When opportunity knocks, why turn it away? Watching Rias's bashful blush, Shuo couldn't help but let a sly grin creep across his lips.
That night, after a passionate clash, Rias crossed the threshold from girl to woman.
A few days slipped by in a blur. Life at the Gremory estate was good—Shuo found time to tease the pure-hearted Irina Shidou, and the days passed in easy luxury.
But today, he had a mission. After days of searching, he'd locked onto a black-tier target.
"System target: Chaos Karma Dragon Tiamat. Mission level: Black. Objective: Subjugate!"
After a quick word with Rias, Shuo set off alone for the Familiar Forest.
He felt it the moment he entered—a Dragon King's aura, wild and ancient. He soared straight toward Tiamat's lair.
Funny, he'd never actually seen the human form of the only female among the Five Dragon Kings—Tiamat, the Chaos Karma Dragon.
Once she was his, he'd make sure she showed off for him.
Lost in thought, he found himself at the edge of her territory.
Sensing the dragon power rolling off him, Tiamat let loose a thunderous roar—a warning to keep out.
"ROOOOOOAR!"
Shuo didn't flinch. Dragons were territorial by nature, and Tiamat was no exception.
All through the Familiar Forest, creatures scattered at the sound of her fury. Even the trainers working to contract familiars dropped everything and ran, terrified of becoming collateral damage.
But Shuo pressed on, flying straight into the heart of her domain, ignoring the storm of dragon wrath.
Awakened, Tiamat felt the unfamiliar dragon aura drawing closer, and her irritation spiked. She shifted into a battle stance, ready to meet this bold intruder head-on.
Then she saw him—a human boy.
For a moment, she froze, confused. Why did this human radiate such overwhelming dragon energy? What was he?
As Tiamat sized him up, Shuo took his time examining her.
Unlike the [Jade Dragon of the Western Sea Child], Tiamat was a classic Western dragon—her scales a deep teal with flashes of violet, a pair of pale purple horns crowning her head.
They stared at each other, both curious.
No familiar dragon signature. No familiar face.
Still, something about this human was… magnetic. Tiamat felt an odd comfort in his presence.
It was only natural—the stronger the dragon, the more other dragons took notice.
"Human, who are you? Why have you invaded the domain of Tiamat, one of the Five Dragon Kings?" Her voice was low and resonant, edged with challenge.
Shuo didn't bother with pleasantries. "Name's Shuo Nangong. I'm here to make you my familiar. Why else would I go through all this trouble?"
Straightforward as ever.
Tiamat's eyes narrowed, her massive pupils contracting. "Wait—you're Shuo Nangong?!"
His reputation preceded him. By now, every god and devil in the Three Realms knew his name:
The one who slew Kokabiel, crushed Katerea, and took down both the Red Dragon Emperor and White Dragon Emperor in a two-on-one.
The Azure Dragon's power was still a secret to most, but Shuo's battle record spoke for itself—no one underestimated him anymore.
"Hold on… you want me—a Dragon King—to be your familiar? Are you insane?!"
Tiamat bared her fangs, bristling with indignation.
Shuo just grinned. "I'm dead serious. You're the only female among the Five Dragon Kings. I'm not interested in the other four guys."
Tiamat: "…"
Well, should I thank you for your impeccable taste?
She rolled her enormous eyes at him, exasperated.
His infamous declaration at the three-faction summit had echoed through the realms, and now he'd set his sights on her.
"Don't think beating Vali and the others makes you king of the world!" Tiamat roared, her pride flaring.
She was a Dragon King—she'd die before submitting to someone else's strength. A dragon's dignity wasn't so easily trampled.
But as she studied Shuo, her gaze softened, and her voice shifted.
"I'll give you one chance. If you truly defeat me, I'll become your familiar. But if you lose…"
She paused, then flashed a wicked smile.
"…from today onward, you'll be my mate. You'll stay by my side—forever. Deal?"
After all, Shuo had dragon blood and serious power. More importantly, he was… well, kind of irresistible. Tiamat had definitely taken a shine to him.
Shuo stared at her, speechless.
Wait, is she hitting on me?
I came here to subjugate her, and now she's trying to subjugate me?
He thought for a moment, then smirked. "Deal. But first, let me see your human form."
Tiamat didn't hesitate. Her massive dragon body ignited in teal flames, shrinking as the fire danced.
In their place stood a tall, statuesque woman—long teal hair cascading to her waist, eyes a soft pink.
Her horns remained, as did the wings at her back. Blue-green scales morphed into armor over her chest, sculpting curves that bordered on criminal. She radiated strength and elegance, every inch a warrior queen.
Her armor accentuated her proud figure, each line drawing Shuo's gaze, making his heart skip a beat.
He hadn't expected the Chaos Karma Dragon's human form to be so breathtaking.
"Caught you staring, didn't I?"
Tiamat shot him a playful, confident grin, her beauty and self-assurance dazzling.
Shuo's reaction was exactly what she'd hoped for—her vanity thoroughly satisfied. She'd always known men would fall for her, and Shuo was no exception.
