Chapter 122 - Chapter 122

Before arriving in this world, Hayashi and the others had gone to great lengths to ensure they'd replace Ainz and arrive at the canon location—after all, a village was about to be attacked!

To achieve this, Hayashi had even endured brushing Ho-Oh's feathers (the damn bird!) and hand-fed it Erina's pickled edamame—without eating a single one himself! He'd even stooped to praising it as cooler than Lugia, calling Psychic/Flying "trash" compared to Fire/Flying.

Ugh.

Disgusting. Shameless!

Originally, if the "luck boost" plan failed, they'd planned to return to the Pokémon world and seek Dialga's help to manipulate time—since the Overlord world lacked an Arceus-like deity, Dialga could discreetly wield its temporal powers.

But now, it seemed unnecessary.

"Permission granted." Hayashi quickly relayed the message to Kayle before retrieving a pair of "Remote Viewing Lenses" from his inventory. Handing them out, he said, "Let's scout the area and confirm if this is Carne Village—ideally, we'll find the sisters from the story to verify the timeline."

Erina: "Got it!"

Hisako: "Leave it to us!"

Yunyun: "I-I'll help too!"

Heathcliff stroked his chin. "Need my assistance?"

Hayashi thought for a moment. "Nah, go test your new body instead—want some tissues?"

Heathcliff stumbled mid-step, turning back with gritted teeth. "I don't need to test that!"

Hayashi feigned innocence. "I meant for sweating after exercise. What were you thinking?"

Fists clenched. So clenched.

But since he couldn't win a fight, Heathcliff could only storm out, muttering curses under his breath, leaving behind a room full of laughter.

...

Sky Castle, Fourth Floor: Stellar Coliseum

"Lord Heathcliff—"

As Heathcliff entered, the three guardians of the fourth floor knelt in unison—even the usually mischievous youngest sister behaved impeccably.

'The Stellar Sisters, Fourth Floor Guardians—'

'Eldest Sister: Dark Star Sovereign, Syndra—'

'Second Sister: Radiant Star, Lux—'

'Youngest Sister: Twilight Star, Zoe—'

Heathcliff recalled their profiles before speaking. "No need for formalities. By design, the Sky Castle has only four Supreme Ones. I'm more of an overseer."

"To us, you are still worthy of respect." Syndra bowed slightly, her voice solemn. "Lord Heathcliff, what brings you to the Stellar Coliseum?"

"Hmm." He summoned his shield and sword with a flick of his wrists. "We're in a new world. I need to test my skills—find me suitable opponents."

"Understood!"

Syndra rose, a faint smile on her lips. "Then let us three sisters be your sparring partners."

Lux grinned playfully. "But please go easy on us, Lord Heathcliff."

Zoe nodded rapidly. "Yeah! Zoe hates pain!"

"I might not even be a match for you." Heathcliff shook his head. "I'm more of a strategist than a fighter… Well, let's just try it."

"Yes—"

The sisters scattered, adopting battle-ready stances.

"When the coin lands, the match begins."

Heathcliff tossed a gold coin into the air.

Three, two, one…

Clink.

The moment it hit the ground, he raised his shield just in time to block Syndra's dark energy blast, which sent him skidding back half a step.

Whoosh!

Zoe teleported behind him, cackling as she hurled a black hole at his back.

"Dark Star Singularity!"

The gravitational pull yanked at Heathcliff's cape, but he simply turned and bisected it with a single slash.

Meanwhile, Lux scattered tiny orbs of light around the arena. With a flick of her wrist, a laser beam ricocheted between them, multiplying into twelve beams that shot toward Heathcliff from all angles.

"Heh—"

Heathcliff smirked. These Stellar Sisters—crafted with premium items and rare race-change tickets, meticulously programmed for combat—were truly his masterpiece.

But defeating him wouldn't be so easy!

...

Meanwhile, the Grand Hall

After confirming the surroundings, Hayashi's group concluded that Ho-Oh's "luck boost" plan had worked perfectly—the scene before them showed Anri and her sister happily working the fields with their parents.

"Satisfied?"

Hayashi glanced at Erina, Hisako, and Yunyun before shrugging. "As you wished, we've arrived at the right time and place. Now we just need to protect Carne Village, right?"

To his surprise, Hisako shook her head. "Young Master, don't forget! In Episode 3, when Gazef arrives on the plains, he encounters several villages already destroyed by the Sunlight Scripture—"

"Wait, Sunlight Scripture?" Hayashi frowned, trying to recall. "I think…"

Erina chimed in. "You know, the one voiced by Takehito Koyasu—same as Gin's VA—"

Hayashi's eyes lit up. "Oh! The guy who summoned an angel and got one-shot by Ainz?"

"Exactly!" Hisako nodded, but before she could continue, the sound of flapping wings interrupted them. Kayle descended gracefully, her six golden wings spread wide as she knelt.

"Captain of the Angel Guard, First Floor Guardian Kayle, reporting for duty—"

"Captain of the Demon Guard, First Floor Guardian Morgana, reporting for duty—"

Morgana landed beside her sister, clad in black robes with six demonic wings. Though equally stunning, her demeanor was far more relaxed compared to Kayle's rigid formality.

"At ease." Hayashi waved. "Good work."

"Serving the Supreme One is no hardship." Kayle replied stiffly, while Morgana rolled her eyes. "Ugh, my uptight sister, can't you complain a little? Maybe the Supreme One will reward us for our efforts—"

"Morgana! How dare you seek rewards for serving the Supreme One?" Kayle scolded. "It is our honor to—"

"Yeah yeah, sure sure—" Morgana covered her ears, looking like Sun Wukong enduring Tang Sanzang's lectures. "Mhm, uh-huh, whatever—"

Her face might as well have said "I'm not listening."

"How dare you disrespect the Supreme One like this!?" Kayle's wings trembled with rage. She turned to Erina, bowing deeply. "Supreme One, please forgive Morgana's insolence."

Erina giggled. "It's fine! I designed her personality this way. Why would I be upset?"

"I knew it—"

Morgana muttered under her breath, then shot an exasperated look at her sister.

Hayashi shrugged and turned to Hisako, saying, "Hisako, let's get back to the earlier topic—so you're saying that while Carne Village is safe, other border villages in the kingdom might be under attack by Yours… I mean, the Sunlight Scripture?"

Hisako nodded. "That's highly likely—which is why I suggest deploying the mechanical patrol units under Violet's command for 24-hour surveillance in the area. If any suspicious activity is detected, we can immediately dispatch either the Angel Guard or the Demon Guard."

"Hmm…"

Hayashi nodded. "Agreed! 'Violet, come here—'."

'Violet Evergarden, Mechanical Race, Sixth Floor Guardian of the Sky Castle.'

Once Violet arrived in the hall, Hisako promptly relayed the mission details.

"Speaking of which—" Hayashi stroked his chin. "I recall the Sunlight Scripture belongs to that so-called Theocracy, right? Imagine their faces when they invade only to find themselves staring down the barrels of weapons wielded by angels… Heh heh heh."

Amusing! Talk about a blow to their faith, huh?
