?"

Zetsu couldn't figure it out. With all the experience he accumulated over the years, he couldn't imagine that such a coincidence could exist.

As he was thinking, Zetsu's expression suddenly changed, and he quickly burrowed into the ground, not daring to stay for a moment.

A moment later, Orochimaru appeared next to Kakashi. He glanced in the direction Zetsu had disappeared in and scoffed, "He runs fast."

Guy was overjoyed to see Orochimaru. "Orochimaru sensei, quickly check on Kakashi. His eye…"

"No need to say more."

Orochimaru waved his hand. "I already know what happened."

On the way here, he had learned everything that had happened from Genie Lamp, including everything that was happening in the 'Kamui dimension' at this moment.

It could only be said to be a lucky coincidence that things had reached this point.

If Kakashi hadn't used 'Kamui,' if the enemy hadn't been 'Satori' from the Box of Paradise, if Obito hadn't been fighting with space-time Ninjutsu… none of this would have happened.

Kakashi had fallen, not just because he lost his Mangekyou Sharingan. It was partly because he was physically weak after the battle, and partly because he might have figured something out.

The same space-time Ninjutsu, the same Mangekyou Sharingan, but located in different positions in their eyes… With so many coincidences, it was too easy for those involved to make connections.

"Kakashi is fine. He just needs to rest."

Orochimaru turned his gaze to 'Satori,' who had already been restrained by almost thirty Jonin who had arrived one after another.

He had underestimated this monster from the Box of Paradise.

Perhaps its power level wasn't impressive, especially compared to a Tailed Beast, and it was easier to be suppressed by Genie Lamp, but its characteristics were interesting.

"This negative emotion is truly remarkable. It can even be used as a catalyst for Uchiha."

Orochimaru licked his lips, subconsciously wondering where this stuff came from.

It was said that 'Satori' was a monster produced by the Box of Paradise after absorbing enough ninja Chakra and spiritual energy.

But judging from the situation in the Pure Land, normal ninja didn't have that much negative emotion. It was like a piece of pig iron. No matter how much you hammer it, at most it can only become steel - ordinary steel, it cannot become orichalcum.

Not to mention, they were already dead the moment they were sucked into the Box of Paradise. What was mixed in 'Satori's' body was actually just a few fragments.

Of course, even if they were alive, it wouldn't help.

Ninja were just humans, and humans either endured pain silently or chose to avoid it. The former would raise their threshold, and the latter would become numb and ignore it altogether, making it impossible to continue generating negative emotions.

Avoiding pain was human nature. If they couldn't avoid it and had to endure pain above their threshold, the third possibility was collapse. After that, they would be even less likely to provide negative emotions.

Orochimaru understood what humans were like better than anyone else.

So at this moment, he was very interested in 'Satori,' which was like a combination of filth.

Thinking of the Tailed Beasts, who were inexplicably accumulating a lot of anger and resentment despite living at the top of the food chain in the wild, Orochimaru suddenly had a very absurd guess.

"In any case, let's seal this thing up first."

Orochimaru pursed his lips and flashed in front of everyone. "Move back a little."

After they made space, Orochimaru summoned a White Zetsu clone from the ground using Sage Art. "You guys really don't value your lives. But at this moment, you're a pretty good tool."

"Orochimaru, what are you planning to do?" The White Zetsu clone said, its tone fierce despite being inwardly weak, sensing a bad ending.

"What am I going to do? Of course, it's a great thing - I'm going to help you become 'Satori's' Jinchuriki."

Orochimaru grinned, a smile on his face.
