Chapter 96 - Act 7 (2)

Ai's face changed when she heard Hikari Yuki's words.

She turned to look at Prof. Agasa and said, "Prof. Let's go to the next restaurant instead! There are delicious food there!"

She didn't want to stay in this building even for a second longer. Just thinking that there were bombs around was already more than enough to make Ai want to leave as soon as possible.

"Ah, yes."

"Ehhh!" the children were disappointed.

Prof. Agasa took some time to coax them and then everyone left the room as soon as possible. But they had only reached the entrance when they saw Conan rushing in and then the building shook.

Bang!

"Ahhhh!"

Smoke spread out and Hikari Yuki held Ai tightly, protecting the young girl while narrowing her eyes. She knew that No. 10 was planning to make it big, but she didn't expect that he would directly detonate the bomb.

"Sorry, it seems that we're too late," Hikari Yuki whispered.

Ai clutched on Hikari Yuki's clothes and took a deep breath. No matter what, she's already 18 years old and is no longer a child. She turned to look at Conan and said, "What did you find?"

"The trace is heading to this restaurant, but I don't know where he is." Conan looked around and frowned. There were too many customers in the restaurant and he couldn't pinpoint which one that person was.

After all, he saw that the other party seemed to have changed his face.

Hikari Yuki: "..."

She looked at no. 10 who was looking in their direction with interest and shook her head internally. Even though no. 10 had already asked Vermouth to help him disguise himself, it seemed that the disguise was made hastily and it was worse than usual.

At least, for Hikari Yuki, it was really bad.

"I think it's more important for you to call the police and let them defuse the bombs first. Who knows how many bombs are left," Hikari Yuki said slowly.

"Yes, Sister Yuki," Conan replied as he just realized that Hikari Yuki was there.

It was then he noticed that Hikari Yuki was holding Haibara Ai in one of her arms and Ai was also clutching Hikari Yuki tightly.

Conan: ???

No, how did your relationship get so close to each other?

Conan felt as if he had missed a few hundred episodes.

He didn't even know when Hikari Yuki and Haibara Ai contacted each other before aside from the brief meeting.

"Good luck, Conan." Haibara Ai then directed Prof. Agasa to bring the children and huddled along with the others.

Even though she was still afraid, but they had to protect themselves and if possible, get out of this place.

"The staircase was blown up and we're practically trapped on this floor. The firefighters are coming to set up the ladders, though."

Firefighters?

Hikari Yuki glanced at the open window and saw that some people had already started going out. They all followed closely with Hikari Yuki still holding onto Haibara Ai tightly and she looked at the information in the group.

The battle had already started.

It's an internal battle in the private room.

Hikari Yuki's eyes flickered slightly and then she patted Haibara Ai tenderly. "If I were to let you down, can you go by yourself?"

"Do you have to go?" Haibara Ai asked back and looked at Hikari Yuki's eyes directly. There was faint fear and unease within her eyes.

"Don't worry, I won't die." Hikari Yuki gave a reassuring and confident smile.

Haibara Ai pursed her lips and nodded heavily. No matter what, she didn't want anyone around her to die anymore and this naturally also included Hikari Yuki.

After helping to defuse some bombs, Conan realized that there was not enough time.

The police officers also couldn't climb up and they prioritized getting the people inside to come out. He made a deduction and found No. 10 hiding in one of the resting rooms, getting ready to get out through the fireplace there.

"You can't get away now." Conan was aiming his anesthetic needle watch towards no. 10 in front of him, but the other party showed no fear at all.

"The bombs outside are all mine. What makes you think that you can trap me here?" No. 10 asked back, his tone contained amusement. He felt that Conan was really smart, but his deduction process has basically been guessed by no. 5 and with his discussion with the other party, the end result was extremely good.

Otherwise, Conan would not have been able to find him in the slightest bit.

"Do you want to die?" Conan gritted his teeth.

"Little Detective, your deduction is good, but why do you think I haven't been able to run away all this time?"

"You…"

Bang!

Something hit the back of Conan's head, making him dizzy and he fell down, half conscious. He tried his best to stay awake but something seemed to pull him back.

"There's enough nonsense," A male voice could be heard. "You can't run away anymore… using the organization's resources to make profit, do you really think the organization is stupid?"

"Yes, they're stupid. I know you're… undercover," No. 10 said the last word in an extremely low voice as he looked at no. 7 who was standing just a few meters away from him.

'What?'

Conan felt his consciousness slipping and he could barely hear the words after 'you're.'

"Cava."

Bang!

The glass broke and a bullet pierced in no. 7's direction. He leaned to the side, avoiding it and then started fighting with no. 10.

The two of them fought fiercely, seemingly trying to have a contest.

Crack!

In the end, No. 10 felt his bone broken and no. 7 was getting ready to catch him, but he stepped back and then took out the detonator. He purposely stayed further away from the window to avoid no. 8 interfering with their battle once more.

"Cava… heh, what an annoying codename," No. 10 spat out and looked in Conan's direction. The boy was still in coma and there was a surge of emotion within no. 10's heart.

This is the protagonist.

He's lying down there weakly.

All along, No. 10 hated the protagonist so much that he hoped the other party could die so that the world would not revolve around him.

Click!

No. 10 pressed the detonator, hoping to kill them all, but nothing happened.

His expression stagnated and he almost screamed out loud.

"Give up," No. 7 punched no. 10 once again. He proceeded to tie up the other party's hand. To be honest, no. 7 really wanted to use a handcuff, but that might expose his real identity to Conan, which was not something no. 7 wanted.

At least, not yet.

He didn't want to be exposed for the time being.

When no. 7 bent down to pick up Conan, No. 10 suddenly struggled and picked Conan as he backed away towards the fire in the restaurant.

"Don't do that!" No. 7 looked at this scene and gritted his teeth.

"If I have to die, I'll at least take someone else with me," No. 10 sneered.

Acting kind and righteous in front of the protagonist… He couldn't do it.

Even if the performance required him to do that, no. 10 would rather be a villain until the very end.

"You've betrayed the organization… do you still want to drag innocent people in?" No. 7 frowned when he saw no. 10 trying to take Conan too.

He felt that the script was getting more and more awry.

"You don't understand! Why do you all could stand under the light so spectacularly while I can only stay in the darkness? It's not fair! I just want to…"

Boom!
