Cassian's POV
She can cry her eyes out, and no one can stop her from doing so.
"Rachel!" she screams, holding the coffin and struggling with the gammas who are about to seal it. "Leave me alone!" she yells at them.
It's no longer a mild struggle. She's ready to fight, her emotions and the tears flowing freely from her eyes serving as her weapons. And in this battle, the gammas don't stand a chance against her.
I should say something, or maybe tell the gammas to take her out by force.
But I do nothing. I just watch, my legs feeling as though they're glued to the ground.
"Alpha." Phineas's voice reaches my ears. "You should handle this."
Lyra's struggle to hold on to the coffin goes beyond resistance; the gammas are too gentle with her. It's already becoming a scene, one that's slowly defeating the purpose of this gathering.
This gathering is supposed to be a mourning for the deceased, but right now…
"Alpha?" Phineas touches me lightly.
"Phineas."
